I’m participating in the challenge. I love the Kala ukuleles, but prefer gloss finish. I have a Kala concert and would love to have many ukuleles. They are so fun to have and play. Having the pick up is great, because I play in a band and the Ike’s always need the boost when playing out.
I like Kala. My first 'proper' uke after starting with a red Mahalo was a travel soprano Kala. Still enjoy playing it 10 years later. Although the geared tuners were a bit heavy, so replaced them with friction. Worked a treat! I'm participating.
That sounds so much better than my new Kala Pacific walnut tenor. The C string sounds poor and very thuddy at the 5th fret. The dealer says there is nothing wrong and Kala are not really interested. I would love to see your appraisal of this model. Kala say the lack of kerfing is to improve the sound. I wonder.
Participating...Baritones are just fun and a bit different from playing the sopranos, concerts, and tenors. Having this option in your collection just rounds things out nicely!
