- The Land Rover Defender name feels like it's as old as time itself, with its history dating back to 1948 with the Series I before morphing into the Defender as we recall it best in 1983. Now in its (long-overdue) 2nd-generation, the new Defender aims to capture the spirit of the Defender while merging it with the newfound position of Land Rover as a purveyor of capable-but-luxurious off-roaders.
In this video we explore if the Defender truly lives up to the name it bears and the badge it carries, or if it's turned into yet another soft-roader fit only for the Tesco's carpark.

I like it Land Rover defender ❤❤❤
Aiman and his sarcasm..superb..keep it up..not a single f given..
Great review as usual. The new Defender is closer to the Discovery, but with a rugged look. At that price I wonder how many owners would do Defender type duties of old... So for whom is the Defender for?
JLR clarified during this models' global launch that this isn't made for the same buyer profile as the old Defender. JLR Malaysia echoed that sentiment and added that this is for a new generation of buyer, one very far removed from the Defender of the 80s and recognises Land Rover as a luxury off-roader brand rather than a marque making military-duty vehicles.
Based on local sales figures, the Defender has found its fans quickly and resolutely.
Greay review as always.
You guys could also maale reviews at different and interesting places around Malaysia.
Just some suggestions.
That would incur cost that we cannot afford. There's a misnomer that all motoring publications in Malaysia are as cashed-up as some of our competitors - that couldn't be further from the truth, but we strive to always make lemonade from the lemons we're given.

almost 1 million...haiya, for now, i could only afford its diecast model
Us too.
What about the vehicle’s quietness?
@@fawazalhajeri, it is naturally less refined than a Range Rover Sport but it's far better than an equivalent Land Cruiser Prado. There is some wind noise from the mirrors and some road noise from the wheel wells but it's not overly intrusive, in-line with a car pushing RM1mil retail.
Beli, tapi sape le nk bawak pi offroading...900K lagi tu...beli simpan showcase...offroad gune Hilux...hehe
This need a diesel.
Reduce price by 80%
Increase your salary by 100%. Or maybe 250%.
