- It had been a couple of years since Warbirds Squadron 4 visited Mike Kellner and his B-17 E project. Covid was the cause of that. I drove out to Marengo to talk with some of the volunteers.

Chuck - I found your channel a few years ago and have been following your updates on the Desert Rat since then. Thank you for covering and keeping us informed of the progress that Mike and his volunteers are making in bringing this piece of aviation history back to life…

Thanks so much for letting us know what's happening to Desert Rat. It's great to see younger people getting involved with WWII aircraft. I hope someone is recording all those WWII stories and memories from all those WWII vets. They won't be around much longer so it would be nice if they lived on through their stories and memories from a long time ago.
The young people really seemed interested in the project.

My grandfather Captain John William Anderson was a Bombardier and kept a classified log book of his 50 missions. I have a copy.
I want to ride in honor of him in the Bombardier compartment some day.

Hello :::: Thank you Chuck !!! Glad you still rocking and rolling !!! At 72 I just got a new 220 Amp Mig welder. It may be my last frontier of learning curve for me. I only need to drive 2 miles to scrap steel place to buy cut offs to learn on. I have a machine shop 3 and 5 miles away. Take Care !!!!
