Never forget the night you, me and the band sat and talked, laughed and had a few beers Schulemberg Chilly cook off. You autographed my bandana, we shook hands and wished each other well. A memory I'll cherish forever. RIP CHARLIE.,

Rip Charlie A true Texas country artist pioneer and one off the greats This is my favorite song of his. I have a short story I just told my 13 old daughter that during the middle of this song 2002 ka chillie cookoff Buffalo spring lake Lubbock at Texas tech My dumb as 18 yr old self threw a beer on stage and got him square in chest. He stopped song and said “if your going to throw a beer at me make sure it’s not half full” laughed and smiled and restarted song where he left off. Crowd went wild and a ton of beers were throw all over. Was a down to earth true Texas great. Will always remember this. God bless Texas and Charlie’s family and his music will live forever. He’s playing with the angles now and still strumming his accoustic guitar in heaven.
Charlie, corry morrow, jack ingram and much more playing at the dusty rowdy party. By far him singing this song everyone drunk and the atmosphere was electric and will never forget. If your from Texas tech 02 to 06 I bet y’all made at least one chillie cook off at lake. Best college experience and meeting my wife of 18 years at Texas tech. Hope tech hasn’t changed a bit and become like a and m or UT. Haven’t been there in many years.
@@FanchiniinNever thought much of Texas, .. as in being from NY, it didn't cross my mind much, not that I held it in low esteem. Try to not being such a snowflake. It makes life easier.
My husband and I were at this show! it was amazing as always! No one is quite like Charlie and that's a good thing. He definitely deserves more attention than he gets. Also, he has a big heart and doesn't ask for a pat on the back, he just helps people in need and drives across the state to do what Texans do. Great memories watching this video!
My son really liked this man’s music and Texas Country in general. Sorry to admit that his music never appealed to me too much and I tried. But neither does most Texas Country. Wish it did. But this is what’s nice about music. It touches people/souls in different ways. I respect his career, that he knew who he was and didn’t change for anyone. Talented man indeed. Sorry to see him gone from the music scene. But happy he had his time, lived his dream, touched hearts of his fans, and is no longer in pain. Wish his family the very best.
@@perryspradlin5929 One show I worked for him, it was snowing. The band knew that they weren't going anywhere so they play almost until closing time. Charlie got drunk and went into the crowd and took some guys cowboy hat and put it in himself and walked through the crowd. It was one of his best shows at Wormy dog.
I was a musician masquerading as an energy executive in San Antonio in the mid 90s up to a few years. ❤ Damn glad we crossed paths a couple of times, and so great full for the music. I was a tourist with an interest and no connections, and was allays grateful for the music. Thank you.
Discovered his music in the summer of 2021, driving a U-Haul between Marin County and Humboldt County 15 times in 10 weeks, moving my family. Fantastic songwriter, aural heart surgery. RIP.
Great song no one can do it like Charlie, he owns this song. Great lament nice licks on the guitar, can't stop singing it when I drive today, I wish I had a my picture with the Rolling Stones today too!
I dig the lead guitar pickers sound my brother Rebel r.i.p. played a 72 Fender Telecaster with the older Bill Lawrence humbuckers he put in her that guitar was a thing of beauty he could twang, blues, rock and the Ole girl always sounded great
Charlie gives no fucks! This is great stuff! Good on ya, Charlie, and keep up the great work with your music and with helping the great people of Oklahoma in their time of need. You rock!
Great guitar player, great Tone!!! My brother R,I,P, Bo/Rebel played lead guitar for 30 years with a 72 Telecaster with older Bill Lawrence Humbuckers and he had great tone, nice n smooth a lot like this guy.
Works for my bud! Traveling for bass tournaments leaves too much in ambiguity is a relationship with folks back home. We gotta do what we gotta do, just the way it is...
Saw him bust the bottom out of it at Old Ziggy's in Winston years ago. He doesn't get east much so many people in attendance were from up and down the eastern seaboard. Unpasteurized music is the best. Enable Me...
I just now heard and watched the you boys play n sing. I really liked it! Keep making great music! FYI...if you do enough coke, you won't even want cavier. Lol.
