Oulton Park Gold Cup. If you never saw and heard a field full of F5000 cars in the prime years 1970 to 1975 then you just wouldn’t understand. Peter Gethin. Brian Redman. Mike Hailwood. Frank Gardner. All heroes able to opposite lock through Knicker Brook at 130 mph ! Great blokes with big balls.
Sam Lancaster I so wish I couldve been able to experience that, sadly I wasnt born until 1980! The absolute highlight of my trips to Oulton Park lately has been to just stand behind the f5000 cars when they fired them up and absolutely ADORE the sounds. There’s ususlly been only a handful of them though, but like you say to witness a full grid of them (with no sound restrictions like there are now) must have been incredible. Would have loved to have witnessed that. Oh well.
Absolutely! Sadly the sound of the video doesn’t even come close to hearing it in the flesh sorry! Please check out some of my other videos though, playing the sound LOUD through a quality sound system does help however.
lol what are you talking about, that's pretty much standard with these things and it's completely insignificant compared to the downforce they deal with.
@Cock McBalls nah not from what I’ve seen, it’s just common and routine to have open wheelers pushed by the wing even in professional series, see it all the time with anything like this right up to Indycar. The main exception would be Formula 1, maybe partly because of the complex and flexible wings not being practical to push on but largely just because touching the wing in lots of cases can end in stewards accusing someone of breaking rules about inspecting cars at the wrong time.
When the car finally fired up it BLEW THE BASEBALL CAP I WAS WEARING OFF MY HEAD! Absolutely loved it!!
Never forget the Lolas exhibition race a Brands Hatch '87? Wow...the sound
