Just ordered a Kala ASZCT-ST after watching this video. The tone, resonance, and size seemed perfect for my needs. It sounds so much fuller than any of the others and the spruce top and ziricote are just gorgeous. Your reviews are the most concise and give the clearest perspective on each instrument. Of course, the playing is divine and helps complete the picture. Thank you. 🥰🎶
Ah, the Millar BR tenor. I remember buying it straight after a video call with you, and it was my first ukulele at that quality level. I still love it. It’s now tuned down to Terz tuning where I’ve found it really sings as my “jazz uke”. You’ve half convinced me I need a jumbo tenor with that tuning after the video though! On another note the mango is my favourite Lex Luthier I’ve heard!
Might be my favorite sounding batch of tenors I've seen yet. Also, if you ever have a Flight you're just gonna, like, throw away or whatever, I'll take it. :P
Thanks Alex, enjoyed the uke demo’s, nice playing guy. Really enjoyed the, not in price order formulae, as it is always a surprise what your own ear falls for. Liked the Enya picked, which is different for me. Also fascinated by the Millar. Have a great weekend.
Yet another great presentation of tenor ukes selection. I'm relatively new to the uke world and, after a whole lifetime playing 6&12 string acoustic guitar, I noticed something: IF the uke appearance remembers me the traditional guitar look THEN something inside me doesn't like it. HOWEVER I love the exotic woods with happy designs with elaborated craftmanship. I know this point might have nothing to do with the sound of the instrument... yet, just saying.
I got the KA ASCP from resell online. The Pau Ferro I got is very vibrant looking, I thought it was acacia for a moment. Very deep, full sounding. I agree with the quiet picking as I expected it to be a bit louder. It’s definitely a great ukulele
Great video. Thanks for your wonderful presentations. What strings do you recommend for the Kala Super Tenor. Tension is noticeably higher. Do you recommend baritone strings? Are there "softer strings" that are not as rough on your fingers? Thanks for your help.
Black nylon is stretchy so will feel the spongiest under your fingers but you will probably always find that particular ukulele feels high tension if you choose to string it GCEA. This is because the strings have further to go which creates a higher tension. You could try Daddario EJ53T strings for a lighter feel but it won't be lighter than a standard 17' Tenor.
I am super far from professional, but, oh my, the L Luthier...the voice is like "melting caramels"! Warm and it just flows. But, no Snail? Just wondering why...thanks for your very awesome video!❤
Lovely instruments. I hardly know where to begin. The Kala Metropolitan looked and sounded very good to me. What was the tune you played on it at the beginning? I've heard you play it before. Sheet music or tab available? The Ohana TK270 was also lovely. I've recently become a huge fan of Ohana. I appreciated your presentation of it. And the Enya, wow!
Hi, I'm a 70y/o man who would like to take up the Uke to exercise my stiff fingers and would like to learn to play a Tenor. I live in Essex and can't find a store locally that specialises (or even sells) Ukulele's for me to try out. Could you recommend a nice warm sounding Uke around the £150 mark that might suit me until I know whether I can get on with the fingering? At some later stage, if proficient enough I could up my budget for a better make/model.
I think any of the Kai, Uma or Snail Ukuleles upto £150 would tick the right boxes. I recommend the Kai Kti-100M which is well within budget and should get you up and running.
Hmm... They do different things. The L.Luthier is the one I would choose. If you were to look at LE Maho vs a Fireball, it would be a tougher choice to make.
@@SouthernUkuleleStorethx very much for your responsiveness ! Actually I’m still lost because I’m been told that mango is fragile so I'm afraid for the long term. All ukuleles combined, what would you choose for a budget of around €600?
@@SouthernUkuleleStoreok so btw flight fireball and L. Luthier Le Maho, what are the pros and cons of the 2 options? Finally which one would you take if your were me? And last not least, can I buy the one chosen to your store (I'm located in France) and at what price?

Always excited to see a new vid of yours appear! Your knowledge and passion for the instrument is inspiring...and refreshing! 👍✌️
Thank you! ❤

The sound of the LLuthier was so well rounded and balanced. Great video all around. Thank you, Alex!
Kala ASZCT 👍 found viewing best upside down made stuff more strummety undreshtandable? 🤗 Love how you simply turn that thing over to play left👌
Haha, I'd buy a Flight Destroyer or a Kala Dave for sure!
Seems a no brainer to me! 😂
After all the dreadnought acoustic guitar shape is named after a battle ship

Okay, just added a new must have to my uke obsession. It’s been a minute since I’ve purchased from SUS. Put me down for the L.Luthier thanks Alex.

Very nice. Us left handers can only dream.
Ok, the Fireball is always a crowd pleaser. As for the L Luthier, wow! That’s a beautiful instrument. Happy Friday!

Hey! The tune is called
Walk in the park
You'll find a demo on how to play it on my ukes with Alex channel on RUclips 🙂

Hello!😊
Kala ASCP- T or Kala Contour All Solid Mahogany - T?
Contours are better in my opinion.

@@SouthernUkuleleStore thank you I wrecked my brain Yesterday to remember Bring It on home to me , good job anyway.
What about the cost per Ukulele ???
That's all in the links. Costs change over time so I rarely talk about them in the videos.
