Did you purchase this model from Best Buy? Best Buy is adverrtising it's model with a FHD+ display.
Double check the model information. Best Buy doesn't have the 2023 version of this laptop listed on their website. It isn't available for purchase yet in most of the world.
@@bladd7707 I checked too, it is the 2023 version with FHD+. Im not very tech savy, but this is just in case anyone wanted to know as of right now, it is up to date.

Does this pack the same or weaker CPU/GPU performance compared to the new Zeyphrus G14, Zeyphrus G16, and IdeaPad Slim Pro 9i?

Did the power plug location not bother you? Is the connector proprietary or could you possibly buy 90° angled one? It's really the only thing making me back off.
It’s unorthodox. I deal with it because the rest of the machine is beast mode.
@@NormNormally Bet it is, not enough reviews out there sadly. I decided to wait for Lenovo Legion slim 7 Gen 8. Similar spec-wise but ports at the back.
I really want to pick this laptop up, but the charger location is so awful lol... I cant imagine using a mouse with it

the software for it is believe if click windows key and search up msi or steel series and you can adjust the color
I'm battling where if to get this or the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i with the 4070 as well... tough decision 😢... especially for the thermals, my main thing...

@@Chronolessi’m in the same place too, i talked to a few friends who say it’s just preference at this point. i hear a lot of good things from msi so that’s where im going but the lenovos are nice looking too.
@@Nebula-rx7bj I decided to go with the Lenovo (i7 rtx 4070) and skip out on the MSI because I'm afraid of the lack of info about the temps while gaming. Hope I made a good choice.

@@Tiredviet i ended up buying an rog zephyrus g16 with the 4060. I got it specifically for the armory crate replacement software. It comes orginally with armory crate but if you replace it with g helper you get better performance and insane battery life. I’d look into it if you get the chance, the softwares free and the laptop goes on sale a ton

I just got this laptop. Why does the cpu get so hot fast. Not even running anything and the cpu reaches 100 degrees. Is this normal?

@@Michael-vf5id yea it is this exact laptop. Same specs and everything. I did figure it out tho. You can control and customize fan speed by the heat of the cpu. If you want to game hardcore then I don’t recommend using the charger at the same time. But without the charge at full battery and a bit below 50 percent brightness, I can game smoothly for about 2 hours or so. I recommend for both gaming and work.

@drippinsalsa9634 If you're gaming without it being plugged in you're not even going to get the full power of the laptop lol.
For those who see this and are concerned about this, oftentimes, for whatever reason, CPU thermal paste (especially liquid metal, which is why I hate liquid metal in laptops made for travel) slides between the CPU and the heat pipe contact when moving the laptop. A generous repaste with normal thermal paste should be enough to bring the temps back down to acceptable levels. This happened to a friend's 4090 laptop after 2 weeks of being transferred in and out of his bag. So especially for school/travel laptops, be aware of this.
You don’t review honestly because in real life the battery is about 3h30 on web browsing.

Ordered this in the 13700H and 3060 variant with 2k display.
Sooooo good on battery life!
It was between this and a Legion Pro7i but my god this MSI gets me 6.5 hours of real use without any babysitting, screen at 40%.
The legion was giving me 2-3 hours under the same conditions and honestly once you have the freedom and the power it's amazing.
Finally a good looking and powerful MSI with great battery! Took them sooooo long to get here but I love it.
