Honestly, I love the wood in the black interior it looks sleek, however, i like the white seats.. but i do not like the white trim on the dash. I wish you could option wood with the white interior. But i’m glad you found an aftermarket option that suits you! It looks great!
The wood is super nice in such a high-tech and modern car. I just placed the wood cover from Hills for my MYLR and also added wood to the console as well. Looks so zen!
The wood trim projects mid-century modern look to counter the car's ultra modern ethos, and I can't have enough of those. That's why I'm getting wood wrap for the center console as well from Jowua
Holding up great, still like new. Just wipe it down once and a while for dust. Thanks for watching. Tesmainian floor mats are incredible BTW (I receive no compensation from them, I just really like them) Their spoiler on my 3 has lifted up at the edges on 2 installs, can't recommend that. Thanks for watching.
The best solution I've seen so far to change the wooden ambience. The commonly used "carbon" cover doesn't really match the rest of the interior. Thank's for this tip.
If the Austin Ys follow suit with Shanghai and Berlin, the wood dash extends into the door panels like the M3, which I think looks nicer and makes more sense. Upgrade the center console cover with matching wood and you've got a middle-class X/S interior styling.
if you ever remove the trim , please do a video showing us how to! that’s my biggest concern: how to remove it safely because I am leasing and want to cover the wood asap. looks great! much better.
Looks very smart! How do you thing the stock interior would hold up look removal? Just asking in case it needed removing on changing the car or changing the trim.
Thanks. I haven't removed it yet, but I can tell you it uses 3M automotive tape, which is the same used on the rear spoiler (wing) on a Model Y Performance) and while it is very strong and holds well, it is easily removed.
Looks great. I have a completely random question. My wood trim makes noise every now and then (a very subtle click). Do you think the cover will help to suppress the noise?
Thank you. And thanks for watching. I have not heard or come across this one. This fully covers the wood so it might help a bit. First and foremost you need to like the look.
I’m onto my second Tesla. My second one had a white interior. White was too much on the dash. I put a second hand wood trim back into the white Y… The wood vs white plastic is Chalk and cheese in terms of noise. The wood trim is very creaky and I sprayed every join in silicon spray before installing it into my new model Y. I’m not sure how you could get around it. It’s the one thing I dislike about my previous tesla and indeed the wood dash I put into the Y. It’s very easy to remove and carefully spray WD40 etc into possible noise points. You can twist it in your hands to test/ spray and get rid of 90% of the noises.
I got a rattle noise sound near the dashboard area. Do you experience this? I know a lot of people complain about it, but can’t fix :( I wonder if you have similar experience and have fixed. Thanks
I don't have any noises in this area for my Model Y, I do have a weird noise in my Model 3 in the round speaker area of the interior A pillar which is annoying ;) Thanks for watching!
The cover still looks new😀 I have no idea for the wood as I haven’t removed the cover and don’t plan to. It uses 3M automotive tape which is very strong, but I’ve never seen it damage anything.
It doesn't block it, but it does interfere with the height setting. You'll notice that your max height won't be as high up. Perhaps you won't mind though.
This modification slightly throws off the air wave system. If you move air wave to the max height setting, you will notice that the wave does not go as high as it does without the modification. It's only a slight change but it's something that people should be aware of.
I have a dash cover on both my 3 and Y. On my 3 right now, it is fully functional, goes all the way up without an issue. I'll check my Y when it comes home. It doesn't seem to be blocking anything related.
totally agree that it's so dumb of tesla not to give you the option of carbon fiber for black seats and only limit that to the white interior. I personally hate the wood dash but i would actually look for a carbon fiber dash cover over black. Black does look 100x better than wood
@@TeslaTipsTrips Thanks for sharing. Honestly it could be that the cover I used was in two sections, and it had non 3M tape that was used. I’m in Santa Clarita, so similar heat most of the time.

Thank you for watching. Having custom options is nice. I'll bet you could find a wood dash somewhere and swap it out for the white interior.
Agreed!!!

I’ve come around since this video. The Hills stuff is very nice, we did a video on this also. ruclips.net/video/0gcDZY7Wusg/видео.html
My 2022 MY white/white came with the dash trim in white, I love it.
Agreed. I like the white. I wish there was a black version of the wood. I'd be okay with that. Thanks for watching
I changed mine as well, the wood looks terrible. I used the alcantara cover, so it matches the door inserts.

Curious how the cover is holding up? Thanks for sharing!

Glad we could help. Thanks for watching!
The look came out really clean! Love it!
Thanks!
I love the wood and wish the central console and the steering wheel would be in wood too. More ebody color tho.
Cool. Thanks for watching!

That’s the beauty of these cars. Customize to fit. Thanks for watching
This looks great. I’ve been looking at the one piece for my 2023. Just to confirm it doesn’t affect the airbag areas correct?
Correct. Airbags are not near this part of the dash. Thanks for watching!

You’re breaking this designer’s heart
Sorry. Thanks for watching though 😀

I love wood. I have a white interior, because I don't like black, and it reflects light like crazy. I am looking to replace the white with wood.
Cool, I would recommend this --This Tesla Model Y / 3 Hillsmade Interior Mod is FIRE

@@TeslaTipsTrips Thanks. I have checked them out.
Looks good...
Does it block the a/c vents?
Not at all. Thanks for watching!
It doesn't block it, but it does interfere with the height setting. You'll notice that your max height won't be as high up. Perhaps you won't mind though.
hey where did you get your red baseball cap? is it genuine? I need one!

@@TeslaTipsTrips Yeah set it to the top height, test both with the trim piece on and with it off, you should notice the slight difference

where is the link to buy it??

I tried a cover, but as soon as my Y interior got hot the cover popped off so I went to a wrap instead.
Hmmm, that's weird. Ours has sat in Los Angeles heat for years without an issue. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!

At least Tesla should polish the wood. It looks cheap wood trim
