I admit that when I first saw the Revelator, I assumed it would be quiet - some sound, but designed to be mainly played plugged in. I enjoyed being completely and utterly wrong about that.
This just makes me regret not getting my credit card out when I tried one at GNUF...or selling one of the grandchildren!
Ahhh! oh my poor aching budget! 🤣 Great review and nice to have something to aspire to! 🎶When the Boat comes in 🎶
The Revelator is a mouth-watering instrument, and expertly played! What is the other uke? It sounds excellent as well. They both put my Cordoba to shame.

We sell this rubber stringed bass uke at our shop in Staffordshire. You need to review different options with bass ukuleles.
A thorough review of a very nice instrument. Thanks. For those of us with dry winter climates would a design like this be less prone to the wood splitting? I had that issue with a solid mahogany standard tenor. Tucking it away in a hard case with a humidifier for 5 months makes appreciating and playing it a big compromise. This ukulele is too precious to hide away. It’s wall art and musical treasure.
"Can we re-enact your face?" 😁
That is Beautiful and the sound is glorious! The price is dear but I suppose that's the price of admission.
I'm lucky enough to have one of the early Howlett Revelators, and I swapped my high G for a low G with the Fremont Squeakless Low G, which I thought gave it more range, but I hadn't considered swapping the C string. Do you know what string was used for the wound C? I'd quite like to try it.
I disagree that it's all about the sound. It's all about the magic, and this thing has lots of that.
I'm going to abandon my UAS, sell my 9 ukuleles..............................I want one!!!
