I think it has to do with lack of periods, question marks, commas; punctuation of any kind. Were it a tool to help people learn English, I believe the people/person behind this audiobook are/is selling the reader, short. I agree, the tone is often misleading. But I’ll take it. I like the story.
This is my favorite Stephen King book and that's saying something! I love the movie as well. Probably the best vampire book since Dracula. You can tell King had read Dracula and it was on his mind as he wrote Salem's Lot. He stuck to the traditional legends and myths of vampires and that's one thing that makes it so great. Genuinely scary and well written. Good narration as well!
It is one of the best but interview is the best since Dracula or maybe the vampire Lestat I’m not sure which I like better of the two. This and interview brought vampires back to the lime light
I am really enjoying this you have a great selection of books to listen to. And I just love Stephen King. Thank you for getting it out there for free.😊
I can agree with you on that. Salem's Lot was the Best Book that he ever wrote. I have the Collectors Edition of the book. It's Illustrated and has Deleted Scenes in the book. I have always thought that the 1979 version of the movie was the best, but then so does everybody else. If you never got to see the movie, and most everyone has, See That Version, of the movie. The book came out in 1975, and the Best Version of the movie came out in 1975. They did the 40th Anniversary of the movie in Ferndale, California where the movie was filmed. Ronnie Scribner was there. He was Ralphie Glick. It can be found on here.
I've read this book a number of times, the cheeriness that he opens with describing two people running for their lives from an unnameable horror and stunning tragedy, this is like playing beethovens fifth on a slide whistle to me its literally this👇 ruclips.net/video/xI7L4VNcOmE/видео.htmlsi=1ZW0hj_AlhVkNjGg
Someone suggested listening at 1.25x speed which helps. To the unending AI narration complainers, here's an idea. Go to a studio, read and record the 18 hour book then publish it on YOUR website.
This book was a really bad read i could have read it better it was like a computer with a first grade reading skill please if your doing a Steven king book do it right
AI is definitely improving! I just finished listening to a book narrated by a 'real' human! Not Stephen King book. It was painful to listen to! He over-dramatized every character's voice. It was set in NYC and every female character, young & old sounded like old Jewish women from Brooklyn. The male characters were worse! The bad guys all sounded like Mafia mobsters! This is easy to listen to... so far! 👍
I would be very happy if you share your thoughts about the book. Don't forget to subscribe and like to support the channel!!! enjoy it ))
If you can't post a proper reading of a book don't bother posting anything.
yes the AI is horrible
Wait a minute…it’s a robot narrating it!
This was fucking truly painful. Thank God I’m not the only one of this opinion.
Books with the captioning like this are great for dyslexic people. It helps them improve their reading abilities
The AI reader puts the emphasis in the wrong places and unfortunately it makes this unlistenable
I like this BBC radio drama, but it's not full book:
ruclips.net/video/4SNNtTpMWOE/видео.htmlsi=F9S7KP1G-mtrmAmn
I've found books read by humans on here with the same bad emphasis and hesitancy.
You could probably go to the library.

It's free tho, relax
If you can't have a human narrator, don't bother all you do is ruin the book.
Seriously, this shit is just lazy
U buy audiobook and post it 4 us?
I had forgotten how much scarier the book was than the movie.

You must be tone deaf.

A pity it is so badly narrated. AI seems to stand for Atrocious Intonation. The book deserved better.
Try on 1.25 speed
@@bigmouth2154thanks. This really makes a difference!!
It's free, stop complaining
Of all of King’s books this is my favorite I had a paperback copy but read it literally to pieces on the lookout for another one
Found another one! Second hand but in excellent condition I’m a happy constant reader
Sometimes I need captions because I can't understand the narrator..
NOT needed here!
But I appreciate having them! 💞
Listen at 1.25x speed
Good call much more understandable
Much better
THANK YOU!
That's what I did too, it's a lot better that way!!
I am really enjoying this you have a great selection of books to listen to. And I just love Stephen King. Thank you for getting it out there for free.😊
Awesome to hear you're loving the selection! enjoy it!
I think it works best at 1.5 speed. But it’s still tough. Glad to have this though . 👍
I am truly sorry not to be able to hang with this AI reading. Timing, inflection, and pronunciations are just too jarring to the ear.

@ , 1975 was a good year for Steven King.
It's free! Stop complaining and buy audiobook than
@@ccal6441 , it’s AI. I don’t care if it’s free or not. Love the story, but not this particular presentation. More power to you if you do.
@elainekilgore1352 what kinda of privileged person whines bout free stuff
I would love it if King wrote an account of the List Family murders
Great Author, Great story, spoiled by AI narrator. 🙏👍🏴
Than buy the audiobook
I wonder if AI will always be obviously AI.
it's already far better than this
Couldn't listen to it. When a computer reads a story it loses too much

A slide whistle is being generous. I was thinking a bit more grating such as a kazoo.
Yes the AI reader has some strange emphasis from time to time, but this is fully listenable - also free :-)
One of the best King's Book's,much better then the original Dracula Story, anyway King is the best Story -teller.I like all his Books!
Who's the tall man? Is it Ben Mears? Stephen King was likely high when he wrote this. They could do a scary movie prequel on Hubie Marsten alone
You mean Mars 10?😉
@@nancyscogin7549 lol ya AI sucks
A prequel about Barlow could be great too.
@@mac888spectral7 yes. So much potential with this story
Blessed Be to thee. Such a blessing. 🎃
Ummm a brit sounding AI...for Salems Lot???? Lololol you just killed the whole thing.

Best version of a bad group. English accents for a Maine story is kinda wrong, but the others available were just bad readers.
The Mars 10 house.
The human voice is always better..
Than read it
unlistenable
It's free, kick rocks
No. No AI voices.
AI is unlistenable ❤
It's a good book but absolutely ruined by it's reading I shall look for another version
Ughh.. AI will never get inflection.. this is impossible to listen to
AI read books suck.
Someone suggested listening at 1.25x speed which helps. To the unending AI narration complainers, here's an idea. Go to a studio, read and record the 18 hour book then publish it on YOUR website.
Why are you getting so hostile over people criticizing a garbage narration? AI readings are some of the most annoying, lazy content on the platform
Exactly. I tried reading "All Quiet" just as a private reading for myself. I've read this book many times. Even so, it's not such an easy undertaking.
Thax u, ppl crying, it's free
@@ccal6441 You could at least read it YOURSELF instead of feeding it into a Microsoft Sam program
@jeremyallen5974 extacly, go read it, don't cry it's not ur favorite when it free
That Mars 10 house is creepy
Yet another AI narration channel 🤨
"Boooring." - Duty Calls
I literally cant stand this AI BS. Like being read to by a shitty 80s robot in movies.
Amazing the amount of crybabies in comments, just go buy audiobook, at least its free here
Nope! I can't continue to listen. AI narration is not for me. Words are melded together and distort the expression of too many sentences.

Despicable. Robot reader.
its to learn english, not listen for entertainment
Stephen King's Salem's Lot. The movie is good. The book is starting out good. The narrator. Is good at reading the story. 🧛🕷️
AI
Having AI narrating is just laziness and makes this story unlistenable
