Marc Robert "Caedrel" Lamont, former LEC professional Mid laner and Jungler for teams like H2k and Excel and now famous and award winning analyst and colour commentator for the LEC, is the star of the 254th Episode of 'Reflections'.
Caedrel grinded away for many years to reach the LEC level where he played Mid lane and Jungle for H2k and later performed the latter role for Excel for the first years of their time in franchising. He is best known as one of the world's best broadcast talents and minds for League of Legends, though, and is a popular fixture on the LEC, international broadcasts like Worlds and his stream.
In part two, Caedrel talks about his pivot to becoming broadcast talent and a content creator and streamer, how he has developed in those roles over the years, some of the spicy drama he was involved with, how epic it was to cast a Worlds final and the tempting coaching offers he received this off-season.

Why does that make Thorin legit? If anything that makes Caedral legit, this guy trashed on Caedral for 42 minutes like you said, and he STILL came onto his reflections and Caedral didn't seem like he had any resentment at all, now that is legit, good on Caedral.

I'd love to see caedrel as a coach. He's incredibly insightful on how to play the game and drafting.

@@GothPaoki Yea but no more co stream would suck. Unless it for a really top tier eu team or eastern team, he shouldn’t do it imo.
@@GothPaoki I mean, he has the same knowledge of a "normal" pro league player with a bit of experience. What he is really good is explaining the game concepts to us, that may seem elaborate for a league enjoyer but at the end, for a pro player are pretty much basics.
There are ex players with the same or even better knowledge and charisma like Mithy that had a very frustrating coach career, same as Yamato for example. The coach role doesn't simply turn knowledge in success, like for example in old G2 I think Perkz or Caps were for sure more knowledgeable than Grabbz but he still had the capabilities of successfully coaching them.
So i don't know, i feel like his choice of being a very good analyst and caster that explains to us the game suit him the best for now. Another player I hope will chose a similar path is Bwipo.
I didn't really know what I thought of Caedrel but just like every other reflections video I come out of it with a lot of newfound understanding and respect for the person. Thanks!

To be true to Caedel: I think his opinion regarding LPL and LCK is strange considering basically every successful LPL team had a Korean and maybe a Korean coach in them. Also, how can he say LCK is a three team league when literally the 4th seed won Worlds - and kicking out two higher LCK seeds in the process? :D

Wait. A worlds final in Europe (and especially Germany) would be hosted by the local staff and not by the english talent?
I assumed, because the LEC studio is in Germany and there is only the English talent in the studio, that it would be the same for a potential roadshow in cologne or something.
That's too bad. I would've loved to hear Pedro in a big stadium near my location and not the German cast...
The last worlds in Germany was actually casted by the led casters which was a bit of a controversy because the semis where casted by the French casters while the German cast didn’t get to do it
@@dreyziii there's a law in France where broadcasts have to be done in french, don't think there was any controversy over it though
@@uncleryze5049 oh I didn't know that. Well the controversy was more in the German space but it turned out fine since the German cast just organised a live liewing event vor the people that wanted the German cast

on the question between who plays the "right" way between LCK and LPL - which i think is a great question btw:
i think it used to be LCK but the game's been going for so long that if you try to play pure standard slow controlled vision box standard draft EVERY game then it wont work. the last korean team that won worlds (before DRX who i ll get to later) didnt play like the traditional LCK way even in my opinion. LCK has always been the sololane league where jungle plays for sololanes and AD is late game insurance - as it should be imho. Damwon play FOR jungle. Besides all this obviously LPL spice things up, fight more and because they ve been moulded in this chaos they ve been able to react better when opposition throw curve balls both in draft and in game at high pressure situations over the last few years recently.
BUT! I thnk for these reasons GenG will never win anything the way they re playing (very lucky to win LCK - only domestic competition that still tries to play mostly the standard traditional korean way with an exception i ll get to next besides damwon) - they very well could ve if they played this way with the players of the last couple years.. way back when T1 was dominating worlds and msi.
The biggest outlier in this question is the T1 of the last 2 seasons. Obviously rookies' inexperience and udnerperformance in finals/criminally bad drafts cost them both msi and worlds in season 2022. They re still a top dog and they ll be up there again in season 2023 and everyone knows that. The reason they re so dominant is not only cause now they ve stuck to a core for quite a while and obviously are keeping the exact same roster for this year that they had the year before, and literally all of them are imho top 3 in the world in their positions with players like faker oner and keria probably #1 atm in my book. guma gets criminally underrated cause of a slump in the most skill-less meta in league history (zeri yumi), he 's still #1 quality and was the best ad last worlds and zeus.. i think everyone in the world knows this kid is the only player since rookie faker that gives us vibes that he can be the best player in the world with a biiiiiiig margin like faker was when he broke through in season 3. BUT ALSO and most importantly.. they re like an LPL team that plays in LCK.
I m an LCK fanboy (yes ofc i know you can tell i m also a faker and t1 fanboy since 2013) but i think the rest of LCK needs to accept the fact that the old school traditional box standard LCK playstyle is long dead and they need to reinvent themselves and be confident in spicying things up both in draft and in game like prime Damwon and T1 of last 2 seasons do or they wont survive.
Dont bring up DRX and humiliate yourself. They re the Leicester City of League of Legends, it will never happen again and unlike Leicester who did it in a 38 game season and deserved it, they didnt deserve to win and i dont care if you disagree or wanna call me salty t1 fanboy. DRX the org or the players that won them worlds now on other teams wont be at worlds or msi this season and you can take that to the bank.
the truth is lck players are way more talented than lpl players. midlane for example there is no one in lpl even close to zeka chovy faker showmaker. scout was only midlaner that perfomed well last year. and hes from lck. knight? he lost to an wild card midlaner that shouldnt happend. its funny caedrel still thinks lpl overall has better teams than lck. even HLE (6th in lck btw) would win lpl easily and KT are legit so fking good rn. all of lpl teams lost to a trash bottom teams atm. doinb literally said on his stream that lpl has too many useless trash teams. he said the gap between lck and lpl was so huge last year and this year is even bigger than last year and lck is so much stronger overall rn. he literally said that multiple times. the fact that LCK reject players like gideon dove hoya ucal are standing top in lpl says everything about state of lpl.
