Double the Henzie double the fun! Henzie is currently my favorite commander deck to play.
Small note, Henzie reduces any "blitz" cost so, when you cast Calderia Guardian at 32:05 it would've been reduced by 1.
Wheeler is in, Wheeler is hot, I want some Wheeler so Wheeler it's gonna be.
I'm both incredibly happy that Wheeler did a Gruul Defender tribal and also incredibly sad that apparently high-toughness may be my niche area of commander knowledge.

Just gotta note that Weathered Sentinels could not be blitzed because it doesn't have mana value 4 or greater.
When Ben mentioned a wall that could kill Hans, my first thought was Wall of Razors. It's a 4/1 first strike defender for (1)(R); it's a fantastic early game blocker, but I guess I'm the only one crazy enough to consider it in a wall deck.
I haven't watched yet, I just got to the guests and HELL yeah GermanGaryOak and Wheeler rock. And now back to watching.

I love Henzie! Have been trying to fix my list for a while, it's challenging!
Henzie is hard because there is a delicate balance between creatures you want to blitz and ones you want to hard cast. I am close to finalizing my list as well.
Ruthless technomancer is one of my favorite adds thus far. Get some extra value out of them and potentially recur stuff.
Henzie is definitely challenging to build around. I hated the precon and found I would just rather hard cast most things. I revised the deck to recur the same creatures repeatedly while playing with the graveyard. Now he is one of my favorites.
it took me weeks to narrow my list from 150 to 100... so many cards in my 'almost' list
About 20 mins into the game when Ben got the 1 card that'd kill his commander...he had Portcullis Vine in play.
Activate the Vine to sac the new creature, draw a card and keep his commander.
Well spotted! None of us saw that but I think we're cool with the Nimbus killing Hans. It wouldn't have had an epic redemption arc otherwise!
Your guests are always SO GOOD! Wheeler is always a welcome face, and I am excited to see mroe from GermanGaryOak. Huzzah!

Ooh, double Toolbox! Henzie is one of my absolute favorite precons of all time, as soon as it got spoiled I started planning my upgrades. Also for what it’s worth, Henzie also reduces the printed blitz costs on cards like Caldaia Guardian, it’s even better than you think!

The hardest I’ve ever laughed while watching this show was when Kibler swung out and decked himself. I’m not sure which guest has the highest lols per episode but it’s definitely either Wheeler or Tappy
Olivia also tutored for a land on Game Knignts against Josh, Craig. and a Loading Ready Run guy because she was stuck with only about 4 lands for most of the game, it's when she played Etrata the Silencer

I haven't even watched the episode yet. So I don't know anything that happens. But I see a henzie "toolbox" Torre! And I love that. I just actually kinda got into commander within the last year or so because I pulled a henzie from a booster and I was like well. This guy looks fun I'll make a deck. And now commander is my favorite format. Used to dislike it but I love it now. And henzie is my pet deck that I keep tweaking and upgrading and getting cool cards for. I just love the blitz and sacing for my benefit play style along with recursion.

A dead look in her eye carrying bags full of late nights, hard times, and harder drinks. A hand on her hip while she pours you a fresh cup of coffee. As ash collects on the tip of her cigarette, ready to fall onto your half eaten slice of pecan pie. A warmth in her tone just beneath her cold demeanor that makes you feel like she would care about your sad stories but break a coffee pot over your head if you crossed her.
Respect for playing with precon power Ali. No wonder Olivia has more wins ;) But this was one wall of a win.

I think people used to eat chalk during the industrial revolution, the poor wanted white bread, but couldn't afford it, so they just added lots of white powders to the brown flour until the bread looked white. This was not a good plan, whereas pine bark bread is apparently just fine, so yeah?

Edit: There was a change to the rules thanks to Serra Paragon, and now he functions as you would expect! The creatures you blitz in keep blitz indefinitely without needing Henzie to stay on the board anymore!

Henzie is in such a weird spot. He didn't work properly on release, and the rules change they did to fix him makes him a huge target for pre-combat removal. The creatures you Blitz in with his ability only keep Blitz as long as he stays on the battlefield, meaning they will lose Haste and the ability to draw a card if he is removed (they are static abilities tied to having the Blitz keyword), while the delayed triggered ability set up by casting with Blitz will still cause you to sacrifice that creature at the beginning of the next end step.
He's still cool, and if your group allows you can play him as intended rather than how he mechanically functions, but that isn't a guarantee. The mechanical quirk is something you should be aware of if you decide to play with him, and including some protection for him is a good idea.
It's always bugged me to no end that they changed the actual rules instead of just giving Henzie errata.

@57:55. How are you able to blitz Weathered Sentinals with Henzie? It only has 3 CMC. With Henzie you can only blitz creatures with discount that have a mana value of 4 or bigger.
