I watch all kinds of woodworking channels and youtube has never once suggested your vids to me, I saw you on reddit, glad I've found your channel, keep it up
Super duper cool! A wonderful idea to maximize storage and make the room much more airy and open. Love your calm soothing voice ;-) Much love from Vancouver BC
Thank you for the video. I am in the process of redoing my pantry and want to use drawers for some of the space. I am planning on, thanks to your video, being able to pull them out so that I can see everything in the draw as well as restocking from the back so we have we don't end up finding expired food every year.
Hey! Glad it was helpful! I great idea for food storage! I would anticipate the need for a lock/latch to hold anything of decent weight though! Something as simple as a dowel used as a pin through holes that meet up when the drawers are in their “closed” positions. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment! Much appreciated! Cheers!
Your videos are awesome. Detailed, unlike all the others I’ve seen. I like how you actually talk thru the work and include the mishaps and materials/ tools used. This is what I’ve been looking for for getting started myself. Thanks for being a wood nerd and doing a great job for those of us starting!!
Thanks Kathy! I’m glad I’m able to give the extra insight when I can. We all make mistakes! For me it’s usually really silly stuff that’s easily avoidable! I appreciate you watching and taking time to share your thoughts! Good luck with your projects!
Love this idea. I'm in the middle of attempting to buy my first house. ONCE that is done I plan to use several of your videos to help me get custom-built shelving & items in my home. Great videos, keep it up!
I was searching for floating bench and found your hidden drawer bench.. I’m going to be making mine much longer but this is going to be a fun winter project!
Dig your video! I'm in the "contemplative phase" of getting into woodworking and trying to consume a lot of videos in preparation, and this is a great one. Liked and subscribed. Keep up the good work!
You're a talented wood worker and your videos and editing are sweet too. The best part of the build was the T shirts though. You got a sub from me, keep on, keeping on.
Good build! Also, I think that the instinct to show off the hidden storage spot is always going to be stronger than the desire to have a totally secret storage spot... I've done the same on a similar spots I've built into my house for firearms and sensitive documents. Haha
Those drawers are so sweet but I would always want to show them off! Suppose I could use them for some not so secret items sunscreen, bug spray, gloves and all the little things that are usually in my mudroom laying around
Greetings from Germany. I found this gem of a video on Reddit and tbh you convinced me with this build. Now ist is time for me to convince my boyfriend to build this together or at least get permission for me to build something new. Things getting out of hand sometimes when you're at it. at least for me. I hope to see more of your builds in the future, but first I'm gonna check out your other videos.
Hey Lilly! Thanks for watching! Get his butt in gear! I really appreciate you stopping by to check out my videos! Good luck with your future builds! Cheers!
@@WoodNerds I did my own counter tops, but I'm convinced that I was possessed by a woodworking ghost at the time. Looking forward to trying something with actual joints and hardware. Thanks for posting this with so much detail.
Oh man! You can do this for sure then haha. When you build it I would love to see the results! If you encounter problems or have questions along the way let me know. I reply to almost every comment I get!
Hey Stephanie! Thank you! I used maple plywood and “fruitwood” stain from min wax (I believe I have a link listed in the description of the video if that helps). That color goes great with white. I just finished the other side of the laundry room with a floating folding table and some other nice touches. I’ll edit the video one of these days haha.
Yes thank you so much! Glad the laundry room turned out well. I feel that I have videos that need to be edited for daysss haha. Keep up the great work with your channel😊👌🏼
It’s a challenge for sure! You caught me! I took it off when messing with the blade and forgot to put it back. I always keep it on, just made a mistake. Luckily no accidents!
Thank you! Yeah, they are pretty strong. I am considering adding a locking mechanism in case I want to store something heavier in there but as it is, they do a pretty good job by themselves.
Hey man! I’m actually using the ridgid random orbit sander and ridgid shop vac! They make a hose extension with a built in reducer that fits the sander exhaust perfectly! The combo has been really effective!
Cash, passport, cookies !
Definitely a man with his priorities straight ! , God bless
Haha just the necessities! Thanks for watching!
This may be the best mud room bench on RUclips. So impressive, nice job!
Hey! I’m flattered! Thank you for the compliment!
First time I have seen your channel, now I need to binge on the rest of your vids.
Welcome! Haha thanks Roy! I appreciate that!

I’m glad you saw it there! Thank you for taking the time to say something! I appreciate the words of encouragement!
Two great tips. The detail on your scrap board for cutting the rabbet for the base, and turning the whole thing over for assembly. Good stuff. Thanks.
Thanks for watching Greg! I appreciate it!
I've been putting off a shelf for my wife's laundry room. But this will be a great Christmas gift. Thanks man

Great job man!
Thanks Christian! I really appreciate it!

Doesn't have to be a floating bench, a floating shelf with hidden storage or in closet is also super nice
Agreed! Great ideas! I have a thing about hiding stuff so there will probably be more videos like this. Thanks for sharing!
I love seeing a guy make awesome stuff using the same entry level table saw I have. One question though - where is your riving knife?

Great Vid Man, Thanks. It's just the gas shocks holding the drawers up then?
Thank you! Yeah, they are pretty strong. I am considering adding a locking mechanism in case I want to store something heavier in there but as it is, they do a pretty good job by themselves.
What type of sander and dust collection do you use in the video and have you upgraded those tools since?
