Pretty sweet ride. When watching the video it looks as your R/F Tire is on the Rim backwards for the rotational purpose. May want to have a look at that if you do not already know. Cool Build
Unfortunately life is a little crazy for me for the last couple years. Eventually there will be videos about rebuilding this car or building a version 2.0 but everything in time
Not sure if you know this but Dodge makes v8s as well it's amazing!!! That's crazy I've never seen someone put a Chevy engine in anything that's rare!. But I get it they are cheap and a good way to cut corners on any car project and very original.
Peter Berry I find that I get more power for the dollar out of a Chevy than a Dodge. Dodge parts are expensive and far and few between. Thanks for watching.
kylebeas well I guess the closest things to a hot rod that I've built are a 1966 Oldsmobile f85 with a olds 425 nickel big block w/45 degree cam a 1980 Cutlass supreme with a 1969 olds 455 big block. I've bill several other engine and what not and from that experience I truly believe a car's personality comes from the drivetrain there is absolutely nothing like an Oldsmobile big block just like there's nothing like a Dodge or Ford Buick or Pontiac the good old days GM was separate car companies in one division they all designed and fabricated their own Drive trains unlike Ford and Chrysler where all their brands carry the same drivetrain options don't get me wrong you are obviously very talented and the fact that you put a V8 engine in a Dodge Neon is astonishing that was the only thing bad I had to say about it was the fact that there is a Chevrolet engine in a Dodge I can walk out my door and trip over a Chevy engine they are very unoriginal and abundant in millions of numbers I've seen them put in the most rare cars on the planet they definitely bring the car project down a little bit and I have nothing against Chevrolet they build an amazing power plants I've built several myself they produce lots of power and are very inexpensive which is the other reason I would never use one it is way too easy to build I can literally go to an AutoZone and buy a half the engine right off the shelf very cheap if you ask me.
I guess I'm a glutton for punishment and a purist mixing brands has never been my thing nor has easy car builds I like unique different engine and respect their differences. And I cringe every time I'm sitting at a light with my Oldsmobile and some idiot yells through my window what do you got in that a Chevy big block it irks me to the max cuz obviously it says Oldsmobile all over the car I would have had to cut up the frame change the motor mounts and put completely different Transmission in it to even use a Chevrolet engine whereas I decided to keep the car original build it performance but keep a very rare super turbine 300 transmission that was only Built 2 years and keep the good old GM 12-bolt rear end in it it's the reason why people fell in love with the car so many years ago it's what gives the car its character and personality there's nothing else like it on the road.
That's nice man, buying a neon this weekend I may be doing the same thing I've been wanting to do this for a long time, great video want to see more for sure...
So I assume you converted to rear wheel based on engine orientation. Can we get a better look on a lift or something? I plan on putting something bigger in my neon, the default motor seems dead
Charles Timmers well I felt the car needs to have more hair on its nuts so no bushings on the motor mounts no need for that stuff I want to feel the motor shake my balls
I’m getting ready to do a LT one swap in a 2012 Dodge avenger so I hadn’t seen any rebel drive car is that used to be front will drive set up with big motors in the front like you got good info
Dang I am actually shocked that it fit under the hood even without a air cleaner that is a great build I have a lowered 95 Plymouth neon and I know that it barely takes any power to make them move and a 350 takes it to a whole new level
DUDE! this is SICK! i am totally going to give this a shot on my junk neon! what a perfect project. did you stretch the car at all or just tub it and cut the transmission housing? any roll cage? and how did you mount the rear end exactly? i can sorta see it, but would probably screw that up without help. that's a real big one for me.. other then that i really, REALLY wanta copy this. no joke.
its just old school cut and paste converted to rear wheel drive tubed and larger tranny tunnel I am going to do more videos about the neon and other projects this winter subscribe and keep an eye out for new videos and thank you for watching
Very impressive. I was curious as to how you did the rad setup. I want to do the same to my neon but I can't seem to fit the rad fan. Where did you fit your rad fan? Or did you not put one?
Jeremy De Melo in reality we cut out a decent-size chunk of the core support which is now removable with bolts but that is where the radiator is mounted just a couple inches forward of the original mounting location but we did move a large chunk of the fire Walt back a bit to fit the motor
Russ Russ hell yeah we still have it it's in the backyard just waiting for its turn Brian blew it up doing big nasty man burnouts at Rod run. Just waiting to get another motor Chef together
it be more of a monster if it had a mopar engine in it...planning to do this to my second gen neon..like to see you supention setup..did you use the old K fram in the front?..
I did..got 4 more inchs..as for saying chevy out power a mopar engine?..think you better go do your research ..mopar engines will out power and out perform any chevy engine..
***** think not..Id used to be a chevy guy..but woke up to the real world..Plus Id been working on cars for 33+ years..Let me know when a chevy is with over a million dollars,,that what a 70 HEMI cuda is worth..and those super birds and daytonas are worth 275+..If they have HEMI's there close top amillion dollars..Oh Mopar made more Muscle cars then chevy and ford...Another thing Who Dominated NASCAR from mid six's threw the 70's? MOPAR...Most Top Fuel engines are MOPAR HEMI'S!...
Outstanding.
I'll say it's a monster, holy fuckin shit, there's no better way to unfuck a 4 cylinder car
Loving the Nebraska plate
Whoo hoo! 7 miles per gallon. Nice.
15 mpg actually
Filmed in 2014 with a camera phone from 2007
7 yrs later.....
How'd those solid motor mounts work out ?
You should have rubber in there so it can flex. 😂
Isolated motor mounts are for the weak.
@@kylebeas
😂
So its still holding ?
@@franklyspeaking4480 yes they are
Where’d u get the rear axel from want to rear wheel mine
Old ford
How did you do the trans cross member just a piece of square tubing
Pretty sweet ride.

Cool Build
So no new video on how it was built?
Unfortunately life is a little crazy for me for the last couple years. Eventually there will be videos about rebuilding this car or building a version 2.0 but everything in time
@@kylebeas I completely understand thanks for the info I hope to see a 2.0 in the future cause this thing's wild lol
If you are going through all that then you need a 408 SB crate motor with a hopped up 918 auto trans and 91/4 rear gear of maybe 355 .
I could party with that guy

the small block is a stroker now and yes a 383 would fit but of course modifications would be necessary same as installing a small block Chevy
just wanted the measurements of the engine mount/ cross member you made out of that 2x2 box steel.
I will be doing more videos on the neon soon
Awesome man
Vic jr intake has an air gap between the bottom of the manifold and the intake runners.
I'm in not criticizing, just educating.
Great video.

Holy fuck!! How many man hours into all the customizing?
what the duck no bushings on those motor mounts?

kylebeas damn big balls going to shake into little squirrel nuts! holy fuck
congrats on not having any kids after driving that fucker! I want to drive it i got 5 kids and don't need anymore! Lol I like the build!

Did you do swap yet if so . Will ya post another or more clips. Brilliant build!

Needs a bit more muffling. Wanted to see it driven.
It's got Flowmasters. No more muffling needed

I want something bigger on my neon, a look at how you did rear wheel would be a great start
you know its a beat when the sound distortion makes it that bad
Sweet ride! Lets see some videos on the road. Did you ever take it to tbe strip?
cool, but why a Chevy swap and not a mopar one?
Already had the drivetrain and Chevy is cheap to build.
Wheres the new video I'm dieing to see
That's not a good way to cold start a car with a carb, turn the ignition without hitting the gas so oil can lubricate the pistons
When you get in, just turn the ignition til you get oil pressure, then pump the gas after it builds pressure. Yo gotta seduce your motor..
What did you guys do to the engine to get your oil pressure up to 60 psi?
just a hi pressure oil pump and tig weld the pickup tube the oil pump
Steve The Man just started a cold engine I'm sure it drops from there once it's to temp
What year is your neon?
Chevy small block in a mopar... sacrilegious. Mopar in mopar.
Badass car. You from Columbus? 10 county C town represent lol
Yep. Columbus.
I would have went with a magnum 5.9
If you dream it you can build it
Who built this car
My big brother Bryan
Do you still have this car?! I would love to see some video of it on the road or on the track.
bryant stewart ya still got it get more video in the spring and all the turbo cars also subscribe to get the alerts
Still have it lol

Nice
A big block!
yes you definitely can we do very often sideways as much as possible though LOL
A real chevy engine...nice!? Not that recycled ford ls!
I got an idea for your V8 neon! Put an EFI setup on it and then procharge it!
That's a cool build I would drive that
I have a 03 SRT4 that installing a 5.3 LS in it can you give more details about the rack and pinion
I will be doing more videos on the neon this winter I will go over everything on the car in these
It's a Mustang Foxbody rack with swaged tubing welded To The ends to convert to heim joints.
How could cost a project like that?
putting a chevy engine in a dodge. don't go around mopar people.
having said that, it's still a wicked car, 300+ HP chevy 350 in a 2800 pound neon is fast.
Dodge people love this car
@@kylebeas no we don't.
hi que
stion would you be willing to install an engine my 1995 neon? or any one who would
THE VEON
can you still drive that on the road?
+Tommy Mahoney yes youcan drive it on the road we do often and sideways often as possible
That's how you fix a neon
You should make more videos of this
cool car man

I'm building a 98 Plymouth neon 2 door.
Lmao that shit is beast
Pretty legit neon
You could have just put a 5.7l vortec or an LS to make it even more Beast
paint that car take the dents out that's all you need to do to it she will look pretty
Black Wraith sleeper
The car is exactly how it should look
This car is so awesome!!! I just got a 1g that I want to do something like this with. So bad ass!!!
WTF....... Sheese!!!!!!!!!
waste of an engine in a pos
everyone has there own opinion. I like very nasty burnouts.... do you???
nice work
