Heard this live twice. Roadhouse in New Mexico and again outdoors at Colorado City Days. Pretty cool. JTs wife said the rest of the band died not want to do it.
Wow !!! I'm blown away. Two of the best songs ever written put together...... Damn..... only one face to be found, she sat back in the rear , that cold hearted bitch didn't shed a single tear..... made me cry
Ioss my bf 39 yrs together lost him two yrs ago beautiful life and he was a great e and this music is great and love purple rain ☔ awesome job Jackson Taylor songs are so good love them ❤️
Never thought I would hear a version of these two songs in a southern rock form and go together like they did it. Pretty damn good the way they did it.
Bud Clark, a friend a I have had a band in NC since '08. He grew up stone cold country. I have always leaned towards blues/rock. When we got together we played mostly his choices. (he was a lead guitar session player in N'ville for years) When he started into Purple Rain at practice one night I thought he was crazy. He began telling me how popular it was in clubs and bars. So we started playing it out. He was right. We eventually play anything except bluegrass. To this day, the vast majority of crowds can and do sing along to it. Go figure. 😉
@@wildestcowboy2668 😂 I can relate. Even when we did play a little of it we would do a verse and chorus and end it. We liked the Jackson Taylor version but it seemed to us like it was his version, just show props by not trying to copy it. If so they remain vewy, vewy quiet.😉 Keep safe and bend a few along the way. 🤜🤛 👌 🇺🇲
This is possibly one of the best covers I have ever heard! Took the classic, He stopped loving her, and fuck knows what you guys did! But Jesus christ it works! It works really well! And then merging purple rain with an adapted bridge!! Absolutely superb guys 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
the WORST version !!! If you're talking about " He stopped loving her today " !!! This beautiful, sad, full of emotion song ... It's a massacre by big clumsy. Let's listen to the cover by Alan Jackson.
This Man and his Band put on one hell of a show. Me and my wife drove 665 miles to see Him and his Band in a bar in Louisiana and it was well worth the drive. And he even took time after the show to personally meet the fans and he introduced his wife that he was very proud of her for helping get his life turned around and making his life worth living again. And if I ever get another chance to go and see him in concert again I will go. And if any of yall have a chance to see him and his band in concert its definitely worth the money and the time. Keep on doing it your way Mr Taylor and the Sinners
I just gave my wife of 26 years to god 2day passed away last fri found this and watched it wish angel was here 2 see this she would luv it thank and god bless u robert cox
Always my Daddy's fav song, God bless him, he left this world 02/26/21 and I miss him so much everyday!! Her? My mom not at all. Rest in perfect Peace Daddy, I love you.
This man is the only hope that I have for California. After being stationed in the Bay Area and spending time up in Humbolt County, I can't believe this big of a talent with this big of a Texas country influence came from here. Can't wait to go back home and catch a show. Jackson Taylor is about 75% of what me and my boys listen to.
Ain't that the best!! Love stumbling onto jems... check out post malone covering sturgill Simpson. It'll blow ya away.... I had no clue who post malone was before I stumbled onto that song.
My dad had "He stopped loving her today" played at his funeral....He had his version.....Now i have mine....Thank Jackson! get to Knoxville Tennessee soon
this band from Texas has been down thru there to have a passion for music like they do, i really dig there feel for music, purple rain at the end of he stopped loving her today was F'n brilliant!!!! Good shit fellas , makes me wanna get sideways! keep on playing boys!
RIP George Jones..... RIP Prince!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two men I greatly respected/respect equally! Thank you Jackson Taylor for putting together what most could not do or would not do. It's not a matter of whether either of their fans would agree...it's a matter of me and "true fans of both of them" knowing the two of them would greatly respect each others music! Great job...amazing!
What an incredible combination of these two songs! The Possum &Prince would be proud! It gave me goosebumps! I'm sending this out to the love of my life who passed away 20 years ago! There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about you Christopher!
Huge Jones and JT&S fan....that being said a big shout out/RIP to Prince...beautiful melody of two beautiful songs nailed by an equally talanted artist in JT&S
Somehow.. Never even thought that He Stopped Loving Her Today and Purple Rain would have 1 thing in common. the Genre alone.... But it works!! And it works GREAT! Wow! Just goes to show you.. You can country- fie Anything... If you got the Right Pipes and the right Instruments... especially some Steel! Looks like George Jones and Prince have something in common after all. Love Jackson Taylor's Vocals!!!! Wow!

They made us play it again! We obliged! (Dont worry I gave you credit-lol)...Just yesterday I ordered the Live DVD/CD from Amazon. Can't wait for it's arrival! Keep on going. Can't get enough!. Thanks, Peter
Who'd ever think to put these two songs together from two artists who couldn't be more different, but it works. Really cool. The Possum 'n Prince were two of the greatest ever in their genres.
Being in the older bracket I was a George Jones listener, not a huge fan but appreciated his music. Prince was I believe the most generous of the musicians of his time. Hearing this guy put George and Prince together is fantastic, pity we don't have outlaw music as a big genre down under . Keep it up Mr Taylor and I don't mean for "the dirty girls" I mean in musical terms. cheers
Best cover ever, so hard to do justice to a classic. I like this better than the original. Loved her till the day he died. Real love never dies. Or you didn't really love them at all. Its a beautiful thing. Part of life. These guys jam !
Best version's of these two songs I've heard and they flow together very well! Nothing beats the original version of he stopped loving her today George Jones was the best country singer out there and purple rain I never really liked but this way is Fucking just killer!
From a 63 year old lady from Tasmania Aus. The closest I will ever get to Jackson Taylor is here on Utube (sadly). So just let me say - This cover of He Stopped Loving Her- Purple Rain is FU-------KING AWESOME.
My husband of 25 years took off about year ago and no communication since December 27th our oldest son's Birthday. We both were wrong. But this is soul mending music. I'm a bass player since I was 14 my brother Jimmy on lead guitar. He was 10 when he started playing in bands. He was killed in a car accident with our mom though she barely survived. Believe me I love my husband but I hurt and this music goes straight to my soul 😎
This was our wedding song thanks Jackson Taylor we're 5 years strong and he won't ever stop loving her
🙏🏼🫡
Combining this two songs together took a musical genius,,I love it

@Dax Deandre definitely, I've been watching on flixzone} for months myself :)

That would be awesome
I've seen Jamey and Blackberry Smoke but not Jackson Taylor. Now I agree, I'd like to see them all at once too!
with Whitey Morgan and Cody Jinks.
