Thank you for this easy to follow pattern. I have been looking for something like this for so long.
The instructions to increase the size is clearly explained in this video. Thank you.
I learned so many good tips from your video. You’re a good teacher
This is the best video I've ever watched. I followed along and my hat came out perfectly. Thanks so much. I will definitely be looking for more of your videos. Your attention to detail in your instruction is amazing. You are amazing!

I look forward to any other crochet videos you may make in the future!
Thank you for taking the time to create this!
Thank you thank you for such a detailed video! The patterns I've read online make a lot more sense now that I've had a chance to see one made from start to finish.
Finnaly a video that clearly explains how to increase the head sizes! Thank you, best video yet, good job on explaining, made a lovelly beanie, hugs from Portugal ;)
I have made several hats for my granddaughter using this tutorial. Thank you!
I filmed this tutorial after dark (after bedtime for my little one) so it is a little dark, it is the only time I have these days to film so I hope the quality is good enough :)

It's perfectly ok.
loved this tutorial I tried 4 others and they didn't explain it well so I kept stopping but this was well explained and easy to follow
omg i literally doing a hat for the first time and i am confident it will be a success. The video was intensely long but very well explained and totally worth it. I lost track of time how deep in i was. great job!
Awesome tutorial. Thank You so so much. I'm ready to create my hat. :)
Very well explained video on this hat 👍💕
great tutorial!! I have been wanting to learn how to crochet for a while (I've been knitting for a few years) and this was a very thorough, nicely laid out tutorial that helped me learn how to crochet! Thank you so much for the clearly laid out steps. I will definitely be watching more of your tutorials! :)
Bella Coco is also very easy to follow... She taught me and I knew nothing
Love it. made one today and will be making another...I'm going to make it into a dinosaur hat by adding some triangles. Thanks for the great tutorial! Im likin and subbing :)
Love it the way it was explained in detail. Made my first hat. Thank you
Just completed my first ever hat. Thank you x
I am reserving watching this entire video until New Year's Day! I have my yarn and hook ready to go. All the family will watch the Rose Bowl, and I will make this darling hat. Thanks for providing me with an constructive excuse not to pretend to love football! I can sit in the same room with my ear-buds in, and crochet to my heart's content. It's a win-win situation.
+jbsubscribes Good luck with the hat, I don't have a project lined up, I will probably work on scrubbing my kitchen down, lol!
+Katie Cooks and Crafts Katie, I just finished the hat! (Thanks so much for posting the directions on your blog.) It turns out that it isn't as easy as I thought it would be to crochet during a football game on New Year's Day. Lesson learned!
Hi Katie, loved so much the way you explained this. I really will look your other craft. Ok, now I really need to know rush! if the 10 stiches are the same for a one month baby and an adult, I'm doing this to my granddaughter and my lovely daughter in law. I'm in just that stage in the one for the baby...

i improvised and made ear holes for my dog... I love it, she tolerates it
for what age is this hat for
Merry Christmas Katie
Thank you for your great tutorial. It is really helpful. Can I use sport weight with this pattern?
You can make each ear flap an odd number so 3 st. will be left at the end, then make an I-Cord with these 3 st.
Looks nice and all is in one piece without cutting the yarn at the end of each flap.
VERY GOOD TUTORIAL, KATIE, I MAKE ALOT OF THINGS FROM MANY SITES...I WILL DEF BE BACK AND SUBSCRIBE
Thank You!
I don't know in all these years, if you've already answered this, but I know the sizes are listed, for the beginning circle/top of the hat... But, is the depth you show in the video for a toddler size? about how many rows did you/would you do for a toddler, to get the "eyebrow/mid-ear" depth? TYIA
nice tutorial
Hi katie i wanna ask, if i use different yarn, more thin than you have and i use 3mm hook, what the result have same like you made? Or i have little result than you made? :) thank you for video
smaller yarn and smaller hook means every stitch will end up smaller. You can still use that yarn for this hat but you will need to increase more on the crown of the hat before you start going down the sides. As long as you increase by 12 stitches every round you can increase the size of your crown until it is the proper size.
I'm beginners.. Too confused for determine the size for toddler or for new born but thank you for your answer katie :)
The easiest way is to match your hook size to your yarn. Usually recommended on yarn label. Then keep increasing rounds until your circle is right size for the hat you want. 6-7 inches for adult. Then stop increasing and work round and round in every stitch until length you want. Probably 7 inches for beanie or 8/9 for slouch hat. For baby or child size just google what size circle should be. It’s actually on this video. So you can use any yarn you like!
For wich size is this hat?
i wanted to add a different colour around the end on bottom row and plate the 2 colours together is this possible on this seamless hat or do u think it would look silly?
you can add other colors but because this is a spiral it wont look perfectly symmetrical (but probably noone will notice) or If you want to add other colors you can spiral multiple colors together from the beginning. Search my channel for "spiral rainbow" and you will find a tutorial for a hat and a bonnet done in this way. I think either way would work and give you a lovely hat
so how much more would I need for and adult
Would this fit a adult size?
You can make it any size. The first part you make is the crown, it is a flat round disc that becomes the top of the hat. To change sizes you continue to increase until the disc is the appropriate size for the head you are making it for. Then continue without increases to make the sides of the hat.
Hi this hat is for 7year old girls or for the adult please let me know Beacase I want to make for 7year old girls ear flap hat thanks
The directions tell you how to adjust the pattern for any size.
cute
Votre crochet est de quelle marque?
Would you post a link for the written pattern for this, too, please?
it is in the description box :)
Is this for a two ti three yrs old. Does anyone know
How would you change colors without it looking uneven?
That is one of the downsides of seamless hats, not easy to add stripes. Check out the pattern on my channel called Rainbow Swirl Hat, it is similar but multicolored
what size yarn did you use ?
4 ply worsted weight acrylic yarn
I have no clue what I am doing wrong. I am following along with you 3 different times and I still end up with two to three stitches more. I have taken it out each time. I don't know what is happening lol
Are you using stitch markers? That might help
Yes I am. I follow right along with you. I can't figure out what my problem is lol I have tried 4 different times lol
I'm using 4ply yarn
How do you tighten the hat up if it's looking 'bell shaped'? I think my hook is too big for the size of my yarn.
+Natalie Anguiano First count your stitches and make sure you didn't accidentally add a stitch or two. You would need to pull the stitches out until you get to where you added the extra stitch. If you didn't add any stitches it may just be stretched out from handling while you crochet. is the project finished? you can try to block it into the correct shape. If you are using a washable yarn you can just wet the hat and form it to the shape you want and let it air dry.
+Katie Cooks and Crafts I think what I did wrong was, I used a bigger hook and my yarn wasn't very thick. I'm going to use the same sizes you used. It can out really cute but adult size.
I loved you crochet send me some samples on my email
You talk way too much.
And your incredibly rude...so...
You did just awesomely well. It was very easy to follow. Again, thank You
If you don' like just go to others that do not explain anything and at the end, you are completly lost.
Too much of bakwaas
