LOVE this grill. Gets HOT 550 degrees F and I use the gas gauge for temp adjustment. Close the cover after igniting let it heat up to 550 and then place meat on and instant sear! Adjust flame accordingly for cooking. Highly recommend.
People make the mistake about not seasoning that grill plate. Many complaints about them rusting but to prevent that you should season it with oil and it will last much longer
@@heavyweightcamping4347 yeah, I learned that lesson real quick when I bought my infrared 4 burner grill many years ago. I use avocado oil because it has the best burn rate but any cooking oil will do.
This grill will easily go to 600 degrees instantly because it's infrared and the source of heat is just a couple inches away from the gril. Don't expect to put some chicken on it and cook for 90 mins. It will be charcoal by that time. Don't think you can tone it down to 300 degrees either.. physicality impossible with this setup. This is excellent for searing for already cooked food. Think of sous vide steak, perfectly finished off by this awesome portable searing device giving you lovely lines of traditional grill marks. You're going to burn to a crisp anything else. Maybe if you make 1/4 inch patties and flip after 45 seconds, they may not evaporate into pure carbon before you're very eyes.
I've watched videos multiple times just trying to decide what a demonstrator clicked, pushed or adjusted, so I appreciated someone showing exactly what he was doing.
@@sergeant1446 He means that this is just a grill with a flame diffuser. A real infrared grill has a purpose built heating element and cost much much more. I'd rather have one of these for the money. How is it working out? Any complaints?
@@TonyDaTunafish So sorry big guy, got depolyed on a mission, just got back and seen your comment. I use this grill on my balcony, I mostly use it to finish meat after sous vid. But its great at searing meat. also its great on gas for some reason, I have a 5 kilo tank hooked up and its been going strong for about 4 months and still has more to go.
It is scientifically and empirically infrared. You probably don't even now what the definition or tests to determine an infrared signature.. you're just pissed you paid $3000.00 for a infrared grill at home depot knowing you can get one for less than $200.00 and accomplish the same thing.
We just picked this up at Lowe’s today. Will let you know what we think.

I made that mistake as well lol. It's been pretty good but whenever I buy my new grate I'll be seasoning it for sure. Great tip!!

Would love to see you cook on it and give a review in the field
Yeah this baby gets hot quick. $200 is a bit pricey for a small portable grill but well worth it

It's not perfect but I'm still using mine regularly it's been awesome.
