    Neil, to answer both your questions: yes he uses a tip weight, but sands down approx 1/16" of the tip of the shaft to compensate for any added length the tip weight might add. 2, yes if a club dries funny on a drying rack it can effect the lie of the golf club. Hope this helps.

      What grit sandpaper do you use?

      Can you explain how a resting club on a drying rack can change the lie? what forces are involved that can change the angle of steel?

    So, they don't line up with spine line or FLO line?

    Did you put some weight into the hosel? Doesnt that change the center of gravity of the head?

    Hi..I assembled Mizuno mp60 (6 iron 257 grams) to + 0.5 inch dynamic good s300 shafts. For some reason, pitching wedge swing weight is e1. And 5 iron at d7.5. I don't understand why that's is the case with 4 wraps of grip tape . There's seemingly no hot melt in the heads before installation

  • @slimrick
    @slimrick 3 года назад

    so there's no certain way the shaft goes in ? don't have to line it up with the head ? leave the grips for that

    so, if a mistake was made with the epoxy on the iron to the shaft and it needs to be redone, is there a way to dissolve the epoxy or is the club shot?

    Is there any difference in performance or ball flight whether you add weight as an insert in the hosel or behind/around the cg behind the face?

    Can any true temper shaft be used to create a set of same length irons or if you cut them too short will it change the flex points?
    I have a set of dynamic gold s300's on cobra pro mb's I've been thinking of cutting them down to same length.

    I think its better to dry swingweigh then glue then install the grip personally

      Frank 77 then the grip will throw the swing weight off.

    Not checking for the shaft spine or FLO?

    • @TrueTemperGolf
      @TrueTemperGolf  7 лет назад +9

      In our many years of testing and research and building of clubs, we have not found any advantage to spining or pure-ing shafts. It certainly does not hurt to do it, but it is not necessary. It is only a personal preference for some players (and it's not many golfers on Tour who actually ask for it).

      FLO definitely allows the head to square more consistently during the kick unload. Surprised 😳 it wasn't mentioned. Yes it requires more time and effort but IMO def worth it

  • @briantorney980

    I was VERY disappointed with the explanation. First, the shaft should have been disclosed as a taper tip as it didn’t need to be trimmed. The tip should be sanded half way up the ferrule. Second, using a balance beam for swing weight is at best an approximation. I use a digital scale for accurate results. Third, the shaft should have been spine aligned. After swing weighting you should only need .2 SW for epoxy. If you are using .5 SW worth of epoxy you are using way too much. Lastly you should allow at least 10 minutes of drying time before finishing the ferrule as it can spin if the epoxy has not set.
