Finallyyyy. I own a 2011 CC and could not find any videos on how to remove the headliner. Hoping to be able to take it out without damaging it and not needing to remove the windshield.
best way i found to remove it, move the front passenger seat all the forward then lower it and move the backrest all the way down, remove the headrest, and slightly bend the headliner out, it's gonna be super tight, but that's how i got it out. im probably gonna remove the passenger seat completely next time to put it in so i dont risk damaging the new headliner.
my bad. still learning all the ropes of doing this since its not my full time and i do it for fun. there are about 4 torx screws on each corner. the cover for the lights should just pop off and you should be able to see them then. Good luck!
I took off all pillar mounding off. Took out the passenger seat and passenger rear door. It really easy to do. I got the headliner out thru the passenger rear door.
with the way Volkswagen loves to over engine things. unfortunately yes. the sunroof glass does need to be removed to replace the shade. I tried looking from a cheat but that's the only way that I can see and apart of vw repair manual to replace the shade. very dumb but i will admit i am learning the car more and more i take things apart and put back together.
I'm a 09 vr6 cc owner too, I faced the same issue like you guys did. I used some buttons and twist pins to keep the headliner from sagging. Not perfect, but I think it should be the easiest way to fix the problem.
I didn't know so many people actually needed a video of it I'm doing one right now I'll see if I can take a recording of the rest of it but I would say not to follow this video it's not very well done and you know I don't like to talk down on people but if your attack you should do things properly he completely damaged his headliner. No customer would pay for that type or quality of work.
What color your going with and also how your planning to put the headliner back? I had removed mines a month ago and need to put it back but was told it's better to remove front glass.
I'm going black, and I plan on putting it back the same Way I took it out. I was surprised I didn't creese it. Anywhere on the headliner and I yanked that thing out. So I plan on reversing everything and putting it back the same way but more carefully
Can anyone tell me where the Dab antenna amplifier is in the VW cc..? I've 2015 model and the head unit says zero dab signal now... I need to test the amp
Did you figure out how to replace the sunroof shade? You have to remove the glass panel (8 screws) and then remove the shade assembly also from the top (outside) when the glass is out.
I haven't replaced the shade yet. Once I put the headliner back in, I will make a video on how to replace the sunroof shade. Video should be coming out soon.
My sunshade is completely off, apparently its nearly $1,500 for parts and service. Has anyone consider another alternative like tinting the window or an external sunshade. The inside of my car cooks if its not in a shaded spot.
@@DudeVW well when they are hard to come by and they break and your customer thinks that they should not be broken then that's the point of how to videos...just some constructive criticism man.
Your skills for removing are 0. It's easiest to unbolt front seat, remove rear seat bench and pull it out. I've seen someone unable to unclip power cord but you, also you dont need to remove rear dome light only front one and blue power adapter as all instalation is glued to headliner so once its down or out you can remove it without breaking stuff. It's German car ofc its tight made that's why interior last decades or untill it meet someone like you, also B pillars are removed by unbolting single bolt at the bottom you dont need to disassemble belt assembly.
Dude, I so wish I watched this video much earlier... My situation was worse, so I gave it to a shop and they damaged some trim pieces. Total disappointment 4 me :(

Where was this video when I needed it at the junk yard lol. I got the Headliner out of the trunk with the front sits up, pain
Reading that a lot of people with CC’s have this problem. My headliner is sagging too. I’m taking to a shop tho this looks intense lol
All VWs
I wish you would’ve explained how you removed the front lights. Great video though. Love the language 😂

2010 CC. same problem. VW really should have issued a recall for this POS. Appreciate the video WNA. Where are you guys located?
It happens with any car tbh. Headliners sag over time with the heat beating on it making the glue fail. And we're located in NJ
I took off all pillar mounding off. Took out the passenger seat and passenger rear door. It really easy to do. I got the headliner out thru the passenger rear door.
I didn't take out the seats. I just lowered it enough to where it gave me just enough clearance to get it out. It was a pain but I got it done.
Wheel N Axel it will be much easier when you go to put it back. Less chance of you creasing the headliner
@@grumpyjuicetrucking I won't be lazy the next time when I have to put. It in so I don't mess it up lol
My 09 has gotten pretty bad so I need to go through the pain of removing it.
A pain it is to remove lol. And a pain to put back it is aswell
Thank you for the video, it helped me remove my headliner.
Do you really need the headliner off to replace the sunroof curtain?

Im dealing with the same exact situation with my 09 vr6 cc right now, headliner and sunshade
it sucks!!! I'm just happy I'm finally getting it redone!

I understand not many people know how to do it but taking out the headliner is really not that hard.

How did you paint the plastic trim prices? I painted mine black but the paint scratches off easy
gotta sand the surface and put a clear. mines is also peeling cause i didnt do this. But thats project for another day.

Rudy Severino I did it without taking out the glass
@@grumpyjuicetrucking it was a b*tch to do it without taking out the glass but I got it done.
@@DudeVW did you video that too?
Vw old models always have sucked with this one problem. I owe a CC 2010 and I’m going thru the same problem.
It's a Pain but it does give you an opportunity to change things up if you wanted too. I'm taking this as the chance to change up my interior 👍
where did you purchase the cross bars?
how did u remove the sun visors power cord
Theres a small connector you have to unplug when u remove the cover, you have to pull a little bit
If you can’t remove a power cord you have no business working on the car
Can anyone tell me where the Dab antenna amplifier is in the VW cc..? I've 2015 model and the head unit says zero dab signal now... I need to test the amp

@@DudeVW, cool! Waiting for the video how u put back the headliner - very curious! Have fun ;)
Yeah man my VW headliner is doing that shit tooo.. fml. I got someone charging me 250 to fix it . Is that a good price?
I just got off the phone with the dealership and they want $1,400 to do it - so i'd say yes.
$250 is a steal! I paid $235 for Mines. But Ive had several people say $400-$500 to get it done.
My sunshade is completely off, apparently its nearly $1,500 for parts and service. Has anyone consider another alternative like tinting the window or an external sunshade. The inside of my car cooks if its not in a shaded spot.
Tinting can work, but you need to get the ceramic type, most expensive type of tint for it to work good.
Or block out the sun with vinyl wrap.
Just limo tint the sunroof, I just leave the shade open.
Would have been nice to see how you got the stupid overhead off, or the b pillar trim, or the a pillar without breaking it....etc
It's all clips dude, a few torx thats about it.
@@DudeVW well when they are hard to come by and they break and your customer thinks that they should not be broken then that's the point of how to videos...just some constructive criticism man.
Painting those black?
Yup
instead of being cheap manufacturers should make rubber headliners so they dont crease bro like wth xddd
It depends on the rubber they use. Remember during the summer at high Temps, the possibility of it melting is very high.
If you have all data or Mitchell on demand mechanic programs taking a headliner out of a car is easy
