i just realised I've been sitting watching Kate's videos for the last 2 hours. It's now o6oo hrs, it hardly seems worth going back to bed. I see this video was made 5 years ago....why on earth could I not have found this channel then?
I agree! I've watched for hours having just found this channel. I listen while sewing and ironing fabric. I'm sorting and cleaning right along with her. Definitely a kindred spirit!
I’m the same. From Maine USA. I’ve just discovered Kate in the last month. But, oh the joy of having so many videos ahead of me! I’ve just been motivated to organize all my scraps!
Say what you will, but I am CONVINCED that Norma was a celebrity in her past life. I just love her to bits and the way that she needs to be front and centre for every video. Don't worry, I have the same...its a whole different skill set to learn quilting with cats 😆 It just wouldn't be a last homely house video without her. She is a true star 😍.....of course her cat mum is too. Much love xo
I’m loving this, so much freedom in the doing of it. Kate Thankyou so much , I wish I could visit the north of England to join you for a cup of tea! Wonderful quilting
Oh you are lovely! I would have voted for black w/white polka dots for a sashing, if you insisted on having it! Happy quilting! Wonderful, inspiring! LOVE to all!
I wish we were neighbors. You are just my kind of person. I love all the things you do. I have been quilting since 1984. Made lots of quilts and hand quilted most of them. Ruined my hands. I’m 10 years older than you and the memory thing kinda sneaks up on you. Getting old is not for sissies. The quilt is looking great. Love all the fabrics. Going to be so pretty. I like the green sashing.
I love the “virtual neighbors “. We have so much in common. You are a great teacher. I was a second grade teacher, 23 yrs. I do quilting, punch-needle, cross stitch, paper art in a journal, gardening and a profound love of animals. I have 3 cats and a dog. Have always had animals. That’s why I think we would be great friends. As you say, virtual friends. So thankful I found your channel.
Little tinies could be ironed onto fusible interfacing then topstitched all over like a crazy quilt square. Makes nice zippered pouches or tissue holder gifts as well as gorgeous quilts etc 😊👍
I have a little notebook of folks I watch/stumble across and want to remember...it's not your old age brain...there's so many wonderful things to see that we can't keep up! I love Robin at RSIsland crafts...her adding machine scrap keeper is my favorite thing ever! I love how much Norma loves you and how your hand just naturally goes to stroke her....LOVE the pinks, Kate!!!
I can't remember if you have the book about Norma? she is making up for lost time - never leaves me alone! I love it. In a future video I hope to find the till roll - than I can make some of that stuff too! its very addictive! xxx
I live in Kentucky USA. I love your videos I love you and I love your Homestead when you drive into that small town it is so wonderful. The quietness of the roads and small community I just love it I would love to live somewhere like that keep sharing your videos and blessed people thank you so much
well - aren't you lovely! Thank you! I really do enjoy living here - it has a really comfortable feel to it - the area I mean - I go tot the post office often and the staff there are so friendly it tales me ages! xxx When the weather is better I'll drive more and film it. its on the list! xxx
I have just finished some curtains using scrappy blocks, for my bedroom to try to keep warm this winter. Love that your fabrics bring good memories of the things you've made. Mine do too. My scrappy squares have a shadow border and then a cheery yellow sashing. I should have used a narrower sashing though, because my room is very bright all of a sudden. Oops 🙂 Thanks for your company on YT.
Such pretty scraps! I've been working off & on with scrappy blocks as well (6 1/2 inch squares). So relaxing but yet stimulating! What a beautiful blending of colors you have. So nice of you to give Robin of RsIslandCrafts a shout out - that's where I found out about your channel a few months ago; she had commented how much she enjoyed watching your videos. And I must say I really enjoy watching your videos too! I'm new to quilting & am really enjoying it, so I have a lot to learn, but that's part of the fun, always learning. I'm not a fan of sewing very much with black - a bit difficult for me to see, but I do like the look of it. Thank you for posting & sharing your videos! Happy sewing!
you're right - it IS part of the fun! and that is what it is all about - unleashing your creative JOY!! I hope you continue to experiment and have fun! xxxx
Hi, Kate! So glad I found you! Even cut me some paper squares to make a EPP dog...once I've bound the king size quilt for my cousin. On this side of the pond what you're doing is also called crumb piecing. It's so much fun not to worry about cutting things perfectly or sewing perfect quarter-inch seams. Love what you're doing with your pinks and reds. Gotta get back to my own crumb box. Love to Norma, Prudence, Rita, and Sadie. :-)
I just found you today. I saw your bit about making grocery bags. And i became intrigued by you snd your voice. Im a quilter and 77. And i have been to England and love it. I think i will be tuning in to you often.
You are a joy to watch! You are the kindest and talk as if we are sitting with you! Thank you! I live in rural southern Ohio and I also have chickens! ❤️
The fairies might be responsible for dropping me here because they new I would fall in love with this lovely lady, here adventurous cats, silent sewing machine and adorable ironing cover, and last but not least, her yummylicious scrap quilt. I love cottage looking scrap quilts, but I would totally go bohemian chic gypsy sensual on your quilt and fill it with red, red, red and more red! Lol! Anyway, whatever color you choose, your quilt will still look stunning.
hello lovely lady! you are most welcome! red is shuffling to the top of the list for me too - I look forward to explain what I'm doing in the next video about this- but I'm going to need 100's more blocks! ha ha!!! xxx
I like your ironing board cover fabric, I’d hate for you to loose that cute, charming print!!! Do you have more of the same or design your own like it? I don’t think it needs replacing.
I love scrappy quilts. I have just finished a strip block quilt made with strips of my scrap fabrics and like you I recall everything I have made when looking at it. I think you could continue the red theme by using Dark red for the sashing although I do quite like the white as well. I am not keen on the green but all the blocks look so very pretty I am sure it will turn out great. Thank you for sharing.
Lovely, I can't wait to see what it turns out like. I'm still knitting socks. I figured I'd do a bunch so I won't forget. Usually when I learn something new I repeat it several times so it gets in planted in my brain. If I do it only once I don't remember the next time I try. It's funny because when I do try something new everyone around me ends up with it. Crocheted hats and shawls, knitted hats, little Crocheted stuffed animals, and now socks. I made so many of the stuffed animals I decorated the Christmas tree with them last year. I'm sure my husband thinks I'm a gonner. 😀 I don't care though, it's fun!
well - if you're a gonner - I want to go to where you are - there we will find our people! socks - I completely agree - I make socks in the way I do most things - obsessively - I made everyone I love (six people) socks one christmas - that's 12 socks. thing is - I only decided I would do it in December! I remember my youngest son unwrapped a ball of wool and I knitted his during the christmas holiday! ha ha!!!!!
Dropped mine off at the Women Jail! They are teaching the inmates how to see and the first one the learn in a scrap quilt. I was amazed when I saw some! Ribbons, laces, all found a place. Love your cat, looks like mine xxxxx
Today is 1/19/21. I have been following you for a short time. Found this old video, and now I need to search out the others that will show me the complete quilt. Thanks for having a fun channel!!
Dear Kate, Have you ever tried to make a piece using the technique called “fabric slashing?” You take all your little bits of fabric and sandwich them between two solid large squares of a heavier weight fabric (often a light weight denim) and pin the edges of the squares together. Next you stitch to create narrow channels. Take your scissors and cut in the center of the channels including the scrap filling, being careful not to cut the back square. The result is colorful fluff that improves after a wash in the machine. These colorful blocks can create wonderful cushions, tote bags, vests and so on and on. I would so love to see your take on it. Please have a go. I think you are brilliant! oxoxo
Piano key piecing.... remember to make very SMALL stitches or when you pull off the paper, the paper bits will be hard to pull off and the seams will shred, and you'll have to do it over. I made miles of it and was so disappointed. With very careful pulling off the paper, the pieces of cloth were "basted" with partial bits of remaining seams so the RE-sewing wasn't too hard. Remember to press each and every bit as well. By the time I got the bits apart, the un-pressed cloth bits "grew" quite a lot. I ended up with more than I thought. Extra work, but it ended up really nice. I'll do it again with tiny stitches and be happier. ))) Yes crumb quilts are great fun. No measuring, no thinking, just play. I fell in love with your red star quilt.
Hi Kate, just found you and I can't believe how we are so much on the same page. I have just started my 'crumb' quilt journey the same way you did but I am doing yellow and blue. Originally from the North of England I know live near the coast in Victoria Australia. I reckon the blue and yellow is because I live near the beach, lucky me. Love from Downunder, btw we are hot and sticky here so the ironing part has to be later in the day.
Hello! the North East of England! what a long way from home you are! I can't imagine having to put off the ironing because its too hot!!! greetings from your natal home! xxx
This was posted on the month that started my voluntary lock down. Better safe than sorry.....and sure enough, I'm still here! Thankfully you are tool :-)
i have never made a quilt would love to make one someday, love the colours the red and pink I love red! Love watching you and listing to you talk you are a beautiful nice lady! Thank you for sharing! Hugs Liz .
Hi Kate, this is the video that I first stumbled upon your channel (a few years back), been hooked ever since, love Robin too, she’s so funny and a tad haphazard like myself :)
Ahhh! The Mile-a-Minute block. Such a fun way to use up scraps. It appears you and I have the same machine. One of my two Janomes, along with four Singers, and two overlockers. And yes, my hand is up. I buy ironing board cover fabric at the thrift store when they have fabric shower curtains. One curtain will make about three covers.
Oh this is lovely. All those beautiful colours. I love the green behind all those pinks and reds, it makes them stand out more. If you have a memory for all those pieces of fabric, maybe you can call it your scrappy memory quilt 🙂 You really do have a happy, colourful mind Kate. We never know what we’re going to get on your channel. It’s always a wonderful surprise 🌹 Thank you.
Just discovered you! You are simply delightful and fun to watch. Your cat is charming as well! I have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks for all you share!
Hello Kate I'm a brand new subby. This was recommended for me to watch today. I'm so glad I did. I love the idea of making quilts never done it my grandmother did. I will follow along for this journey it sounds like fun. Your house is darling from what I could see. And so is the kitty. I look forward to more fun videos from you. Stay crafty.❤xo💜xo💙xo💛xo💖xo💚
Hi Kate, I have been watching your RUclips videos every day, several a day, sometimes more than once! Yup I’m addicted hah! I was watching you piece your wonky blocks, and think white would be a nice smashing on this one. As for you ironing board, make yourself a bright colorful WONKY cover with you scraps. It would be beautiful and it would make you happy to iron on it. I may take my own advice, my ironing board cover has seen better days. Just love all you are doing. What a great life you have. I hope you are taking good care of yourself and stay healthy. I am really enjoying our little visits. Feels like a visit, anyway. Have a good week hon!
I'm just watching your first scrappy quilt video from 2 years ago...the pink and red I just finished my own first scrappy and it turned out really nicely...here's hoping you did get a new ironing board cover...lol
I have just happened on your channel and I love your scrappy quilt that you are making. I also love your kitty quilting helper! I have a cat helper that likes to help me quilt, knit and crochet.
Thanks you I have so enjoyed spending time with you this morning and giving me inspiration I rearing to go wish I could spend time with you in person you motivate me to be creative love watching your videos love you also enjoy your day I’m sitting here with my little dog asleep beside me and what a great start to my day thank you Kate xxx
another fabulous suggestion - I am going to make a not of them all in my 'quilting notebook' (which sounds more organised than it really is) and try each one! xx thanks
I have been playing like Kate this weekend and instead of sewing I have been coloring and watercolor painting....I needed a break to renew my sewing enthusiasm .... watching you this morning has helped a lot too..... I love scrappy quilts and have not considered using same colors but thinking that was would be a fun change.... thanks for the inspiration ....
I do like painting so much - but I am not very good at it - this is like painting with fabric - there really are no rules - I'm loving it! I've got over 100 now! xxx
Hello Kate, Hello Norma yr looking so gorgeous today. 😻 I think a purple background would look lovely with all those pinks & reds but having said that, you have a far better eye for colour matching than I’ll ever have, I’m afraid I’m 1 of those dreaded people who love black, greys, whites, creams and purples, I love watching how you make scraps of material turn into the most beautiful quilts and window hangings, they all look amazing 🤗
Ha ha Not going to get cross with you. You gave me a chuckle with that one because I would do the very same thing. Too much for my lack of patience. One day I plan on making a quilt and I SHOULD go ahead and get started on one since I am not a spring chicken anymore. I have made quilts but not the piecing ones like this. I do LOVE the crazy quilts and THAT is probably what I will do since I HATE doing the same thing over and over and over. So doing a crazy quilt would be something different each time. Loved you vid!!!
Hello Many hatted lady! For me - I hate doing as I am told or what the rules say! ha ha!!! I like how this is so quick to construct and no weird measuring - though I am coming to that part next! lets see if my sashing is straight eh? xxxxx
Kate you do such a wonderful job with these videos. I love watching you with your cats. We have 7 cats and the looks you give them sometimes makes me laugh! I feel like we have that {look} in common! You have helped me so much with my quilting, by being relaxed by what I'm doing. I wanted to be professional about by quilting, but I realize that I need to be adventurous! Thank you so much for what you are doing and KEEP doing it!
I had watched several quilts being made "scrappy", "crumb" or whatever. On my front page in youtube, there was a shot of you doing another and so I clicked. YAY Yours is so wonderful. Up till this moment I was not impressed with scrappy quilts as most were too chaotic for my taste. I look forward to your next video. And thank you for not being fussy :-)
Scrappy quilts are the best. I love being able to use a lot of scraps. Although scraps multiple in the night, like bunnies. I call these free fall fun quilts Picasso inspired. I can imagine him rolling over!!!!
Robin sent me scurrying to your channel. Postage curtains scrappy sewing and I was hooked. Had to stop and do dinner but back at it. Love your commentary and tutorials. Have played for 5 hours. Bed time. Thank you for your videos.
New subbie from Wisconsin. I used to make "whip" quilts many years ago. (Whip em up on a wim). You are so inspiring to me. I need to get back to my machine and do a few quilts. I want to try this for sure. Thanks for sharing.
You are so amazing to listen too, your brave about learning any thing, you just seam to impress me w all that u do any say .I have learn a lot from you, my Dog Harley loves to watch your videos he is in love w your Cats. Keep up the great videos, God bless from USA Michigan, Kathyleen M
Howdy!!! It was very nice to hear back from you. Interesting to hear about your childhood memories of the Lane near your Dad,s house. No worries about your sash selection. My point of view via the UTube viedo can be different from what you can actually observe in person. After all it is your creation. Can't wait to see the finished project. 😺👩🎤 Signing off Scott's wife Vickie
Well, I like the response to my latest comment your response Came through as the following..... XXXX. And as my mother would respond to that would be X O X O. Have a great day !!! Signing off Scott's wife Vickie
Hello Kate - I see you have decided on a crumb quilt. I see a lot of pinky purple in the blocks along with orange. (aside from the red/pink) Either the purple or orange would make a lovely sashing. Good luck deciding. Yes your ironing board looks quite used along with your cutting mat.
I don't look after my cutting mat like I should (hangs head in shame) but the ironing board cover is years old - I need to make a new one pronto! I've spent all day making 4 inch squares - its very addictive! xxx
Kate, lol, your ironing board cover looks like every other quilter/sewers in the world. A tip from a fellow quilter that I have been doing is to lay a piece of flannelette on the ironing board and press the pieces and blocks on that. What a difference it makes. Making crumb quilts is one of my favourite things. Enjoy!
an excellent tip - I made that cover years ago - I really do need a new one - all that spray starch takes its toll. But a flannelette covering - sounds perfect! xxx
Hi, just love listening to you. I found you to be very relaxing. I adore shades of pink. I am responding to your request for your Shasing or background fabric. I studied the various 4. Inch squares and I have found that I am leaning to and very much like the purple that I see in a majority of your squares. I am of the. Conclusion the purple Background would carry the " wacky. " patterns of your squares and provide an individual Strength and beauty to your project Enjoy your journey. And the peaceful work it can bring. I also am a human who loves my four legged fur person. Well, here's to the finished project. Signing off Scott's wife Vickie 🙋♀️
well hello Scots wife! this reminds me of a road near my Dad's place called .... Ralph's Wife's Lane which always makes me laugh! I am editing the quilt video today and I hope you won't be too mad at me! but thank you for your considered suggestions! xxx
You have probably figured it all out by now, but black looks phenomenal with red or pink plus so does grey. Have fun, you are such an inspiration. Thanks
Have never made or done quilting.. But you have given me the bug to make a quilt. But I dont have any scrap material. Hubby said Oh no. Perhaps I shouldnt go down that rabbit hole. As I have a wool stash to get rid of first. But, I might buy pre-cut squares as Spotlight have LOTS.
Hi, this is Esther from Wisconsin. I simply love watching your channel. Your style of quilting is refreshing! I really hate playing by the rules. LOL I know you like pink and green but if you did a black back round the red and pink would really pop.
Thank you for the shout out! Spending the afternoon sewing scraps together is so relaxing. These type of blocks are my favorite because there are no hard rules. As long as they don’t fall apart you can sew them anyway you wish. I love wonky blocks too. You have lots and lots of pink and red scraps. What about an aqua for the sashing? I do like your idea of making the sashing scrappy also. You have plenty of time to decide.
love your ironing board cover it is much loved :) I have only hand stitched quilts before a few months ago so loving all the ideas you are sharing, I think red/orange or blues would be the colours I would choose, Have a beautiful week Kate thank you x
Thanks - I am going to see which of these suggestions looks best - next time I post about this quilt - we will see the results of the poll! you have a great week too! xxx
So I’m watching this July 2024 and I’m in the midst of making my “Terry” quilt and thinking how down the line all those scraps will be fodder for your own Terry quilt. And I think a T-shirt that sez “wonky is good” would be appropriate attire on the LGS🤣
Amazing use of scraps. It's going to be interesting to see what you create and what color you choose for sashing I personally like the green but that makes it more Christmas like.
I just love & enjoy your video Your tutorials is very clear. Glad I'v subscribed to your channel. Keep up the wonderful sharing. Tq, Kate. Love from Malaysia.
Black with all the pink and red! I would love that, but thats me! Maybe you need some more time to think about it! Lots of succes, thanks for sharing! 👍
haha!!! I JUST said red!!! How's that for great minds. I love scrap quilts but I'm so OCD, the blocks look contrived. I want scrappy! I guess I'll just have to throw caution to the wind and have fun. Your's is so beautiful. Love all the colour. I'd love to see the progress. Just pop it into the odd video so we can keep up with you. LOL Have a great day, Kate!!
I will Cheryl - it seems everything I do becomes a series! I think this will too - It's only going to happen because i can't get into the garden - once the spring is here it will be all about the garden and less about the crafts! But that is still a long way off! xxx
After watching the last instalment first, I couldn’t work out how you did those scrappy squares but as usual it’s so much simpler when you see it done. Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Kate, I love seeing the opening of your videos with the duck flying across the water. I’d love to live there! I also love your blocks. I’d use gray for sashing.....well really almost any color would look pretty with your blocks, you just need the right hue. I think that green is just off somehow.
What a great project, Kate! A good way to be productive over the winter before the garden wakes up. I need to find a project, too, instead of wasting the long winter days when going outside is not my first choice. Thank you for your inspiring videos!
Pink and red. Hmm someone just gave me a bag of long strips.i was thinking about a rug. But now maybe a quilt along with my scraps it may be enough.. It's a fun quilt your making I love it.
Fantastic! Good to have a scrappy on the go, its such fun putting all the fabrics together. Will look forward to seeing this progress on and off, its my kind of sewing! Your ironing board cover is pretty much like mine, well used!
Good Kate. What a wonderful surprise to your video. Love your squares. I made wonky log cabin squares. At least 100 or more. I haven't squared them up yet. But some day I will. Maybe you'll inspire me to finish it. Have a good day. 😻😼😽😾
I like the wonky ones too !! I have always done the muslin sashing but a color would be nice, it's the deciding that's hard isn't it... can't wait to see the finished product.... thanks for sharing.
One video of Kate is like one hour of therapy, and it is free!
Love you and your know how

I am very maths challenged Kate, thanks for showing another amazing quilt, you have certainly given the fabric its place.
I believe the scrappy quilts are my favorite! I can get lost in arching your videos and not having to think about piecing together the scraps.
Say what you will, but I am CONVINCED that Norma was a celebrity in her past life. I just love her to bits and the way that she needs to be front and centre for every video. Morning kate! I'm a 60 's flower child so the pink and green look good to me. Have great day. Thanks for filming.
thank goodness for the 60's! the more colour the better! xxx
The wonky shapes make the design even better.
My opinion is that the color Sashing should be black. The pink and red would pop very nicely
too late! did you watch on? xxxxx
Oh Kate, Thank you!! I Love your tutorials, and your beautiful creativity! And I am a cat Lover too! ❤🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛👍👍🌞
I just love looking at your colorful squares Kate. Just all so gorgeous! Crumb quilting one of my favourite to do

I love love listening to you and the lime green sofa is very cozy.
I'll do it again with tiny stitches and be happier. )))
Yes crumb quilts are great fun.
I can't imagine having to put off the ironing because its too hot!!! greetings from your natal home! xxx
Thanks Kate. A bit cooler today so I could catch up with my blocks. So happy to be one of your people. Love Wendi
This was posted on the month that started my voluntary lock down. Better safe than sorry.....and sure enough, I'm still here! Thankfully you are tool :-)
Thankfully many of us are still here enjoying the adventures of Kate!
i have never made a quilt would love to make one someday, love the colours the red and pink I love red!
They come out great. Oh I love your jumper a real quilters one lots of threads on it .
I too just found you and love watching you Kate! I also found your Last Homely Garden RUclips piece about your pond
Love your videos Kate....I'm a beginner quilter and your relaxing style is brilliant. I also love your cats. 👍😁
Stay crafty.❤xo💜xo💙xo💛xo💖xo💚
welcome! I'm glad you found me to! xxx
I meant sashing! I also meant your in two places not “you”. LOL
I'm just watching your first scrappy quilt video from 2 years ago...the pink and red
I just finished my own first scrappy and it turned out really nicely...here's hoping you did get a new ironing board cover...lol
I have just happened on your channel and I love your scrappy quilt that you are making. I also love your kitty quilting helper! I have a cat helper that likes to help me quilt, knit and crochet.
I have to hide my knitting from one of the cats because she likes to chew my (wooden) needles - she has ruined loads! xxx Sadie!
👍 second time I've watched this wonderful quilt making always a delight xx
Love the red and pink...my personal favorites. I think it would look amazing with aqua sashing. That combination is always so eye-catching.
another fabulous suggestion - I am going to make a not of them all in my 'quilting notebook' (which sounds more organised than it really is) and try each one!
I've got over 100 now! xxx
Love your very first quilt and the history you shared. We have relatives from Northumberland.
You look gorgeous in the navy sweater! It’s your color. Beautiful. From Texas. US
Hello Kate, Hello Norma yr looking so gorgeous today.
I think that a very pale grey sashing could go very nicely with pinks. I love your videos. Regards from Argentina. Lucille Barnes
For me - I hate doing as I am told or what the rules say! ha ha!!! I like how this is so quick to construct and no weird measuring - though I am coming to that part next! lets see if my sashing is straight eh? xxxxx
Love the wonks too!! I have so many scraps too!!💗💗💗👍
Yay! Robin and Bonnie! Snowing here in British Columbia as well and I'm on my lunch break at work. Have a fastastic day.
all my snow has gone - but its too cold to garden - back to the red and pink fabric then! xxx
I 💖 you. I ❣️you’re ironing board cover! I 💗 every last bit of your house. We are 2 months apart in age & you give me so much inspiration!!!
hello - 63 is rather wonderful! my house is very messy - I only film the bits that aren't! ha ha!!! thank you for such a lovely comment! xxx
Thank you Cathy! I really enjoy what i do - so there will be more of this and that! and yes! be adventurous! xxx
I like the white background. It makes it pop!
How lovely! I really enjoy how these connections are made between like-minded folk all over the world - I am slowly finding My People! xxxx
Scrappy quilts are the best. I love being able to use a lot of scraps. Although scraps multiple in the night, like bunnies. I call these free fall fun quilts Picasso inspired.
I can imagine him rolling over!!!!
Dear Kate, I really love your videos. Can't wait for each new one you make. I am not avery good cook, but do like your cooking videos. 🤗
I really enjoyed this one Kate. You are a very good teacher. I'm cutting pieces of paper now for a quilt made out of old flannel jammies and shirts.
thank you! I have taught various things all my life - I think I just like talking!! xxx (ask my kids!) xxx
Thanks for sharing.
whip en up on a whim - perfect for this quilt! you are very welcome! xxx
You are so amazing to listen too, your brave about learning any thing, you just seam to impress me w all that u do any say .I have learn a lot from you, my Dog Harley loves to watch your videos he is in love w your Cats. Keep up the great videos, God bless from USA Michigan, Kathyleen M
Purple sashing would be nice. Love your ideas!!!! You are great for us Americans as we get stuck in certain ways of doing things!!!
Maybe the softest baby pink for the background colour.
It would make your lovely colourful blocks pop!💗
Howdy!!! It was very nice to hear back from you. Interesting to hear about your childhood memories of the Lane near your Dad,s house.
No worries about your sash selection. My point of view via the UTube viedo can be different from what you can actually observe in person. After all it is your creation.
Can't wait to see the finished project. 😺👩🎤

I am so happy when I see other quilters with their four-legged assistants!
I don't think you can be a quilter if you haven't got a cat can you ? its the rules! xxx
I studied the various
4. Inch squares and I have found that I am leaning to and very much like the purple that I see in a majority of your squares.
I am of the. Conclusion the purple
Background would carry the
" wacky. " patterns of your squares and provide an individual
Strength and beauty to your project
Enjoy your journey. And the peaceful work it can bring. I also am a human who loves my four legged fur person. Well, here's to the finished project.

well hello Scots wife! this reminds me of a road near my Dad's place called .... Ralph's Wife's Lane which always makes me laugh! I am editing the quilt video today and I hope you won't be too mad at me! but thank you for your considered suggestions! xxx
Thanks Kate! When I saw all those scraps, I thought, if Kate doesn't know what to do with them, what hope do I have? So happy you figured it out...
You have probably figured it all out by now, but black looks phenomenal with red or pink plus so does grey. Have fun, you are such an inspiration. Thanks
Kate, those blocks are gorgeous already! What a fantastic quilt this will be. :)
I hope so! I made a lot more today - it is very addictive! xxx
It’s OK ,It’s got bunnies on it , love your work you have given me ideas to use up my scraps .Norma not around today .Daphne Australia .
Had to have my Kate fix today, getting settled in..
when i looked up i thought you were wearing a fur coat . It was your lovely cat😅
Thanks - I am going to see which of these suggestions looks best - next time I post about this quilt - we will see the results of the poll! you have a great week too! xxx
I absolutely love your creative process ,it is fun to watch and listen to .
I’m just watching this video in 2022. What a great quilt you could make for your granddaughter. Hope it’s what you did with it if you finished it 😊
I just love & enjoy your video
Your tutorials is very clear.
Glad I'v subscribed to your channel. Keep up the wonderful sharing. Tq, Kate.
Love from Malaysia.
Black with all the pink and red! I would love that, but thats me! Maybe you need some more time to think about it! Lots of succes, thanks for sharing! 👍
I love watching you Kate. You are very interesting and I love your home. Your home is very homey 💗
I think that black or grey sashing would-be SO striking with your pink and red 4" squares!!
I think that green is just off somehow.
yes - that green is wrong - I will try everything I've got - there's no rush - and yes - thank you - I do so love living here xxxx
What a great project, Kate! A good way to be productive over the winter before the garden wakes up. I need to find a project, too, instead of wasting the long winter days when going outside is not my first choice. Thank you for your inspiring videos!
Hi from Missouri USA! My ironing board cover is an old bath towel. It stays in place and when it gets icky I just throw it in the washing machine.
Pink and red. Hmm someone just gave me a bag of long strips.i was thinking about a rug. But now maybe a quilt along with my scraps it may be enough.. It's a fun quilt your making I love it.
I actually really like the green fabric. It makes it pop
the aqua/teal works? xxx
@@thelasthomelyhouse yes it really does xxxx
I love your colors and patterns. Very artistic and creative
Fantastic! Good to have a scrappy on the go, its such fun putting all the fabrics together. Will look forward to seeing this progress on and off, its my kind of sewing! Your ironing board cover is pretty much like mine, well used!
nice to know I'm not alone - cruelty to ironing board covers - it's our crime! xxx
Once I am committed to a colour there is no going back - so I'll audition all the suggestions and we'll see what works best! xxx
I just found you. I’ve been wanting to quilt. I love the colors that you are using. Can’t wait to see it when you have it finished.
so happy you found me! welcome! xxx
