The stock boom pro sound very natural, I much prefer it to the stock Elgato sound and also to the EQd Boom Pro, which was a bit boxy.
This is the beauty of these things, it's all subjective. You can prefer one style and I can prefer the other yet we can both be right. It all depends on what kind of sound we want for the given situation. Cheers! Thank you for your input.

Hi. Thanks for the video. This info is really insightful. I'm thinking of getting v-moda boom pro and wanted to ask should I go for the original or the x version? Original is omni directional and ig the x model is cardioid (uni?). I've read a lot of negative comments about the x model having poor audio quality in the mic input, but some have said this comes at the cost of more noise cancelling (NC), so better in office environments. My primary use will be in a crowded office space, sometimes at home with background noise so NC is pretty important for me but not at the cost of poor quality sound. Any insights on this would be really helpful!
Thank you for your detailed reply and question. I have personally never used the newer X version of the mic but from the research I’ve done it definitely sounds inferior to the older boom pro. Although it will reject background noise much better.
For me, my priority is sound quality so I prefer the boom pro. But if your priority is voice isolation, then the newer mic. I will say this however, when positioned right and gain is set properly, the older boom pro has decent voice isolation. I will be producing a review soon so hopefully it can help with your decision.

May I ask what are the budget friendly phones that it can fit on?
When you look for something on a budget you have to accept the fact that you need to concede some of the quality aspects when it comes to technology. With that said, in my experience one of the best headphones on a budget is the Philips SHP9500. I hope this helps, thank you for watching.

To bad this wont work for xbox, but im using the philips shp9500 with the mic as a headset its great. Do you think the fidelio would be a upgrade?
The SHP9500 is legendary. In my opinion one of the best entry level headsets ever made. I used to have a set of those that I used for years. I personally wanted a fuller sound with more warmth and bass in it (and without the harsh high end)… so eventually I upgraded to the Fidelio X2HR. For my personal use case I did think they were better overall however the one advantage the SHP9500 did have was something called “soundstage”.
It’s the perceived space in the sound landscape (which was very important to me when trying to listen to incoming enemy footsteps.) more often than not I would accurately be able to pinpoint the direction they came from while using the SHP9500’s.

Please keep in mind that it has been years since I shop for new headphones, keep an open mind that there might be something better by now. I wish I had more knowledge on this topic but please keep me updated if you find a better alternative. Cheers!
