One of the most excellent movies, the ladies did awesome. I seen this movie when I was little and it stuck with me all my life so In turn I have my children watch it, plus other classics.
@Ron Rossmore I don't care, she was still great in the movie. That movie is now a classic and a cult classic. Its a huge iconic classic to the gay community, the Gay Community loves that movie. Gays love camp, and over the top. That movie was like a throwback to the Golden Era of black and white movies, very over the top and dramatic and a great movie.
it is worth noting that roughly six years prior to her passing, Joan Crawford once remarked in her autobiography 'My Way of Life' that “Of all the actresses, to me, only Faye Dunaway has the talent and the class and the courage it takes to make a real star.” indeed, Faye Dunaway was the perfect actress to portray Joan Crawford. There is absolutely no doubt that Faye Dunaway did a superb job of simultaneously exuding both vulnerability and resoluteness in her portrayal of Joan Crawford in the 1981 Frank Perry film 'Mommie Dearest.'

I was just listening to Christina's reading of the book and the chapter focused on Mrs Chadwick accidentally telling Joan that Christina was wearing her coat to class, that she did this, and that she did that. Mrs. Chadwick wasn't as nice as portrayed in the movie, she was a true Crawford Kiss-Ass...as all the rest of her minions were. Sounds a lot like Trump.
What was you expecting Carol Ann to do?? She was the help during the depression and ww2, if she'd done anything to protect those children she would've lost her job. There weren't any child protective laws and the type of abuse joan allegedly did was viewed as normal parenting.
@@ladyvolshoopsfan to be accurate, world war II ended the great depression and Christina was still a toddler. the abuse. began well after that. It might have been public domain. They probably didn't have rights to use clips from Mildred Pierce or Baby Jane or others when making this documentary

One of the "great movies." Faye.....you did a superb job. We love it!

Some day a film ought to be made about the making of this iconic Hollywood biopic.
When Joan said Faye would be the best at portraying her, I doubt she meant like this lol
I absolutely love Mancini's score for Mommie Dearest.
Yes, he really captured the sound of 1940s melodrama in the early 1980s. Very nice.
I agreee. It's the one thing that makes this landmark film so unforgettable and haunting.
Faye Dunaway was extraordinary in that movie, A true cult classic.

Faye Dunaway was perfect for that part. She embodied Joan Crawford. It was almost spooky how much she favors her. She sounded like her too.
"Tina, bring me the axe!"
How could people be stupid to think that the actress did a 6 year old then a teen ager in the same movie, same year? 😂
Tenacious you forget. This is the public you're referring to. Generally they're idiots.
Orion 😂 true that!

It's Hollywood!
Actually this is the "Behind the scenes" documentary in the actual DVD movie "Mommie Dearest"...
Thank God the old Christina got better looking....NOW.. 😂
She aged nice.
Yes Mommy Dearest.
No wire hangers!!!
Bring me the 🪓 🌹 😂
Now Faye Goneaway is Box Office poison 😂
I don't know why I disliked the character Carol Ann so much she did not protect those children at all it made me mad LOL
patrick lane I can see why. I feel Carol Ann was a enabler.
Carol Ann wasn't a real person! Lol! She was a representation of the help Joan hired over her career.

If you’re a Hollywood Divo and Diva! You’re gonna slip down so fast.
It was a good movie, but I still feel she wasn't accurately portrayed. Faye even said that herself.
Am I watching the movie? Or a commentary on the movie? I can't quite tell!
Commentary
Sorry I wasn't too explicit in the title.
Are you that simple ?
Commentary, ding-a-ling

Faye Dunaway’s performance was not “amazing”, it was over-acting. Chewing the scenery.
She had to do it her way and she made it into a dark cult comedy 😅 now she doesn't want to talk about it 🤣 but it's her fault that it is what it is.
