B.C. Rich gets so much shit they don’t deserve from the scene kids. I had a 2004 NJ warlock bass 5 string, and I didn’t realize how well it played and how good it sounded until years after I sold it. Weapony appearance completely aside, it was fundamentally a great bass. I miss it badly.

    • @korn454
      @korn454 4 года назад +16

I wouldn’t say scene kids are the problem. All the scene kids I knew digged them but I agree with you that BC Rich dose get a lot of shit for no reason.I had three warlocks and they were pretty good. Plus I love the shapes more eye catching then some of the other guitar brands that make the same boring strat body guitars “ not saying bc rich doesn’t make strat bodies”but compare them with others BC Rich has the more unique shapes.

Had a1980's NJ warlock for 18 years. The neck was as straight as the day I bought it. With an upgraded bridge pickup, it had the tastiest tone of any guitar I've ever played. Hated to get rid of it.

That goes for me too. I had a Warlock as a beginner and it played and sounded so well. It was like 200€. After selling it, I bought some higher quality guitars but my gosh did I need to search a guitar that sounded and felt like it. Great guitars.

HUGE fan of the Warlock - it's long been my favourite of the "extreme pointy guitars". Mainly from way back in the day when I got into metal in 1994 and Max Cavalera was playing them in Sepultura, and as my band transitioned from Metallica covers to Slayer and then into black and death metal circa 1996, my guitarist got a black one with a Floyd Rose, and that cemented me love of them. I'm always on the look out for the right one to pick up (I'm a lefty, so that makes it a bit harder) - it has to be black, have a FR bride and the reverse pointy inline 6 headstock. I'd love to get one of those, set it up in probably drop C# and maybe even leave off the top two strings in homage to Mr Cavalera 🤘🏻

I have the cheaper model. The one with just HATE on the 12th fret. Had it years, it beat up, but I love it and it's one of those I'll just never get rid of.

the silliest guitar i have now is a First Act ME274 mini-V. sounds alright and looks cute. if i can find one these days, i'd get one of those BC Rich guitars. i used to have a guitarist who was crazy about mick's warlock.

Hello! Please tell me where I can buy such a guitar?

  • @RichLunaMusic

I’ve always thought this guitar shape especially with the Widow headstock was super cool and super evil looking but never silly.
I’ve been after one since 2009 because of Lord Ahriman of Dark Funeral and ICS Vortex of Dimmu Borgir.
Lord Ahriman uses the really high end ones that cost a million and on top of that are discontinued. So no NTs or NJs for me.
    Maybe not ever.
So I’m going after the Black Metal Arrow from LTD with the Coffin Case instead because Satan.

I owned THE silliest BC Rich guitar - the Body Art Series “Bich’s Back”, part of me still regrets selling it because it is so juvenile. And hey Levi if you’re reading this, I’m pre-ordering a run 14 Ormsby and I have one question.....does the Goliath hang naturally on a regular guitar hanger? I always see yours on the wall during Guitarsoles and assumed it was dangling from a wire or something, this is the first video you can see the top and it looks like it’s hanging from an imaginary headstock.

I'm using the Hercules hangers and they come with spacers for thin necks like a uku - but with the 7 string neck it fits so tightly in there that it won't come out.

Just customed my sons Flying V Kelly king BC Rich, it was a heap, Squared off the headstock as it was broke, stripped the awful damaged veneer, sprayed it Candy pink and added the solderless Zack Wylde EMG pickup set, its sooo much meatier in sound. Actually not a too bad guitar.

@Justin Last I didn't give it to him, he designed it and actually it's not girly at all if that's what your are implying and you ain't seen his girlfriend, batting way above his weight lol

I have a Warlock Deluxe limited edition, same headstock with EMG active pickups. It sounds so great, so metal.
But if you wanna get a B.C.Rich, make sure you spend some money for it. Cheap models are not good. I used to have a basic warlock, believe me, you don't wanna buy it.
If you are on a budget, look for LTD or Ephiphone. But if you have some money to invest in a guitar, B.C.Rich is a great choice

Just bought the mtm1 red ibanez. Shape is more mature and the seven inlay is something you gotta love but hey its a signature so I dont care and as a slipknot fan I think it is nice. Plays very well and sounds insane with the SD emty.

Had the bronze series version back in the day (17years ago) all I could afford at the time... Then got a mockingbird in black bronze series again...... Wish I'd had the money to go for something more expensive. Anyway I was always known as the dude with a warlock it always delivered on making people remember you haha 2 years ago my mate gave me another haha nowadays just great wall hangers. My All time favorite BC rich was the Virgo that came out around 15 years ago . Black with blood red thick binding...epic wish I'd have pulled the trigger on that one

Lol, I had a Weston double cutaway "I don't remember the model name" but it was great. Hum/single/Hum, push/ pull pots to split the coils and a Mahler tremolo with the locking nut that was above the bridge which was a major fail. But it was made in Japan in the Matsumoto plant and it had tiny little fret dot markers. I traded it up for a Kramer 1984 that smoked it.
