    This was a wonderful tutorial. Yours are one of the most beautiful wreaths I've ever seen. You gave very clear instructions and the reasons for your choices. I don't have that kind of pinecone in my area, but I now understand the process now. I am looking forward to collecting pinecones and seeing what I'm able to create. A big thank you. I also subscribed. 😊

    Love this!! Now, to get my son to run out in Grandmas woods to grab me 200 pine cones LOL!!! Money, money will def factor in and still be cheaper than buying the cones and im not sure how much theyd shrink if theyre processed in a mass factory?! lOL!
    But thanks so much for this! Im glad you added that you CAN dry it indoors.....I put this outside of my apartment building...someone is DEF stealing it! Lol! They stole my neighbors wreath right off her door! She does live in the back apartments, right by the back exit door, but still, so many people get packages stolen that are left out front of the bldg, sadly! Glad it can can dry inside as not everyone has a place to leave something outside and I think A LOT of people forget that! =)

    I finally did one last year from a grapevine wreath I had gotten on clearance a few years before. I collected pinecones, pods, needles, leaves, etc., and stuck them in the grapevine wherever it would allow. Since I used no glue I was able to remove the natural elements afterward and put them back in nature as food/homes for the critters (as I always told the Girl Scout troop I lead, Take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints). Nothing to store except the wreath I had to begin with.

    @Sustainmycrafthabit if I wanted to buy more of the wire frames in bulk on Amazon which ones would you recommend? Some are not raised and I do not want to purchase the wrong ones could you please point me in the right direction? I was looking at the 12 in a bundle 14 inch wreath frames?

    Several people have asked me about making pine cone wreaths. I’m going to send them here! I assume you ship pinecones to U.S. customers on your Etsy shop?

  • @SLam-ve3yp
    @SLam-ve3yp День назад

    That's tempting to do and I would try to soak the wreath in water and borax to get a crystalized look.

    • @Sustainmycrafthabit
      @Sustainmycrafthabit  День назад

      That’s really interesting! I think however they’d close up again and then the crystals would “stick” them shut.

      @@Sustainmycrafthabit I was thinking more the tip of them (1/4 or 1/3 inch).

    Does it matter if my wire form is completely flat?

    • @Sustainmycrafthabit
      @Sustainmycrafthabit  День назад

      Yes- you'll want a rounded one otherwise you won't get the same spreading out of the pine cones.

    very nice! however these are not pine cones. They are other conifer cones. Pine cones are a lot woodier and putting them in water won't change their shape.
