Huh I thought this was a bit more on the thocky than clacky side. As the other user asked, can you share a thocky sound test?
anyone know where the clackiness comes from? is it because the stem poles are longer and are hitting the bottom of the case? I'm confused as to why JWK linears sound so crispy
@@ethanapalis2932 Jwks housings aren't dense, so sound doesn't get absorbed by the housing and the bottom out sound comes off as a lot more high pitched or clacky
@@ethanapalis2932 I don't know why but I pretty sure no switch out there that their pole are long enough to hit the bottom of the case

You always nail the case keycaps combo, the color palette, the gradient looks so good man! Nice 65%! It feels good that more and more hotswap are coming in the market, I will build a GMMK Pro (75% hotswap and rotary was too tempting) in the near future with some zealios 67g and a GMK Hyperfuse set! I started watching your videos 2 years ago and I knew nothing about mech back then, thanks for sharing you passion with us!

ALLO! Did you ever build a mechanical ortholinear keyboard with function keys? Does it even exist?
As long as you’ve got the instructions down pat, this keyboard looks really easy to put together! I feel like it really fits that in-between of the enthusiast and the casual keyboard builder, especially with the clean hotswap pcb. Just wish it had more thock to it, although going with the polycarbonate plate would probably meet my expectations!

ai03 boards are all enthusiast tier, he doesn't make low end stuff... although i feel the biggest flaw on the vega is the lack of DB
thock is very easy to achieve on plastic boards, which are often on the low cost tier of the hobby... so what is it man? you want cheap sound on a premium board? i'm not getting it

i probably won't have time to do one, but basically just use a brush lol. and then wipe with some non-damaging cleaner.

Honestly, most of the hype for Vega came from the FOMO from Polaris
Very clean board, but looks a lot like other 65% boards on the top-down view.

ai03 is the guy that made the voyager60 PCB, that layout isn't very interesting though.
I think a lot of peoples custom boards look really boring personally, but there's something about this boards simplicity I really enjoy

Do you do any “Band Aid” Mod to the stabs ?
depends on the board, and what type of feel I want. These new C3 stabs actually do come with stickers for some slight dampening, however I didn't use them in this build. But yup, I have done it with other boards.

I managed to purchased the InStock Vega Blue/Aluminum Plate and planning to use Durock v2 Stabs... do you think its necessary to do the band aid mod ?

Do you recommend using the foam between the pcb and plate? What effects does it have on the sound and typing experience?
sad to see nobody responded to your inquiry... foam cheapens the sound of the board so avoid it at all costs unless it's a budget build
foam shouldn't be anywhere near high end keyboards, it's a detrimental addition
I have a 2 RAMA, a sirius, a savage65 and a Polaris WKL, and I always go back to the Polaris. Something about it that I want put my finger on. I can only imagine the VEGA. def sad that I missed GB
