I love creepy-heavy Spiritbox. It’s more fitting of their band name and to their roots. Cellar Door reminds me a lot of stuff like Beauty of Suffering and I think it is their best song since Holy Roller. This was a much needed comeback for me. Courtney has always had a creepy mind and I think Mike compliments it favorably with his guitar-work.
THANK YOU OMG. Nobody EVER talks about Beauty of Suffering... and they just say Holy Roller is their heaviest, and I personally think BoS is heavier than that song, play wise and emotion-provoke wise. I know BoS has singing and screaming and Holy Roller is all screaming but I just think Courtney in BoS is just insane with how she sounds so pissed off, you can really feel it. Holy Roller is a banger, don't get me wrong and it makes you feel shit too. I know it brought more fans in and maybe they didn't listen to SB's earlier stuff but ugh lol. I eyeroll every time when people say Holy Roller is their heaviest song of all time. I would kill for them to play Beauty of Suffering live, or at least a new one-take posted (one was posted 5y ago) especially now with how much Courtney has progressed as a vocalist and has only gone up since the release of their first EP, and her days in IWABO.
@EmiiHates RIGHT. they have songs that are heavier and better than holy roller. like BoS, belcarra, aphids, silk in the strings, and now angel eyes and cellar door.
in the Mara Effect there weren't many of thos moments tho - and that was pretty much their root/origin. So with this they rather go back to Holy Roller time
This breakdown left me thinking of because the core of the Earth is composed of iron and nickel, basically everything on our planet is around metalcore. Thank you Spiritbox, I am calm and happy now!
Song is such a banger for sure. I get what you mean about not NEEDING it, but I always appreciate when they do heavy stuff. All of the stuff they do is always so great. Johnny's cover of it is so amazing too!
While I love this and Holy Roller, the best heavy Spiritbox song to me, which I feel is insanely slept on, is Silk In The Strings. That to me was already Holy Roller 2.0 because it's got that groove while also being brutal af
10/10. heaviest song theyve done, even lyrically and in the vibe, theyre back to that mara effect'/belcarra spooky vibe on this one, i love how drone-y and sludgy it is, and that they pivot styles from song to song. theyre absolutely my favorite modern metal band.
I’m glad I was scrolling through RUclips one day and came across your reaction to Circle With Me because I’ve been a fan of both you and Spiritbox ever since!
I was questioning the ending at first then heard the start to Jaded... reminds me of the continuous smooth transitions Rock/EDM etc CDs of the early 2000s.
Your first time hearing this was my first time hearing this! I had such a stank face on for that breakdown and you really got me with "She f***ing broke the EARTH"!
What I love about this band is it's heavy but it's also soft and detailed at the same time with all the different layers. It's actually just beautiful. 🖤
A Spiritbox, ice nine collab would be killer in my head. Ice nine leading these massive epic chorus’s and filming style with Spirtbox’s creepy and heavies for plot to the video and breakdown 🔥🔥
Love this new song! The first like 15 seconds confuse my brain for some reason but I love it too. The ambient outro leads perfectly into Jaded if you listen to the back to back.
I didn't really like this song when it first debuted, but I think I just wasn't in the mood for super heavy at the time. This has grown on me so much. I absolutely like this better than holy roller. Such a sick song.
this song, rhythmically, is probably one of the most interesting songs to me in general... especially as a drummer, i find it to be VERY intriguing.. i believe during the breakdown the drummer is in 4/4 and the guitars are in 13/8 ? its SO cool
Bro, I absolutely love Belcarra, it's so good. I've been a fan for such a long time, since just as The Singles Collection came out in 2019. I heard Trust Fall first and heard her hit that low af note and I was in love and haven't stopped since.
Dude as soon as I heard this song I was like "Nic is for sure gonna snap his neck listening to this" good thing you prepared in advance XD, Spiritbox till the end
That clean tone was once a staple in the earlier days of dark sounding djent when that started kicking off. Older Vildhjarta, Kadinja, and Fellsilent. Love that he brought it back and I respect it!
Brutal track this, Spiritbox never fail to amaze. Pure stankface for that intro, chorus & breakdown, good luck to all in the pit for this one, heavy af and it’s still as intense after many listens. Incredible band
To be fair, as a non Canadian, I'm honestly impressed at how Canadian Music is either absolutely awesome or absolutely awful with exactly nothing in the middle of the spectrum
@@Jalabhar_Xho I'm just giving him shit... They're all Canadians so I think they get it lmao. I'm not a SB fan much, But props to them for blowing up & pushing Metal onwards.
I wanna point out to those who wonder why this hits harder than other songs even though it's "caveman" and simple "four on the floor" is because of that dissonant/electronic hums in the background which pushes the bass. I hear garage bands try similiar breakdowns and it lacks "oomph" because of that
I absolutely love how if you were just watching the video without audio, you'd think Courtney was singing sweetly to you hahah
But she is singing softly. Like mama bear humming lullabies so her cubs can sleep
She's always sorta done this with their videos. I think it's great too :D
I'm hyped to see horror elements coming back.
I love the contrast of it. It's so fitting every time she does it.
I just logged in imma try it lol
😂😂
Spiritbox has achieved new levels of Brootality with this one

ony the last minute of the last Song - iconic yeah, but not the general Music back then
4:00 damn that breakdown is heavy as hell
Spiritbox makes these beautiful songs and then every once in a while they remind us that they won't hesitate to beat the shit out of us
Even the chorus is a breakdown 🔥🔥🔥
Bruh the chorus is heavier than the breakdown
The chorus is just a nasty breakdown 😩🥵 the whole song gives me Mara Effect and Electric Cross vibes and I'm ALL ABOUT IT
These days I’ve heard breakdowns softer than this song’s chorus good lord
3:50 Courtney smashing the earth to summon Gojira for that heavy breakdown riff

SILK! YESSSSS!
bro silk in the strings is so underrated its so good
Silk is easily the best from EB. My favorite song from them is still Bleach Bath though
Yeah silk in the strings is really phenomenal yet rarely talked about, cant even find a good guitar tab for it
So the beauty of suffering is a joke to you? wtf
Courtney on her Wednesday Addams fit, Mike on his bouncy boy trampoline 😎🎸 this is perfect!
I was thinking about it, too, daaaamn! xD
Wasn’t Wednesday born on Friday the 13th? And what day did this video come out? M hm. You’re welcome.

Love how this transitions into jaded

Its awesome bro
How can this band keep getting better and better and better and better.... their mix of styles and vibes and songs is just so overall perfect.
Mosh pits with this one is gonna be madness. I really need to see these guys live
Cant wait, next february is going to be my second time in Milan..CAN’T WAAAAIT
I've lost how many times I've listened to this and it's not old yet. I still headbang and stankface to it. That breakdown is so EPIC
Nah, it's some of their best work right here.
I love their entire catalog. I find them super versatile.
I needed this ignorant heavy for sure. Get the anger out and move along. Lol
I think I still prefer Jaded but this song is definitely growing on me!
Same I like melodic
Same here
Jaded might be their best ever
@@JmR201Blessed Be is still my personal fave
I also love the fact how the song perfectly fades into Jaded. So you wont stop there, you'll listen TO EVEN MORE SPIRITBOX! :D
This song is a breakdown that needs a breakdown counter for the other breakdowns within the whole breakdown 🤘🏼
yesss it really is
Your first time hearing this was my first time hearing this! I had such a stank face on for that breakdown and you really got me with "She f***ing broke the EARTH"!
The way this is the heaviest song they have ever made and fades out like mara effect or something... Sooo goood i love it
Belcarra is my favorite as well. This one is my favorite at the moment but Belcarra is next level.
Getting a yelp ad in the middle of the breakdown😂
WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS REACTION ALL WEEKEND! It’s such a stupidly good stanky creepy song, huh!? Love the channel!
I dig the "groovy" stuff too, Nik - you should do a "Top 10 Grooviest Metal Songs" list!
What I love about this band is it's heavy but it's also soft and detailed at the same time with all the different layers. It's actually just beautiful. 🖤
Belcarra was the first Spiritbox song I ever heard, this takes me back to that and I absolutely love it

"Is IT a COUN-TRY song!?" at 0:17 had Paulie Shore vibes BUUUUUUUUDDY

(You know it's good when the chorus is as heavy as most modern breakdowns)
This sounded better than almost anything else from them that I’ve heard. I dig it.
Yes! Spookybox is back in the house just in time for Halloween
I fucking love Spiritbox. Very excited for a possible KoRnbox tour after seeing them on social media with Ray & Head.
Nik is so epic, his 54.1% of subscribers counteract the 46.9 % so hard that an extra 1% of viewers are summoned into existence. Bravo, sir.

I love Courtney’s creepy vibe. The band going hard in the background, and she’s just standing there like, “I guess I’ll sing” 😂 Bold and awesome vibe
I've heard heavy cellar doors before but this is by far the best sounding one

Nik's feelings on Spiritbox pretty much exactly match up with my own, and that's why I trust his opinion about anything musically related.
The people who keep calling this Holy Roller 2.0 are probably the same people whose favorite band is Nirvana but only heard Smells Like Teen Spirit
The outro ambiance is 100% Mike’s new plug-in. The reverbs & delays are mega.

This is what I call heavy music when people ask the difference between heavy and hard hitting. This hits like a weighted blanket.
Guitar World just dropped a playthrough of this by Mike in an empty arena... he's such a riff god 🙌
Such an epic song....plus i love that her face stays in a rested position the whole time 🤪🤘🤘🤘🤘
5:52 that key is all Courtney see’s in her dreams.
