Sledge vs Kraton video would be dope
YES A VS
Cant wait to see it vs the SLEDGE!!!!
Sweet! I'm pleased to see this thing take some tumbles and just keep rolling. Would love to see a showdown between the Sledge and the Kraton (before and after adjustments to brake/punch/ESC). The first crash/break scares me a little since I live 2.5 hours from my nearest hobby shop and either waste a day driving or resort to the drudgeries of online order/wait. Hopefully that was a one-off but not sure I'd risk not being prepared in the event i bought one. Keep doing what ya do, fellas!
Thank you, time will tell how durable it is. None of our hobby stores carry EXB parts.
I have them both. My EXB has the speed pinion in it and extended drive cups in the front. The brake and punch are both turned up. I have only had my Sledge for a few weeks and have gone through a couple of pinions. The first was a 17T, I didn't wait long enough for the locktite to set and it came loose damaging some teeth. The next was a 16T and I picked up a rock yesterday that wedged between the chassis and the pinion damaging it. So I just put another machined pinion in it last night. Hopefully 3rd times a charm. My Kraton will do double backflips with ease with the higher gearing and punch turned up. It is an animal. The two are very close in performance. I give the edge in general bashing to the Kraton and handling on a track to the Sledge so far. I was out doing speed runs yesterday and my Kraton hit 71mph on gps with the included 16T speed pinion. It is a real handful to control at that speed due to the tires ballooning. My Sledge did 65 mph with the 17T and 62mph with the 16T. It is the newer one that comes with belted tires. It is like it is on rails at high speed with the belted tires but needs gearing up from stock for better air control and speed.
Edit: I just took the belted Sledge out with the 18T pinion in it. It ran great. GPS shows a top speed of 68 mph. It seems to have 3 mph between each of the 16, 17 and 18 tooth pinions.
Kraton is a beast for sure. We will do a Kraton vs Sledge as soon as possible. Are there any must upgrades you could recommend for the Kraton?
@@redbanditracing Either get some GPM 3mm extended drive cups for the front or do the fix by removing the washers off of the front arms. I did a quick video on my channel about a month ago if you haven't seen how to do it. With the stock set up the front arms can pop out on a hard landing. I have my washers back on now that I have the GPM extended drive cups and they are working perfect. The only other things I have done is some roof skids off ebay and a titanium skid under the rear of the chassis by Scorched RC.
Oh btw I did some speed runs yesterday with my new Sledge with an 18T pinion and the belted Sledgehammers. It topped out at 68 mph and super stable. Straight as an arrow. I am going to switch back to a 16T pinion which did 62 mph when my package arrives from Amazon. Not quite as fast, but I should have less issues with heat offroad. I am concerned the 18T will get things too hot in the grass etc.
It’s actually a very common break on that truck. I have two of them. Would recommend m2c or vitavon.
Very nice!
Bro my erevo does triple back flips all day
It’s a very common issue actually. Upgrade to M2C they are way stronger. Also the original cvds are a bit short and as a result of that they tend to pop out of the outdrive cups. I’d recommend getting the M2c +1mm CVDs Or remove the red cap from on the lower arm, that’ll cause the original cvds to go further into the drive cup by 1mm.
Thank you for the tips!
@@redbanditracing you’re welcome!
For some reason the newly designed drive cups seem weaker sadly. Might have to go aftermarket. The punch setting on the ESC does change the power feel significantly. I'll recommend trying it on punch level 7 or 9
We upped the punch to 7. As from what I’ve seen, the drive cups do seem pretty weak. M2C sounds like a great route to go
ciao amico da roma italia cool video bravo
We appreciate that, thank you
