I am doing Psyc Major, and I went to this area because I wanted to learn about people, disorders, treatments ... not math or stats... and this second semesters it hit me hard - starting research and design, statistics ... OMG... this brings so much anxiety. we had such a great semester #1 learning a lot about history of psychology, brain, all that neuroscience... I was feeling like being in love with a butterflies in my stomach, and now I absolutely discouraged because having myself ADHD and learning stats ...and maths... its mentally killing me... I wish we learn more about people, perceptions, emotions, predispositions, bio-chemical reactions affecting behaviour rather than research and math... started to look for the tutor, to survive my hard days... eh

Hey I’m a freshman this upcoming fall semester and the reason I wanted to go into psychology was because of that last bit of the paragraph you said but I never knew what field that would be in or if there was a word to describe so i decided to aim for psych do you believe that’s right?

YK RESEARCH MATH AND STATS ARE EXTREMELY INTERGAL FOR PSYCH RIGHT? ESPEICALLY PSYCHOLOGICAL LITERATURE THERE WOULD BE NO KNOWLEGE OF DISORDERS TREATMENT OR HELL EVEN THE DSM 5 WITHOUT MATHS OR STATS HOW CAN YOU CHOOSE A DEGREE AND NOT EXACTLY KNOW WHAT IT ENTAILS AND HAVE SUCH A SUPERFICIAL COMMON SENSICAL IDEA OF PSYCH? IRONICALLY THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU ACTUALLY DID EVEN A MINMIAL AMOUNT OF PROPER RESEARCH BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR DEGREE AND SPENDING SM MONEY ON IT

Hi, I'm a Senior Psychology major preparing myself to apply for grad school. Being a psychology major came with a lot more paperwork than expected (APA papers), but it definitely helped me create more organized papers. I chose psych because I love working with people and understanding them, so the research part did catch me slightly off guard. I did have so much fun throughout the past years though. You can tell the professors are incredibly passionate about their jobs, which helps me learn so much easier. It really is an amazing major!

Hello. Where did you study psychology?
One thing that scares me about this video is the part about pleasing your professors, by giving the answer they agree with most. That sounds terrible. I am a very sensitive person and if I have to bow down to someone else's beliefs to get a high mark, I don't know if I could handle that.
Furthermore, are you working as a psychologist now and how is the experience is so?
    Thanks for all the info!!!

Many professors are very understanding, however, there are many psychologists clashing with each other's ideas all the time. For example, behaviorists and cognitivists. I am also a very sensitive person, but I've always felt so welcome in this major :)

Undergraduate psychology programs might be a let down for you if you already have a degree in another field. Basically, they don't prepare you for any type of career. Most career options afetr studying psychology start at the Master's level. If you're still in undergrad and are thinking about switching to a psych program in grad school, take the core major courses now as free electives cuz grad school programs will ask that you have them done before they accept you.

Finland isn't the best, it's amazing for study however after your studies it's a nightmare if you want to love there so it completely depends on what you want, do you want to move permanently, live in the country you study in, move after that Ect, Ect, I'd recommend Switzerland, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden & Germany. Finland, & Norway (Norway is outside the EU I know, also bachelor's are in Norwegian only) are also very good. They all have there pros and cons so i'd do some research and then decide also make sure you know what you want to study obviously. If you don't mind answering, what do you want to study? The Netherlands at the moment has a housing crisis and student accommodation can be challenging to find or expensive. Denmark is notorious for being difficult to make friends, Danish is very prevalent outside Copenhagen so there will be a lot less multilingual signs ECT, also danish is notoriously hard to learn because of its unique pronunciation. It's incredibly hard to find a job in Finland since nationals are preferred in almost all circumstances this you need to basically speak fluent Finnish. (one of the hardest languages) That's really the major cons except weather and what people define as 'cold culture" being closed off and non social which is common place in every Scandinavian country. I can't think of any major cons for Sweden, Germany & Norway except for some people it can be incredibly hard to assimilate into these cultures. Switzerland is the ultimate all rounder, I'd recommend studying in the German part, Thanks.
