To think this all started because Red didn’t choose charmander. Squirtle would not have gone out to train and slain an innocent caterpie ultimately resulting in a war. Charmander’s strong personality would have eventually made him Reds legendary Charizard. Charmander would not have killed red in an act of aggression to retrieve his teammates. It all would have been perfectly normal, but noooo, Red decided he wanted a flotation device and a slight advantage against the first and only gym squirtle would be useful in.
Yeah right, like Charmander would tolerate the way this Red treats his pokemon, just look at how he treated Squirtle, do you really think he would be able to make him evolved to charizard? Red would've died anyways, the only diffence is that Charmandr wouldn't get a chance to kill Pablo or Hitmonchan.

But Squirtle was so often betrayed by Charmander that he already made up his mind about his motivations when he saw his continuing bloodlust, thinking that he will never change. Fun fact: when butterfree wanted to have golbat use a move, it said co- in the subtitles, meaning that golbat used confuse ray, and it is learned in level 21 in generation 1, meaning that golbat was probably not listening due to lack of badges, great detail
@ryantan3070 that doesn't necessarily imply charmander is alive, the series doesn't have to end if he died there it could have continuated with Squirtle and Bulbasaur moving on and defeating MissingNO themselfs.
i like how the geography is accurate. i don't know what a "click" is in terms of distance but they were north of route 8 and pidgeotto pointed in the direction of viridian forest, which is directly west of where they were. charmander went east instead which was where lavender town is. nice attention to detail that really makes me appreciate this series
Looking back after episode 10, it's astonishing how much character work is actually in this. Charmander straddles the line between Anti-Hero and Anti-Villain, Squirtle thinks he's calm and reasonable when in reality he's a hypocritical and judgmental jerk at times who's unwilling to take responsibility for his actions or make his own choices, and the Caterpie leader, who ends up becoming far more monstrous than even Charmander in his/her pursuit of revenge.
This man has put 7 years in this series, and now he is bringing out the true potential. I hate how people are salty because Charmander died, even though it was perfect for the story, or how the story is sErioUs now
@Breakaway-ic5gj I don't see much people being salty about Charmander's death. In fact, a lot of comments are praising Shippidge on how much the story evolved (heh!) from what it was 8 years ago. As Turtwig said, this is a dark story from the beginning, we just ignored it because we find it funny.

Actually Episode 9 was released in September 2019, most of the episodes came out once a year. Most likely the next episode will come out around December this year or early in 2022
I feel bad that Squirtle attacked Charmander so brutally in the last video like that. Since he doesn't realize that Charmander sees him as a friend, and that Charmander was obsessing over finding him, Squirtle just thought that he busted in and killed all those Caterpie to get closer to evolving. ("I just wanted to-" "To evolve, I know!") Like, he literally walked in to see the room on fire, dozens of dead bodies, and Charmander in the middle of it lol. I hope they make up 😔

Looking back after episode 10, it's astonishing how much character work is actually in this. Charmander straddles the line between Anti-Hero and Anti-Villain, Squirtle thinks he's calm and reasonable when in reality he's a hypocritical and judgmental jerk at times who's unwilling to take responsibility for his actions or make his own choices, and the Caterpie leader, who ends up becoming far more monstrous than even Charmander in his/her pursuit of revenge.
And then there’s Bulbasaur, who has and always will be, just Bulbasaur
So……I guess wartortle will have to fight the gods
This man has put 7 years in this series, and now he is bringing out the true potential. I hate how people are salty because Charmander died, even though it was perfect for the story, or how the story is sErioUs now
@Breakaway-ic5gj I don't see much people being salty about Charmander's death. In fact, a lot of comments are praising Shippidge on how much the story evolved (heh!) from what it was 8 years ago. As Turtwig said, this is a dark story from the beginning, we just ignored it because we find it funny.

I'm pretty sure most people loved Charmander lol?? And I did too. Not being conventionally likable can and usually does make a character charming.
@raccoonchild I know a lot of people liked Charmander, but most probably still didn't like him as much back then though. (And what I mean by back then was like the very 1st-3rd episode, where he was just seen as an asshole)

Charmander was my favorite on the first episode bc he was mean and unlikeable and cuz he was actually being smart it's a fight your supposed to beat the he'll out eachother charmander understood that he saw no point in turns he wants to end the battle fast and just get his exp by any means necessary charmander is the best and just like this series the best animated pokemon series I can't tell u how many times iv watched starter squad over and over and I hope me doing that gives extra support to our talented creator and genius behind starter squad
