Awesome vid man I was looking at the reviews on Amazon and saw that u posted a video link and decided to check it out, and this really helped! Personally I think the v-Moda sounds better and that will be the one I get. Definitely liking and subscribing!
Only having to manage a single cord is fantastic, if your current set of cans use a detachable 3.5mm cord. Unfortunately, a lot of headphones either don't use detachable cable, or use a proprietary connection. It's a shame, as I definitely prefer how it sounds over the Mod Mic, and would've loved to use it with my high-end Sennheiser cans.
+SuicideAnomaly which sennheisers do you have? After a little research I found that it should be pretty easy to make my HD 598's work through a little tweaking. Tons of people do it with the 558's
The modmic arm wobbles too much. That would drive my eye crazy seeing it jiggly all the time. The boompro is slimmer, and looks more stiffer like a traditional headset. I just picked up these headphones too and was in the debate of these two mics. The vmoda is more sensitive too which is a plus. No need to turn it up, I think right? What was the input source for the mics? Was there boost added? Any kind of suppression? Or just a straight FLAT method with filters off?
This was great aside from one thing. I'd really like to hear a comparison of ambient noise. For example, I have a mechanical keyboard which is know to be on the excessively audible side. For me, it gets annoying being in a call with other people whose mic pics up every little keystroke and mouse click. I don't want to be that guy.
the Vmoda is omnidirectional, while the Modmic has either a unidirectional or omnidirectional option unidirectional will cut down on any noise besides what is going directly into the mic
Nice review, man! :D Just found it because I was looking for some V-Moda videos. :) I'm about to switch to a headphone-mic combo instead of shitty and overpriced gaming headsets.
pretty good review. just to add, I have sennheiser hd 558's and the cable for the modmic is almost exactly the same length and with the cable clips you can manage that extra cabling but it can be annoying if you cant get a good setup. The modmic seems a little more natural sounding, but the boompro is much more flexible and stable. Would love to see modmic 5.0 adopt some of the charactertics of the boompro, namely the single cable and small yet sturdy and flexible arm for the mic.
OLD MAN GAMUR I like them. I'm by no means an audiophile. Before these I had hyperx cloud 1 and 2, logitech g930,and Ps gold and by far the 558s are much better than anything I've had even without an amp. I do end up adjusting them after long periods though it's not uncomfortable. The hyperx cloud 2 had the best fit for me and the perfect clamp for me. But the 558s are still comfortable.
+John Wall personally i like vmoda for the simple reason of cable management. The sound is great from both and different ears will hear it differently.
Great video! I have a V-moda BoomPro, and I cannot say that it is not worth every penny spent. I do a question for you though - are you using a separate audio interface, or are you just plugging it into a pre-existing motherboard / laptop headphone jack? Thanks!
The antlion mic is more quiet so it doesn't pick up as much noise as v moda plus it sounds more clear. Yes it adds another wire but if you care more about mic clarity its obvious who the winner is if you dont mind spending $20 more dollars. :)
Yikes the V-Moda is $24 USD in Canada and the ModMic 4.0. is $128. x.x. Ah well I'd go with the Moda anyway since my RIG's have a detachable mic and I like the sound better.
But what if I want to buy the boompro but the headset i want to get doesn't have a detachable cord? (Hyper cloud II's) please answer asap I want to buy it
+BrandenBands Yes muteable. And wouldnt make sense to use it as standalone mic without it inserting as part of the headset. Although you could do that.
+OLD MAN GAMUR well I want to plug it into ps4 and I really want to get the hypercritical clouds, but the only way I can think of using it is plugging the boompro into the detachable mic on the clouds but idk if that will work? Do you?
+OLD MAN GAMUR how does the sound of these mics compare to that plantronics 780s you had there? i ask because i've had the 780s for two years untill the headband cracked recently and now im shopping for a new mic headset combo. Thanks
+OLD MAN GAMUR i ask because i need to replace my 780's due to a cracked headband, Thanks for the reply, btw which of these 2 mics would you recommend?
I picked up a modmic myself because I use the Sennheiser HD598 which has a 2.5mm connection and locking system and after hearing the comparison im glad i chose this cans/mic combo

Addison Buhl Hey thanks for the feedback glad to help~!
Great review, thanks. I chose the v-moda after seeing this review, it seems to be the clear winner.
Hey glad to help!
Thank you Aryan

Cb1scu1t thanks bud. How you liking the 558? i have on the phillips 9500. Clamping force not too good.

Nice! Thanks for posting, I have a V-Moda and was wondering if I should try the ModMic but I like the V-Moda sound and having one less cable.
+John Wall personally i like vmoda for the simple reason of cable management. The sound is great from both and different ears will hear it differently.

Just pluggin it in .. :). Thanks for watching!
OLD MAN GAMUR Thanks for replying! Keep up the good work!
+Huy P. different motherboards give different sounds, if you aren't pleased with the sound, you should try a USB sound card.
Great review but you forgot to tell that with the v-moda boom pro you can also adjust the volume. Something that you can't with the modmic.
ThisGameLags Thanks so much your right i will add it to the comment info section.
Great video man! Nd yeah v moda is much better :p
Thanks for watchin

OLD MAN GAMUR Thanks
You can get the ModMic for cheaper prices on their partnered websites. www.modmic.com/pages/international-partners
But what if I want to buy the boompro but the headset i want to get doesn't have a detachable cord? (Hyper cloud II's) please answer asap I want to buy it
And is the vmoda boompro muteable?
+BrandenBands Yes muteable. And wouldnt make sense to use it as standalone mic without it inserting as part of the headset. Although you could do that.
+OLD MAN GAMUR well I want to plug it into ps4 and I really want to get the hypercritical clouds, but the only way I can think of using it is plugging the boompro into the detachable mic on the clouds but idk if that will work? Do you?
I am thinking about getting the shp9500s but will the vmoda boom pro pick up the sound from the open back headphones?
Nope it wont
if you have headphones with a lock in it like sennheiser dont get the boompro unless you are willing to cut the metel locks out
Thanks!
Does the audio from the headphones ever bleed into the v moda boom pro microphone
+Light games nope it does not but great question
+OLD MAN GAMUR how does the sound of these mics compare to that plantronics 780s you had there? i ask because i've had the 780s for two years untill the headband cracked recently and now im shopping for a new mic headset combo. Thanks
***** This mic is better clearer although the 780 is good as well and unless your doing vids or streaming it fine the 780
+OLD MAN GAMUR i ask because i need to replace my 780's due to a cracked headband, Thanks for the reply, btw which of these 2 mics would you recommend?
+infring1 THIS ONE.. THE VMODA..
Good video thanks!
thanks bud
thanks for helping!
No prob
I wuv ur review
thanks!
Here is another headset/mic review if you guys wanna see a complete set and how it sounds..ruclips.net/video/RnGo55q9eLo/видео.html
I think the ModMic sounds better myself. Also you don't need headphones with a universal 3.5mm input.
No you dont but its just more wires sitting around if you dont...
OLD MAN GAMUR The cable clips help with this, so I don't find it to be an issue.
I picked up a modmic myself because I use the Sennheiser HD598 which has a 2.5mm connection and locking system and after hearing the comparison im glad i chose this cans/mic combo
Nice enjoy..
Xenohart237 That's what I use haha.
mic reviews..
Haha those that are having issues with the mic obviously have to shitty amps or dacs to drive their headphones with the mic combined...
if you smoke weed im subbing
