      @@beccaiskenough17 You do realize, that rotating an equilateral triangle 60 degrees essentially points it in the opposite direction. And obviously here, they didn't flip anything 180 degrees. Sorry translational geometry is difficult.

    My teacher gave us this puzzle in my first business studies lesson. I was the first to solve it. He always gave us puzzles like this, because he said the main problem with modern day business men and woman is that they can't solve problems in creative ways.
    He is retiring this year and I will really miss the brain teasers next year

    Step 1 - grab camera
    Step 2 - rotate camera any multiple of 60 degrees
    Step 3 - laugh in this guys face as you have flipped the triangle with only two moves

    Hint. The inner part of the triangle creates a hexagon shape. From there, you need to determine which way you would like the triangle to point.

      This. I noticed the symmetry. But I ALSO noticed... Because he said THREE moves, it got me thinking about which three pennies were... conspicuous. The brain trains itself to see patterns like that. So I saw the hexagon and the corners independently.

      Or another way to think of it is that you need 7 coins to stay stationary, and figure out which 7 would overlap if you imagine an upside down triangle overlaid on top of the original

    When I was a kid I remember a professor Layton and the Curious Village ad that had a lady playing it and it was this puzzle with some plates. I bought the game despite my mom saying it looked lame because I remember being captivated by the one puzzle and already knowing the answer. It's my favorite game series, and because I was a dumb little kid and asked my mom for help a lot she also ended up loving the series. One of my favorite bonding moments with her and it was all sparked by this brain teaser

    Me before you make the first move: "dang, I can't think of anything that doesn't involve at least 4 moves."
    Me as soon as you make the first move: "ok now I know exactly what the next 2 moves are. Wow, that was so simple, how did I not think of that?"

    Before watching, I'd say make sure you have the coins on a plate or board, and have a second one nearby.
    Step 1: put second plate over coins
    Step 2: holding the two plates together, flip them
    Step 3: take off top (now first) plate

    Take the two from the bottom left and bottom right. Move them to the second to last row then take the lone coin at the top and move it to the bottom middle

    My first thought was to just put my palm on all the pennies and rotate until I get my desired result. Never said that I had to play by the rules you laid out.

    If you look at the 7 main coins they form a hexagon which is the basic shape of the arrow . Then you can manipulate the 3 outer coins to make the arrow point whenever you want to

    coin 1: move top coin to bottom
    coin 2: move one of the coins on the edge of last layer (up to down) and place it on the first layer on one of the two sides
    coin 3: repeat “ coin two “

    guys.. the title is wrong, the puzzle isn't to use 3 moves but to only move 3 coins as he said.. so the hand on all of them and rotate them isn't valid as more than 3 coins are moved.

    Move the bottom left and right coin on either side of the second layer, then move the top coin below the 2 remaining coins on the bottom layer

    There's actually a few solutions for this:
    1. The solution in this video
    2. Move the bottom right coin to the middle bottom, then move the top coin to the right of the second layer from the top, finally move the bottom left to the left of the second layer from the top.
    3. Vice versa
    Basically move all the corners that makes it look like it rotates to either right or left or like the one in this video.

    Take the three corners and flop them to the opposite side. Top two corners, move down to the pair of pennies at the bottom in the bottom Penny moves up to the new pair of pennies at the top.

    I had a different way to do this. In the bottom row take penny No1 and place it beside the tip of the triangle leave penny No2 where it is and take pennies 3 and 4 and simply complete the shape

    Moving the outermost 3 coins in either 1 move clockwise or anti-clockwise works just as well. The benefit of this method is none of the coins break contact to the rest of the puzzle.

    There’s another way to do it. Grab the the coins at the vertices then you’re left with a hexagon. Next put two coins at the top left and right corners, then the last coin at the bottom.

    For solving this brain-teaser, my strategy was to look for the area of coins similar between the right-side-up and upside-down triangles. From this point, it was easy to determine the solution, and behold, I was correct.

    The best way to figure this out (or at least how I figured it out quickly) is figure out a base that has more than one line of symmetry. Since it's a triangle, there are three corners and you can move 3 coins. Easy

    I hate all "puzzles" because of a riddle i came across in my youth. It goes like this:
    You are locked in a metal cube/room with no windows or doors. It is completely sealed. The only things in the room are a wooden table and a wood cutting saw. How do you get out?
    Cut the table in half with the saw. Now you have two halves. Two halves make a whole (hole). Crawl out through the hole.

    Move the bottom corners to the two-penny row, and move the top penny to the bottom.
    So easy…

    Move all the corner most coins to the opposite side of the hexagonal center

    Coin 1 goes next to 3, coin 7 next to 2 and coin 10 under 8+9.
