I know he plays in a band and writes music but I wouldn’t use his covers vs the original artist to judge who can “play better”. We know they are both awesome, so in the end it doesn’t really matter

I thought Neil Pert was good, which he is. Then, I came across El Estepario and my mind is just totally blown each time I watch him play, and with a three piece kit. WOW!! What a drummer. He owns this completely. It’s even more fun to watch drummers watch him play and just lose their minds at how good he is.
He also plays with the original drums in the background slightly. Not cheating, but does help his sound. There’s some hits and tones that get more cymbals than he has.

This is the type of talent that this man has.
