Thanks. Im actually trying to handle my own aggression as an adult
My son is 9 years old and he struggles with impulsive behavior. I feel terrible because until I realized he couldn't help it (realized a few months ago), I treated him poorly because of his behavior. Now I'm trying desperately to get him the help he needs.
Surviving as Mom what help did u get.. please share
I’m glad that you are getting him help and you will feel bad but forgive yourself you could not give what you did not have but now that you are learning you are starting to give so be encouraged
Wow! such a short clip that helps me so much to appreciate the depth and complexity of human development. Thank you!
Beautiful explanation
Thank you this is very useful information I never knew about one feeling at a time and mixed feelings
My son is 19 yrs old but very immature for his age. I never considered this as a factor in his impulsive behavior. That could be it. I worry so much about him because very often he acts before he thinks, it's like he can't help himself. I worry because he also suffers from PTSD and has thoughts of suicide, I'm afraid he may just snap and do something rash. He was such a good kid, though labeled as the class clown, he never threw tantrums or anything like that. He has been in the hospital twice since age 12, due to depression. he's very depressed now and has been trouble with the law . He's so bright and full of potential , he sees a therapist , but I don't see any changes , I don't think the doctor is addressing the real problems head on. Some have said he has oppositional defiant disorder, you can't tell him to do anything, he just won't listen, but he really doesn't exhibit the other traits, he was not neglected as a child, he's not a bad kid. I wish I knew what to do. He lives with his Grandparents now, (long story) and they are overly permissive and a bad influence on him. I really want to help him, this video was informative but I wish you could have gone more in depth on the subject.
Where is more training on this??
