Especially when Brian sees the player with a commander that basically plays as an X cost has a mana flare out. Spencer will get more value out of that than the rest of the table as the game goes on. It's not symmetrical because of the matchup
maybe don't be like Brian in your home games where having the game be extra short sometimes is not that big of a deal and will be a different experience

Community is my favorite tv show and I did see both Spencer and Jacob first there so when they introduced themselves by their bit parts in community I lost my shit. Sidenote, Spencer shows up in a second episode of season 5 as well but just in the background of a picture of the old timey pictures club as a The Shining reference.

This episode was great. I watched it with my wife, who just started messing with Commander as well (just 1v1 so far). This made her excited to play it more. She and I loved the pace of gameplay and how you all help each other understand interactions and cards. Keep it up, we're fans for sure!

In case anyone is curious, hinterland harbor doesn’t enter untapped with yavimaya you need to have a forest as it enters the battlefield for it to be untapped (which means the game decides if it’s tapped or untapped before it becomes a forest)
Doesn't it ? Because according to 614.12, replacement effects consider continuous effects that would apply to the permanent as it would be onto the battlefield to decide how they apply. EDIT: so, after checking, harbor enters tapped with Yavimaya (and no other land under your control) but untapped with things like Blood Moon. The channel Judging FtW has an deeper explanation with Urborg and Isolated Chapel as an example (DDR#38)

Also, 614.12a only refers to replacement effects that require a choice (meaning a choice a player has to make, such as choosing a color, not just something the game has to check to be true or not). @@bouboulroz Oh yeah you are right that was a bad example, after doing some research I think that rule refers mostly to things that will make a permanent enter with additional counters like rhythm of the wild, it is just to verify if the permanent entering is a creature before it enters the battlefield so it can enter with the +1/+1 counter or haste. That rule is just to explain how the game knows what is entering before it enters but the game still will not take the permanent in consideration like being on the battlefield to fulfill the requirements of replacement effects.

So crazy thing about Brian's first land drop of the game, despite itself being a Forest type it would still enter the BF tapped. That is a Replacement Effect and they look forward in time and so the land will not see a Forest on the BF before it enters and so it will enter as a tapped land.
All my buddies were so excited to grab me on friday to say that Brian played Beluna! I just got into the game recently and i built Beluna as my first deck! I'm now playing Gorion adventures and having tonnes of fun copying spells!

Prossh was my 4th deck out of about 30+ now but by and far my favorite to play so seeing Prossh love from my most relatable guest (love ya Spencer you've been a huge influence on my DMing) is such a treat.
