Fun fact: when butterfree wanted to have golbat use a move, it said co- in the subtitles, meaning that golbat used confuse ray, and it is learned in level 21 in generation 1, meaning that golbat was probably not listening due to lack of badges, great detail

Yeah, be didn't care about evolving anymore in that case. He truly cared and was worried for Squirtle's well being.
So true, this is one of those misunderstanding moments that make me so angry since they could've been avoided when you just give the other person a chance to explain himself before acting.
But Squirtle was so often betrayed by Charmander that he already made up his mind about his motivations when he saw his continuing bloodlust, thinking that he will never change.
Seeing now the 10th episode makes me even sadder since Squirtle never got to know Charmander true intentions...

Alternative: Red chooses Bulbasaur and none of this ever happens, he eventually evolves him to Ivysaur, beats all the gyms, evolves him again, and wins the League. Then he challenges the Elite Four, becomes champion, and rules the world. While charmander and squirtle get chosen by blue and yellow, and they gain many skills and become Elite Four members. The Caterpie Army never gets enraged, and they all live a happy life.

I loved it it was a great video series The set I didn't like that the fact that Charmander died but I like that Squirtle evolved that was cool 😎 highly recommended for Pokemon fans😊

I'm pretty sure most people loved Charmander lol?? And I did too. Not being conventionally likable can and usually does make a character charming.

Charmander was my favorite on the first episode bc he was mean and unlikeable and cuz he was actually being smart it's a fight your supposed to beat the he'll out eachother charmander understood that he saw no point in turns he wants to end the battle fast and just get his exp by any means necessary charmander is the best and just like this series the best animated pokemon series I can't tell u how many times iv watched starter squad over and over and I hope me doing that gives extra support to our talented creator and genius behind starter squad

To think this all started because Red didn’t choose charmander. Squirtle would not have gone out to train and slain an innocent caterpie ultimately resulting in a war. Charmander’s strong personality would have eventually made him Reds legendary Charizard. Charmander would not have killed red in an act of aggression to retrieve his teammates. It all would have been perfectly normal, but noooo, Red decided he wanted a flotation device and a slight advantage against the first and only gym squirtle would be useful in.
