This is the very first time I heard about updating firmware for every battery, and I look at LOTS of tutorials. This should be more widely advertised. Thanks for the great tips.
Nice review of the mavic mini, Stefan. I´m still a bit disappointed that they don´t have no RAW photo and no panorama mode. But I guess that´s the price you pay when you want a drone under 250g.
@@StefanMalloch DJI has remarked that they wouldn't consider Active Track on the Mini due to the lack of obstacle avoidance. This is a liability point not technical because could do it. However, there rumours that DJI was evaluating adding AEB and Panorama as well more quick shots. When the SDK will be released maybe third party software like Litchi can add the Mini to their app and have follow me and waypoints.
Thanks for the video. I have to share that I saw mavic mini range test video yesterday. He was able to fly at least 5K meters distance away, w/ minor hick ups on connectivity. If you lost your connectivity after 500m, then it is either that you failed antenna positioning or it was a major obstacle. Cheers
I'm doing a video on its range shorty. Constantly between 500-700 is my max since day 1 in ideal conditions. Doing a range extender comparison as well.
Why EVERY video out there fails to inform people that there is a HUGE difference that changes the whole game with this drone, and that is that it’s batteries are NOT LiPo! They are Li-ion! That means they are safer to use, easier to storage, safer to get them with you on board, easier to charge and even use as a battery bank, etc...
When I did the Circle quickshot of my wife and friends swimming, my mini drop in altitude to the point where, had I not moved one of the sticks to stop the quickshot....I'd have to go for a quick dip to retrieve it....is this drop normal?
I see nothing about doing each battery with new firmware. Can you explain? Even used DJI assistant and the only choice is to refresh, but all 3 batteries show as current. I never did all 3 batteries.
I got one a couple weeks ago. It's been hot lately here in Arizona. My last flight was sunny late morning of 93 degrees Fahrenheit, and the battery got up to 54 degrees Celsius. I got an aircraft overheating warning and so I promptly descended and flew another 40 yards to its landing site. The evening before I had no trouble flying it at 104 degrees Fahrenheit. I did this at Sunset so the sun intensity was very low nonetheless it was hotter. Doing this did not cause the aircraft overheat. Does anybody have any comments about the maximum temperature the battery should be reaching during use? I know the maximum flying temperature is 104 degrees Fahrenheit
Thanks for the tips but I do have a question. I did get a message to update the battery firmware to which I did, but how do you do the others batteries? I never received a message to update the others. Thanks for your time!
Hey bud, I covered that in the video but when you put another battery in open the app and wait at the connection screen until you're prompted to update. Simple as that!
Stefan Malloch thanks, like I said the one updated but when I put another in, nothing maybe I need to wait to see if I get the message to update. Thanks again
So I have a question great video by the way. I am getting confused one person will say the photos are really good but then I hear people say it is not good for professional? Why if the photos are good do you not recommend for pro? Or to make a profit ? Thanks for taking the time .
@@VWorldWide It's definately not the ideal drone for a professional, but you CAN use this as a preofessional tool, especially if you're just getting started. I know because that's exactly what I did. I can point you to some samples if you're interested, not trying to spam up the comments 😉
@@SeanJoynt13 I've also done the same. This drone can be used professionally no problem. There are ND Filters you can get for the lens, and you are now able to manually control the exposure. It may not have the best sensor, but it is possible to use it professionally as I am now...
Buddy G nice 👍 it’s a great little beast, for sure! I have a few ND filter reviews/sample footage on my channel, I use it professionally as well! Cheers ✌️
I've already made the mistake of not updating home point before taking off 😣 (total catastrophe). Guys stick to all the tips that Stefan has shared with us, they'll make your life better. Trust me... Stay safe!
.A few days ago I flew my Mini out of my 21st floor hotel room window. I sent it out about 500 ft away from the building. I got a "Maximum Altitude Reached" warning. At that point my Mini couldn't have been more than 400 ft above the ground. Then things got crazy pretty quickly. Somehow my RC lost connection with my Mini and very soon, my Mini started turning back towards me. It did a ninety degree pivot to the left, the gimbal couldn't right itself and you can see that in the video I was able to save, then it seemed to race back towards me. Instead of regaining connection with my RC, the Mini raced past my window and crashed into the side of the building. Later I found my drone lying in pieces by the swimming pool. The impact was so hard that it ejected the battery out of its case. I never did find the battery.
I never knew i had to update battery firmware for each one... i had the update message but never got them again after changing the battery. Do i need to do them manually in the settings somehow?
VERY IMPORTANT! I ran into tons of issues by only doing one.. Wait at the connect screen until it prompts you to update. Have a look at my range video.
It's a bit confusing but when you do the firmware update it automatically does the battery firmware too but never mentions it. So afterwards always cycle the additional two batteries and then you should just get the battery firmware update notice for each.
My dji mavic mini is only 30 metre Hight and 50 metre lenth how to problem solve please tell me reply some error message motor problem motor overheating
5:10 No, thank you. This is one of the biggest reasons I want a drone in the first place lmao, to explore far away. Kilometeres. There is a point and need. Every drone is a WiFi drone lmao how else do you wanna live view it and control it? It has around 4.5km of range here in Europe I dont know a drone that has more than that lmao so idk whats your point
hey buddy, great review! Hard to pick a favourite feature, personally its just a great little drone! But if i had to, I'd say that the manual video controls are a huge bonus! Been looking for channels just like this, glad I found yours! liked and subbed 👍✌

Great tips thanks. Things to think about
Thanks for the tips!
I'm glad there are ND Filters for Mavic Mini
Can’t see much difference in the example shown in this video. What am I missing?
It makes it more than 250g tho..

They just added 24fps, manual shutter speed and white balance. Just waiting for active tack and I'm happy!

do you expect it to go on sale for black friday?
It's on sale now with amazon prime day

can u please tell me why is your video glitching (its is not smood) on 4:50 ? i have same problem on my MM
Motion blur? Check your shutter speed. Invest in some ND's if its an issue.

2:05 Pricing listed is $50 less than what I see on DJI website, has the price increased or is there some code that I'm missing?

Is there any way to turn off the low battery indicator beeping? Or atleast acknowledge it, like hit ok and then continue filming and flying in peace?
I usually just turn the phone volume down.

That sucks!.. too much interference in the city maybe?
Stefan Malloch That’s what one of my friends conjectured. WiFi interference.
Haha
Nothing much you can do in that situation other then try to land anywhere asap when you get the first signal interference message
