Which is the fame American Werewolf In London has. And both were released the same year, 1981. And it’s a great movie. But I prefer this one, by far. AWIL protagonist spends a lot of time secluded in his girlfriend’s house and having visions of his dead zombie-friend. The Howling has an exciting plot, starting with the setup to catch the serial killer (one of the best openings ever), the therapy commune, and everything that happened after. The transformation scene gave me nightmares as a kid because the actor transforms in real time, make up effects, instead of editing.
Because of the ensemble cast of actors. They are all so talented. The special effects are secondary. There are behind the scenes of this movie where the special effects are not completed yet while filming and you can see just the acting itself. It’s superb.
Dee Wallace: underrated actress who did NOT get enough work. At least she scored E.T. She invested ENTIRELY in this role, and was the most exquisite thing in the film.
Didn't get enough work? I have just looked at her filmography on IMDB, & she has 263 credits. Good job she didn't get more work, as she would never do anything else but work.
@@youngsteph1 Well then, shut MY mouth, I guess. Maybe what I meant to say is: More work befitting an actress capable of such nuance. Complete with awards and big salaries.
@@cutletofcthulhu8079 I didn't mean to be rude. I just watched a film she was in & noticed on IMDB how many credits she had, being mighty impressed, then went to this clip & saw your comment. Perhaps, as you say should have got better roles.
@@cutletofcthulhu8079 Yes I get you. She's definitelly a horror queen: The Howling, Cujo, Critters, and The Hills Have Eyes. But her performances were always very nuanced and tridimensional. She's extremely talented.
I know David Allen explained his decisions in an interview, but I’ve never understood why he chose such straightforward lighting on the puppet. If that scene had been lit with shadowy gobos and the werewolf kept mostly in the dark, it would have been so great.
Would've liked to see more of David Allen's stop motion werewolves that were cut. Because the scenes shot looked like they were from a totally different flick.
Yeah, but Joe Dante probably knew that audiences had seen way too much porn by then. You can't watch the jacuzzi scene without expecting some girl-on-girl action. lol 😆
Amazing movie. Too bad I can't find it anywhere to watch fully. Tubi has everyone but the original. :( It's my favorite one. So scary. God I love this movie.
im obsessed with elizebeth brooks r,i,p,very lucky man christopher stone to have made that love making scene with elizebeth brooks,it looks like sex does not get any better than that r.i.p. christopher stone,
Thing is there is nothing to offend anyone. The transcript for the missing audio is; "That always happens after a heavy session. But that’s part of accepting the gift- opening up and letting it all come out. I’ve found parts of me I didn’t know existed." Why cut that I wonder?
I love WEREWOLVES SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🐺🐾 Happy 42nd Anniversary "THE HOWLING" (APRIL 10, 1981)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🐺🐾🐺🐾
One of the best Werewolf movies ever made for sure. Look at the crap studios are making now. Werewolf by night was damn good. See that if you can. Good fights
That part where she enters the cabin...I believe the werewolf was the doctor. Or not, either way fucking scary. My DVD is VHS level grainy. Is this an hd version?
I believe this is the best werewolf movie ever made
It is hands down and it's sad it hasn't been another one like this ever made
@@107g I 100 percent agree with u I just thought this had a really good story
I so agree. Especially the transformation in the daylight when her friend comes looking for her. Omg it was so scary.

I think her daughter has a tiktok
Dee Wallace is just a gorgeous woman.
FUCK.
Dee Wallace was like a REAL PERSON dropped in the middle of a herd of actors.
Too good for the rest of the cast.
Dee Wallace is Such a Total Hottie in The Howling, That Was The Best Horror Movie Of All Time, Ever!
This film scared the life out of me when I saw it at the cinema
It was 1 of the first R rated films I saw as a kid with my late pop when I was 11 years old, Ms. Attard
It scared the hell out of me😯
Lol right
This movie was really a classic. Rest in peace eternally to Elisabeth Brooks and Chris Stone.
omg that werewolf! i know its stop motion but its great!
Yeah, but I can see why they left it out. At the very end, they used them but they made it look really good.
I agree. It was great.

Slim Pickens he was a great actor / comedian but man he played this role pretty damn good if you ask me ......
Dee Wallace was such a babe.
It's good to see Patrick McNee from The Avengers
This is The Best werewolf movie. I’ve watch this movie when i was younger.
It’s time for this long underrated movie to be re-edited and hopefully an extended edition released
@A E I'm irresistibly inclined to agree 💯🎯% with you on that.
Absolutely!!
@A E agree.

Sinbad?
11:23 when the werewolf appears in the woods.
They should kept the jacuzzi scenes. They were good.

Something I knew but never noticed, she was absolutely gorgeous. Reminds me of Kirsten Dunst, more beautiful even.
Amazing movie. Too bad I can't find it anywhere to watch fully. Tubi has everyone but the original. :(
It's my favorite one. So scary. God I love this movie.
I had to add a channel on my Amazon subscription to watch the original. Just binge watched all of these movies over the Labor Day weekend.
Is there a scene with Marsha escaping because I've seen the pictures of her over the barn during the fire?
Sadly no.
Her eyes were mesmerizing
im obsessed with elizebeth brooks r,i,p,very lucky man christopher stone to have made that love making scene with elizebeth brooks,it looks like sex does not get any better than that r.i.p. christopher stone,
Dee Wallace..yum!
He was married to Dee so he was a happy man. She was so truly beautiful in this movie.
Audio dropped out at 5:38, didn't return until 5:51. What gives? Too much sexually explicit language for the soft audience?
