I love to just sit and relax with your videos. I've had quilting anxiety, trying to measure up to quilting purists when all I want to do is get a bit of fabric and colorful thread and poke a needle into it. Thank you for giving me permission.
Love your kind of spunk. It’s like drawing outside the lines. I have a terrible dilemma in that I have lost my mojo to quilt and knit. After caring for a beloved sister, who went to her maker. Not a month has passed and another tragedy has struck my home. God bless you for sharing crafts that ease my mind. 🙏🏼🌺
Lovely little project Kate. Today it is Victoria day here in Canada. We celebrate Queen Victoria's birthday. It is going to be a rainy day so I hope to spend some time in my sewing room making some throw pillows for my Mom's couch. I do it with scrap strips foundation pieced on paper and a simple overlapping back flap. I do love your videos so much I feel like I am having a nice visit with a friend. Have a great day. We have been having so much rain here this spring. It is so lush and green.
While I was enduring my own personal time with COVID and spending most of my time on my couch feeling miserable and then for several weeks very tired, I found The Last Homely House on RUclips. I found in Kate a friend! I dabble in fabric, I love to cook, I keep a small flock of chickens, garden, and keep cats. I binged on Kate's videos and loved it. I often did some hand sewing while I watched; it was good encouragement to be productive. This particular video caught my attention. I have just completed m to version of using tiny scraps. Most of these came from my mother's mid 20th century quilting fabric stash. I needed a small curtain to keep our the hot morning summer sun. It looks pretty at night too. Thanks for the tutorial. And thank you so much for keeping me company when I was sick. I continue to enjoy your posts.
They look really nice in the window with the light shining through. Thank you for stopping by my daughter’s RUclips channel and wishing her a happy birthday. She was so excited to see all the comments this morning.
I have just ordered some small pieces of Liberty Tana Lawn fabric to make a small quilt or lap throw for a niece. I could do this with even smaller scraps; endless possibilities! Thank you so much! From the state of Illinois in the U.S.
I was talking to my friend and telling her about you, told her how calming your are to listen too. Big bonus is all the different crafts you do just like us. I was originally born in Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire and raised in Suffolk, but I emigrated to the United States and now live in East Wenatchee, Washington.
Kate you truly make my heart happy. The liberty fabric tiny square blocks in the window are delightful and everything you do is a joy. Thank god for givingcus you. Barb may
Same here…just discovered this wonderful, joy-filled channel❣️ And it’s all because of Kate…I never get tired of watching, learning, laughing…& you have been doing this for 6 years?!! THANK YOU & may God continue to bless you 🙏❤️
I’ve only just found you Kate, thank goodness! I’ve collected Liberty scraps for years, and only yesterday got seized with the idea of making a log cabin quilt. Only I want it to be along the old way ......lots of lights and darks, but no set choice of fabrics as we tend to do nowadays. As the Liberty fabrics are so thin, I’ve decided to sew the strips onto vylene to give it a bit of support. Got 20 done so far, using all the wonderful prints Liberty made over the years. One even has an elephant on it. I had a lot of rose coloured prints so those are the light side. I do love scrap quilts. Meanwhile, thank you so much for the visit.
I have fabric scraps left from things I made for my grandchildren when they were small. What a wonderful idea to make from the scraps and hang from my sewing room window.
POPPIES!!! So much Poppies!! I walked around the UK during Remembrance WEEK with a lump in my throat at everyone wearing red poppies. I took a small bunch from the local VFW to lay at the memorial in Dover. What a love you are, Kate.
I have been binge watching your videos and this one is my favorite by far. I am going to make a small curtain for my front door. Just perfect. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your ideas and for being someone that wastes as little as possible. I love these and the door one so much I think I'm going to give this a go, to use on my bathroom window. Thinking of laying in a bath with the sun shining through the wee squares of jewelled delights is making my heart sing. Mine will probably be on purple, burn orange and teal background squares, as as they are colours I most often crave.
Just awesome! Can’t wait to show a friend that makes quilts and also stained glass pieces. I love that you do so much hand work. No hurry. Makes it so special. Thanks Kate
I realise now in retrospect this was probably the first video of yours I watched, a couple months ago - RUclips recommended, I gave it a try and I was quickly hooked. Although I think I haven't made anything directly based on you yet - you did inspire me today in the idea to use a smaller quantity of a special fabric in a patchwork project, though! Thank you for being you and sharing it with the world. :-)
Hi, I just happened across this video and they are so sweet. Very natural, and a lovely way to use even teeny tiny scraps. What I think is so special, is that you used up this fabric from another ladies stash and gave it some life. The fabric didn't end in landfill but reloved into something so sweet. I am not much of a sewer but reckon I can handle this.
I know I'm almost 2 years late to this video but I must say that I find you very fascinating. I love your accent. I am in the USA and never heard of Liberty fabric which isn't to say I won't be able to get it but I have boxes of scraps I've been given over the years and I love your idea of creating these panels/curtains. Thank you for the inspiration.
Received my package yesterday wrapped in your "Fragile" tape. Worked wonderfully since pincushions we're intact!. Loved everything. Thank you so much. The Liberty fabric on the lavender bags is beautiful. You are a wonderful speaker and writer. Love, Marcie ❤️🌱❤️🐔👉

Oh Kate, I have caught glimpses of this larger one in your house in other videos and really loved it. Now I get a close up and still love it. Thanks so much for sharing.
Another creative project, now that I have some Liberty fabrics I’ll have to keep this idea in mind. I haven’t started using my fabrics yet, I want to but too much gardening to do right now. I love the stain glass look, and I wouldn’t want to leave any of my fabrics unused, thanks again for sharing 👍❤️😊
Great video Kate. I have two of your window hangings. I love them, beautifully made. I live in a large Victorian House with huge windows and they look lovely hanging by my craft/ spare window. A nice relaxing make. Now I see how you made them, I will give them a go as I have a few pieces of Liberty fabric. Thank you 🌺🌸
Hi Kate I'm really happy that I purchased one of these from your shop🌞🧡💛 I love mine soooo much it's hanging against the bedroom window it feels like a lovely English cottage🏡, when the light is shining through its looks really beautiful! My little girl has now officially called them "sunshine squares" 😏🌞have a lovely day xx Oh and the Lavender bag smells wonderful thank you x
Dear Kate, I really love your liberty series. I never heard about this manufacturer before but I meanwhile understand why people fell in love with it. Thanks a lot for the tutorial. It is a wonderful way to show the fabrics. And I really liked every bit of music you chose for this video 😉 xoxo from Germany, Stephanie
Beautiful as always, just by coincidence my husband bought me a sample of Liberty fabric just because he liked it and thought I would. Needless to say I was thrilled!!
Thank you Kate for this simple idea anyone can do. As I'm not really good at sewing or crafting, this simple, yet beautiful craft is perfect for me and I'm sure many others. 💕👍
Hello from Canada! I love Liberty fabrics! Working with it, sewing with it, wearing it; it's wonderful! I was fortunate to find some in a small store close to me; they imported some of the nicest fabrics. I made two gorgeous blouses to go with the skirts and a suit I made for work. I always felt like a million bucks wearing them! Keep up the great work!
Your channel is quite new to me, and I have loved every second of it! There are two long windows in the family room that get beautiful morning light...I can't think of anything more lovely than a couple of these hanging side by side! Thank you, Kate, for sharing your amazing creativity!
Beautiful !!! I am going to try my hand at one of your stain glass hangings. Maybe it will inspire me to have a go at your stain glass curtains for my sewing room.
This is absolutely gorgeous. I may use a panel like this in the centre of a pretty cloth bag. Inside the bag can be a few plain bags for grocery shopping. Love how relaxing your video is. Thank you.
Perfect. I happen to have a very small bit of Liberty and this is the answer! So much better than languishing in a box! Now they will be out and enjoyed. Thank you, Kate. 💕
Hello Kate! Oh to be just a fraction as creative as you! I adore your free spirit, there isn't anything you can't do! I am enjoying getting caught up on your videos. Hugs to you from Kansas.

I love both stained glass and fabric so I find these really charming. What a clever idea. I even love the reverse side where you can see the stitching.
So lovely and funky too, they are so gorgeous in the window ❤️ and your clever buttons made me swoon, I love buttons and may have a substantial stash 😉 hope you are having a great day. I have been helping put the honey from the school bees into jars for parents to buy, a sticky but rewarding job. Xx
I used to do that for my Dad - no matter how careful you are EVERYTHING ends up sticky - we had a little outbuilding where we extracted and bottled - my word - was that room ever sticky!!!!! xxx
Thanks Kate for the inspiration, I made a window hanging using some batik fabric and hung it in the window of my summer house, it looks lovely with the sun shining through it, the colours really glow 😊. I was also in the nursing profession and am enjoying indicating left and slowing down to do some of the crafty things I could never find the time for while I was working. All best wishes, Linda x
I saw these on your wall and wondered. Now I see how clever and great usage. I have been a quilter for a long long time and never have seen this simply wonderful idea. Amazing THX
Beautiful! You are so creative. I like that you use music but I prefer to hear from you. You are a marvelous story teller. A fond memory of your mom or kids or a trip in the voice over would be excellent! ❤🙌
So happy to see you this morning with my coffee and a cat on my lap. Going to check out buying a tiny bit of Liberty Fabric and make a curtain for a small window I have in my craft room. I may cheat a little and sew the squares together on the machine....Thanks for another inspiration.
I am a amazed at your work and liberty fabrics I love but I could not afford it but I can just see your work with liberty , I hand some lovely small pieces and going to try it . And I love you pretty dress that colour suits you . Hope you have a great day as I am going to have just watching you .hugs Daphne Australia x

You're amazing with fabrics and even the scraps. Love to see how your mind works when you selecting the colours. Beautiful! And you're getting really good with your special effects. That was nicely done with the buttons. 👍💕xxxx
So love this. Already know where I'm going to put mine, on an east facing window...will be fab every morning! Thanks Kate... gee...what did I do before I found you?!
Wow that is amazing! So gold and lucky to find your wonderful and amazing podcast. I found you trying to find tutorial on how to sew a shopping bags, your podcast is truly amazing . Thank you very very much 💐
Beautifully filmed and edited, Kate. Thank you for this sweet bit of inspiration. I love the idea of creating a bit of 'stained glass' from pretty fabrics.
I am in love with these and their simplicity! I adore you and your channel and can't believe someone thumbs downed you. Just beautiful. .. really. It gives me hope that I can make something beautiful also ❤
i love the way that light can shine through fabric, and your idea for the door hanging really highlighted the stained glass effect that can be achieved, and one that also also uses up bits of fabric, and I liked the scrappy look. An excellent idea all round!
Awwww, what a wonderful idea! That is beautiful! I have to check my fabrics now, - it won't be Liberty, but that is ok. Thank you so much for sharing this!
What a fun way to use up the scraps. I'll have to give it a try and hang it in my office window. Love the ease and funkiness of this. Thanks for sharing. I like your new special effects. Nicely done with the buttons. Have a blessed day!
I've seen a great technique where you food over opposing edges of the background fabric and machine stitch over the center fabric, encoding raw edges. Good idea for very small scraps. I usually don't save anything under 2-1\2" , despite how much I love it. Great video.
Thank You once again Kate for sharing your creative project with us Love all your beautiful ideas can't wait to see what your coming up with next Your Fascinating! 💕💖💕
I like funky too! I recently got some Liberty scraps and this will work well with them. Really liked this video a lot. Music was great, you are getting really good at editing and your special effect with the buttons....too cute.
What a lovely idea! I love my Liberty fabric lavender bag, so pretty! I will treat myself to some Liberty fabrics when I next visit a little shop I found in Wells, Somerset! A little can go a long way as you have just shown! Thank you Kate and blessings. x
Found tie dye fabric my sister brought back from a cruise...she can't remember which one. I was at a loss for what to use for the heavier wgt fabric but...finished a denim jacket today and I have enough denim left to use for this. Thank you for the ideas you share.
I really think they are so cute and I really love Liberty fabric now. You and Stitch with Rachael has me so in love with Liberty, but I’ve yet to buy any. I’m afraid if I find it , I will be in trouble, I will want to buy tons of it. Someday soon it always looks so beautiful in any quilt. Have a great day.😊
This is beautiful! Thanks for sharing this idea! I have little scraps that are so pretty and I didn't know what to do with them & now I do!! Thanks again
Very pretty. I'm making the little bags for lavender. The funny thing is my older daughter, when I offered her if she needed some for her winter clothes, now that Spring happens to be at last coming, she told me she is also doing the same! So we get inspired by you not one by one, but in family trees! Thank you!
I love to just sit and relax with your videos. I've had quilting anxiety, trying to measure up to quilting purists when all I want to do is get a bit of fabric and colorful thread and poke a needle into it. Thank you for giving me permission.

Have a blessed day!
those buttons took ages! but it was fun! and I love the idea of decorating your office! good! xxx
I love your stained glass effect quilts. They look great in the window and door
I've seen a great technique where you food over opposing edges of the background fabric and machine stitch over the center fabric, encoding raw edges. Good idea for very small scraps. I usually don't save anything under 2-1\2" , despite how much I love it. Great video.
It is INDEED the most incredible fabric. Thin, making it the perfect choice for this project. Many thanks!

Beautiful, I also like the difference in sizes and stitching.
I like funky too! I recently got some Liberty scraps and this will work well with them. Really liked this video a lot. Music was great, you are getting really good at editing and your special effect with the buttons....too cute.
it's fun! thank you xxx
What a lovely idea! I love my Liberty fabric lavender bag, so pretty! I will treat myself to some Liberty fabrics when I next visit a little shop I found in Wells, Somerset! A little can go a long way as you have just shown! Thank you Kate and blessings. x

What a lovely project and a sweet way to remember your friend💕
Found tie dye fabric my sister brought back from a cruise...she can't remember which one. I was at a loss for what to use for the heavier wgt fabric but...finished a denim jacket today and I have enough denim left to use for this. Thank you for the ideas you share.
I really think they are so cute and I really love Liberty fabric now. You and Stitch with Rachael has me so in love with Liberty, but I’ve yet to buy any. I’m afraid if I find it , I will be in trouble, I will want to buy tons of it. Someday soon it always looks so beautiful in any quilt. Have a great day.😊
So easy and pretty! TFS the inspiration, Kate!

You are such a treasure.! Very happy I found your videos. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your thoughts and ideas! ♥️
Very pretty. I'm making the little bags for lavender. The funny thing is my older daughter, when I offered her if she needed some for her winter clothes, now that Spring happens to be at last coming, she told me she is also doing the same! So we get inspired by you not one by one, but in family trees! Thank you!
