So majestic. Makes you feel so small . The mountains just stand their in all their beauty, not caring if you can conquer them or not.

That small feeling is hard to describe when it hits you.

I always look forward to your comments. We've really been trying to show more of the mountains that we live in and diversify our content from just the bikepacking and gravel rides. I love to ride but to not share this wilderness with others is crazy. Based off the views though the cycling is all most people want to see. I hope to change that because I feel that calls themselves an outdoor enthusiast can appreciate the wilderness despite the activity. I also feel it's boring after a while to make the same content and do only one activity when humans are designed to move and explore in so many ways. Thank you for seeing the bigger picture with where the channel is going. There will still be a lot of cycling to watch though.

I injured my Achilles this week so I will be living vicariously through your videos for a bit while I recover.
This hike looks amazing though. I’m going to put it in my list for next year.

Oh no, sorry about your Achilles, I've been there myself, have you heard of doing eccentric calf drops to rehab and prehab that? Completely solved the issue and has never come back. I always like to share the things that help me with others. Definitely add the bonds to your list. You won't be dissapointed. It's breathtaking out there. Thanks for saying hello! Heal up quick🤞

@@ThatMountainMoment thanks for the tip. I’ll have to do that. Definitely don’t want this to happen again.

How did you injure it? Also foam rolling the calves consistently helps. It really is a painfully annoying injury. Tight calves tend to play tug of war with the Achilles tendon where it's connected to your heel. It's common in cyclists and people that run on incline grades a lot.

Dang, well we hope it gets better. That seems like an easy sport to damage that tendon for sure.

    Amazing!! Love the colors.
I did some hammock camping, gravel riding and leaf viewing in the Hoosier National Forest this weekend. Stopped at a cool bridge to eat a bar. When I opened it, half of it fell on the road. I asked myself “what would Niki do?” So I picked it up and ate it🤣

Ha ha, we are cracking up right now! You nailed it. She'll never forgo carbs, even for sanitary reasons. Are you still in peak foliage there. The trees here are now bare and awaiting the long winter. No better sleep than a hammock in the outdoors.

The leaves are AMAZING right now. Wish I could attach a video to this, my buddy brought a drone down last weekend and got some great shots. Hammocks are fantastic, sleeping under the stars is the way to go.

When we lived in Danville we would drive to Brown County during foliage. It was indeed very beautiful. The drones are awesome, I'm slowly setting funds aside to get one to enhance the videos we make

could you do a rig run-down of your gear?
like camera, bike brand/model (with drivetrain details), camping equipment, and such? and maybe give an idea about why you chose the things you did?
also, when you do your overnighters/multi-days, how you manage food and showers.

    • @ThatMountainMoment
      @ThatMountainMoment  2 года назад

Absolutely! That exact type of content is coming and you just made me want to start on it even more. As winter approaches we have some reviews, rig rundowns, and some products we tested for a company that we really like. You must be reading my mind because Nikki and I were just discussing this yesterday. I can at least give you a very simple answer for the camera now because everything is done on a gopro. It's the only camera I own. Many people think I use other cameras but it's what you do in post editing and the camera settings that give it a less typical gopro look on some occasions. I'm going to do a video on that as well since that's been a popular question. Anything specific you'd like to see first?

I've always liked fairly simple and affordable gear/processes and then really extracting the most out of that by really dialing what you have. We're always on a budget so I think most will find how we do things very relatable.
