I am quite sure there is a parallel universe where the Tesla Model 3's came with carbon fiber dashes and some guy made a video showing how to replace that with 'wood'. :) The Ping Pong table, on the other hand, looks NICE.
Looks good. Ordered a matte precut piece and will do it myself. Im a big wrap DIY guy and have been doing them on my cars for years. This looks great though.
Yeah I remember Brian’s video on that. I know he was trying to stain the wood black and it wouldn’t take though he was happy with his results. For me personally I wouldn’t do that because it’s not removable at that point.
Awesome vid - really good craftsmanship and attention to detail. I’ve seen others that wrap it without taking it out. This will be a question I ask the shop before having them do it. Thnx!
Thanks! Given how easily the dash comes out (of course I have the lucky car that always seems to have a slight challenge) it seems like a no brained to pull it and work at a table rather than in the car!
That’s correct, this is a vinyl wrap. A few reasons really (1) I had a bad experience with RPM so I have avoided them since and (2) I’d like to see it in person before spending that much money (3) their center console kit is horrible so I wouldn’t have a matching solution there.
I usually like wood trim with a beige/tan/cream interior and carbon fiber or aluminum with a dark interior. It’s a tough spot as well because you need to watch out for glare.
Thanks for asking - all resolved and the car is better than ever! I wanted to give it a good week or so for a follow up just to make sure nothing comes back.
Teslatunity still can’t believe some moron bent your car up using the body as a fulcrum. Unbelievable...glad it worked out. Please tell me it was not Tesla policy for technicians to take customer cars home for the evening. That was crazy....carbon wrap looks awesome.
Thanks! Shockingly enough it is actually Tesla’s policy though they ask for permission first. In my case they weren’t clear up front - they said “overnight” but didn’t explain that it was going to be an employee taking my car home for the night until pressed pretty hard to which point I said absolutely not.
I think I would have gone for a Grey Carbon Fiber finish so that the car wasn’t so monochromatic on the inside. Just my opinion, and you know what they say everyone has one.
He does great work. Pride in job done right.
Good to see you embracing a pro doing it.... it’s the only way IMO.
Absolutely the only way to go!
They make it look so easy. Great job.....Looks fantastic Michael!

I can’t wait to check it out tomorrow.
Great job, wood or not, at least it all looks matching finally. Nice
Thanks! Signature Customs did an awesome job, but I was itching for the real stuff and finally got it - ruclips.net/video/PLlZvrz-TgQ/видео.html

Nice!! This is a skill that I definitely don’t have so I’m glad we are lucky enough to have a top notch pro nearby!
i think i like the wood better,, wonder what it looks like done in teak oil :))
I do like the wood as well, but it was too light for my taste with this interior
i1 Tesla channel did something like that, making the existing wood look better.

What does a quick wrap like that cost?
I can only imagine how nice the carbon fiber console and dash look. I'm really not a fan of piano black finishes. The matching dash makes it perfect.
That looks to be the best for wrapping the dash. How much do they charge for it?
I don’t have a price to share, but I have all of their details in the description and they can quote you on any job.
Love it MB! I wonder if anyone as good as him is in DFW....
Thanks - I have to imagine there’s a good shop in your area!!
So it's vinyl, not actual carbon fiber correct? Why did you choose to go this route versus getting actual CF with something like RPMTesla offers?

Curious how much it cost and how long it took? Looks quite good.
swotam's games
No one will ever tell you how much wraps, coatings, details etc cost on You Tube
Thanks! I don’t have the pricing information to share, but the job should be about an hour if you’re not having them sand down the wood first.

Told you brother!
If it's only an hour of labor, you'd be getting seriously ripped off if it's more than $200.
Great vid - can I ask which aluminium sport pedals you purchased?
Thanks! I have the pedals on my Amazon page (I’m not the seller) and you can can find it here - geni.us/teslatunity
Sweet!
Hey Trevor....tell the wife that she left quite the nice Hickkie on your neck. LOL!!!!
Looks okay but Wood always looks better IMHO.

Personally I would have liked a different coloring of wood. It's nice but not to my taste. 70% why I went with the white interior.
Never liked the White Interior. Looks too.....generic and boring.
I think it’s stunning in person - especially with a black headliner (S/X)
how did it go with you M3 SC? is it all resolved?
Thanks for asking - all resolved and the car is better than ever! I wanted to give it a good week or so for a follow up just to make sure nothing comes back.
@@michaelrbodner thats awesome am happy for you! That means there is hope :)
Thanks again!!

Do you have a good picture of grey carbon fiber? I’d love to see it!
How much was it to do the wood in carbon fiber?
I don’t have a price to share, but I have all of their details in the description if you want to reach out to them for a quote.
is the dash real wood, looks too flimsy to be real wood.
I believe it’s a real wood veneer
Makes the interior too dark for my taste.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wood looks like geezer style. sticker wrap is a high schooler style. Get the real things.
There isn’t a viable “real” replacement yet, but I have to say I am very pleased with the results of the wrap!
As a card carrying geezer I think they both look lovely.
