@@beccaiskenough17 You do realize, that rotating an equilateral triangle 60 degrees essentially points it in the opposite direction. And obviously here, they didn't flip anything 180 degrees. Sorry translational geometry is difficult.

My teacher gave us this puzzle in my first business studies lesson. I was the first to solve it. He always gave us puzzles like this, because he said the main problem with modern day business men and woman is that they can't solve problems in creative ways.
He is retiring this year and I will really miss the brain teasers next year

I thought all the pennies had to be heads up so I was thinking this guy was an idiot.
This was not even a "not difficult one". It was elementary at best.
Hint. The inner part of the triangle creates a hexagon shape. From there, you need to determine which way you would like the triangle to point.
This. I noticed the symmetry. But I ALSO noticed... Because he said THREE moves, it got me thinking about which three pennies were... conspicuous. The brain trains itself to see patterns like that. So I saw the hexagon and the corners independently.

Or another way to think of it is that you need 7 coins to stay stationary, and figure out which 7 would overlap if you imagine an upside down triangle overlaid on top of the original

When I was a kid I remember a professor Layton and the Curious Village ad that had a lady playing it and it was this puzzle with some plates. I bought the game despite my mom saying it looked lame because I remember being captivated by the one puzzle and already knowing the answer. It's my favorite game series, and because I was a dumb little kid and asked my mom for help a lot she also ended up loving the series. One of my favorite bonding moments with her and it was all sparked by this brain teaser

Me before you make the first move: "dang, I can't think of anything that doesn't involve at least 4 moves."
Me as soon as you make the first move: "ok now I know exactly what the next 2 moves are. Wow, that was so simple, how did I not think of that?"
Before watching, I'd say make sure you have the coins on a plate or board, and have a second one nearby.
Step 1: put second plate over coins
Step 2: holding the two plates together, flip them
Step 3: take off top (now first) plate
Take the two from the bottom left and bottom right. Move them to the second to last row then take the lone coin at the top and move it to the bottom middle
“After showing you the first coin you will be able to guess the other 2”

My first thought was to just put my palm on all the pennies and rotate until I get my desired result. Never said that I had to play by the rules you laid out.
If you look at the 7 main coins they form a hexagon which is the basic shape of the arrow . Then you can manipulate the 3 outer coins to make the arrow point whenever you want to
coin 1: move top coin to bottom
coin 2: move one of the coins on the edge of last layer (up to down) and place it on the first layer on one of the two sides
coin 3: repeat “ coin two “
I thought he was going to flip over the coins to where they were all heads but still in a triangle.
This is the first puzzle that i can do by myself without wasting 30 minute

guys.. the title is wrong, the puzzle isn't to use 3 moves but to only move 3 coins as he said.. so the hand on all of them and rotate them isn't valid as more than 3 coins are moved.

There's actually a few solutions for this:
1. The solution in this video
2. Move the bottom right coin to the middle bottom, then move the top coin to the right of the second layer from the top, finally move the bottom left to the left of the second layer from the top.
3. Vice versa
Basically move all the corners that makes it look like it rotates to either right or left or like the one in this video.
Move the bottom left and right corners up top move top center to bottom center
I have so much coins in my hands so i have to try this even if I didn’t know 😁

Looks simple enough… wouldn’t just moving the bottom corners to the second row, then moving the top corner to the bottom, do it?
Exactly, it's the other way of creating the same design.
Bottom two on the top and the top to the bottom
Take the three corners and flop them to the opposite side. Top two corners, move down to the pair of pennies at the bottom in the bottom Penny moves up to the new pair of pennies at the top.
1. Move top coin clockwise one notch.
2. Move. Lower right coin clockwise one notch.
3. Move lower left coin clockwise one notch.
This will invert the triangle
I think everyone figured this "puzzle" out before you started talking.

I thought this was pretty easy. It took me a couple of seconds to solve it in my mind before I continued!

Move the two bottom corner coins up 2 rows, then move the top coin to the very bottom
I had a different way to do this. In the bottom row take penny No1 and place it beside the tip of the triangle leave penny No2 where it is and take pennies 3 and 4 and simply complete the shape
Move the bottom corners up and the middle top down
Move the corners to their opposite vertical positions: upper corner goes to bottom, each of the sides go up.
Or move one spot to another and you will see an upside down triangle

Moving the outermost 3 coins in either 1 move clockwise or anti-clockwise works just as well. The benefit of this method is none of the coins break contact to the rest of the puzzle.

There’s another way to do it. Grab the the coins at the vertices then you’re left with a hexagon. Next put two coins at the top left and right corners, then the last coin at the bottom.

The one on top goes on the bottom
Move the two pennies on the bottom corners of the original triangle up to rank 2, then move the top penny to the middle of the bottom
Top coin to the bottom, bottom corner coins to the top left/right
Bottom right, bottom left move to ether end of 2nd top row. Then move the top coin to the bottom.
Two sides to the top and top middle to the bottom. Easy.
I had the same solution and I figured it out within a second
I can do it in two:
1. place a piece of cardboard over the coins
2. flip the cardboard and material (with the coins inbetween) over

I genuinely thought you meant flip all the coins upside and not the triangle itself
Use your mind
1. Move the top coin to the bottom
2-3. Move the two coins on the corner to the top
Push the top coin (V,>)
Then arrange the rest of the three coins on the left
Bottom left to second from top, bottom right to second from top then top to bottom
Accidentally made three small triangles instead
1st one at the bottom, 2 on the lateral sides of the second last row will go up on the lateral sode of the second row from top.
While moving the three coins he also slightly moved the other coins. That's why the triangle looks upside down.
Take the left corner coin put it in the bottom middle take the the right side coin and the top and put them on the top left and right sides respectively

Move the very bottom left and right pennies to the 2nd to the top row, then take the top penny and move it all the way down (keeping it in the middle)
Place the top one in the bottom center and the two bottom sides at the top

For solving this brain-teaser, my strategy was to look for the area of coins similar between the right-side-up and upside-down triangles. From this point, it was easy to determine the solution, and behold, I was correct.
It's easy take two coins from last line and add them to the second line, then take the coin from 1st line and put it below the last line
First move the corner pennies of the longest row to row 2. Then just mov e the top row penny to the bottom row .
… there various ways : I move the one on the top on the next row down , than I move one coin to the third row up& than I move one beyond the first row .

take the top 1 and put it on the side opposite, then take the two outermost coins and do the same

My dumb ass thought "flip" as "turn it over".
The best way to figure this out (or at least how I figured it out quickly) is figure out a base that has more than one line of symmetry. Since it's a triangle, there are three corners and you can move 3 coins. Easy
yea I saw there was a whole hexagon in the middle, with 3 pennies forming corners and was like ohhhh just rotate the corners.
I needed just 1 minute to solve it.
You can also move three bottom coins to top floor
First move the corner coins to the second row and move the top coin in the bottom side
I hate all "puzzles" because of a riddle i came across in my youth. It goes like this:
You are locked in a metal cube/room with no windows or doors. It is completely sealed. The only things in the room are a wooden table and a wood cutting saw. How do you get out?
Cut the table in half with the saw. Now you have two halves. Two halves make a whole (hole). Crawl out through the hole.
Thought you meant flip the coins over, not rotate the triangle, cool puzzle nonetheless
You move the 2 bottom corners two pennies up, and the top coin all the way down.
Rotate the 3 corner coins so they're on the other sides of the inner hexagon
Give you 10 coins, lay out 5 straight lines with each consists 4 coins.
Take a penny off each corner, then move them around to make an upside down triangle
Take the two on each side of the bottom row and move them up to the second to top row, them move the top one to the bottom
