    I bought this water heater ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8G49mV71sAzUl9shXyLW-r3XgHH9EVh1 for use in my bus conversion. I installed it under my kitchen sink and it is fed by a high efficiency on-demand LP water heater. It is both a backup hot water source as well as a water saving device since we have hot water on demand rather than having to wait for the gas on demand water heater to finish its ignition cycle. I decided on this water heater due to the fact that it only draws 1300watts when it's ON instead of the 1500 watts that most Water heaters this size draw. In an RV a couple hundred watts can be a big deal. With very low standby losses, I don't have to worry about excessive power consumption. When propane is not available for our gas water heater, in conjunction with our low flow shower head there is enough hot water available to shower, albeit we won't be taking "hotel showers." Also very happy with the recovery rate of this water heater. Granted, it is quite small, but it does exactly what we need it to do.

    We have this exact same heater. Recently our 7yo heater was only luke warm. Watched a lot of videos and thought I would have to flush out sediment, but most advised not doing that. Turns out my lady accidentally bumped the temp knob with a vacuum cleaner and had nudged it way down! I wish manufacturers would make the marking on the knob a bright arrow because it was really hard to see what the setting had changed to, and how about instead of letters, use the actual projected temperature! I think I saw elsewhere that A equals 120, B equals 130, and C equals 140, but not 100% sure. I think I will buy a thermometer and check it as noted at a few different faucets.

    I cranked mine up to C and its PERFECT for my particular house hold because we use alot of hot water and now we never run out because the heater can keep up vs when we first got the heater and didn't realize it was set on low thinking we had a heater that sucked and its supposed to be a quick recovery gas heater. Learn something new everyday.🤣 Most people never give it much thought and think its normal to run out of hot water after 5 mins in the shower.

      100% and I would guess at least 50% of home owners don't even know you can adjust the water heater temp. Also handy to crank down if you are going to be out of town for a bit to save a little on the gas bill.

      so with you turning up your temperature on your water heater it made your hot water in the shower last longer ? because that’s my issue we have hot water for like 10 mins and then it goes cold. Mine was set on “low” before this video as well !

    • @Deklectic
      @Deklectic 3 года назад +2

      @@masaudiman Yeah Its worked well for me so far.. We use to have the same issue but play around with the temp adjuster and see whats good for your particular house hold.. Hope it helps because I feel your pain I hate running out of hot water.. I would have to take a hot shower for an HR or more straight for me to run out now when before just 10 mins would suck the water cold. I also have a Gas water heater I'm not sure how much that differs from an electric water heater now a days because technology is much better so that might play a factor too I'm in no way a professional on this topic hence the reason I turned to RUclips like everyone else 🤣

    • @101perspective
      @101perspective 2 года назад +2

      Not sure if you are still having this problem or not. If so, the problem is that you probably have a limiter on your faucet/shower. It prevents you from turning your heat all the way up. At the end of his video he provides a link where you can go to learn how to adjust it.

    I always turn mine to very hot. I like a steamy hot bath. Like, hot hot. I just moved. I cleaned the bathroom before using it (even though it's gorgeous as is) I got in and immediately realized it was under lukewarm. The lukewarm water ran out before the bath could get half way full. So the kids and I got out and I switched it to very hot. Just want to make sure it's safe to do. The kids are old enough not to get scolded by it, but I don't want to push it or blow up. It's brand new. It should be ok right?

    Of course one would be scolded by 120 degree water as a hot shower is around 104 degrees and the safety valve in the shower or at the boiler is adjustable and probably limited at 104. However if you had the hot water set at 160 and the the 160 degree water in tank with be tempered with cold water to come out of the shower head at 104. Thus I higher water temperture setting for hot water tank provides a larger buffer of hot water for the family.

      @@EverydayHomeRepairs Boilers or Hot water tanks should have Tempering valves in line on the hot water line in basement leading to shower and faucets. These Tempering valves have cold water lines with a limiter usually set at 104. The 140F water in tank will provide a larger hot water supply but for the user a valve will limit it to 104F with the cold water also feeding into it (tempering)

      Rotating the knob towards the pilot setting will lower the temperature. It will take a bit as the hot water cools or moves through the hot water pipes but within the day it should become cooler.
