Being out in the church can be difficult-but it doesn’t have to be that way. Join Dyllón Burnside as he meets an openly gay minister at a small, mainstream church in Jackson, Mississippi, committed to creating a community open to all who take the command to “love thy neighbor as thyself” to heart.

Its a relationship with Jesus through his spirit and he changes me from the inside, it has nothing to do with the flesh. Its all about the Spirit and Truth walk with God. Because each is accountable for themselves and has nothing to with organized religion.

When you choose to be a Christian you have to fully commit to this cause. You can't select to live by just a few scriptures that you like and avoid the ones that don't tune to your liking! Do not contort the scriptures to cater for an act the Bible says is a Sin. It just shows your blatant hypocrisy.

I'm extremely curious as to how Christians who support homosexuality read the Bible. The Bible is clear on its stance. How do you go about it? Can a Christian answer this ?
Thats clearly against the bible.they twisted the verses or ometted it. Thats really sad you can't cherry picked what you like and you dislike in the Word of God himself

My opinion is this......satan mimics God ...he tries hard to to do everything that God commands and creates..this is know different..to twist and make God's word fit your (man's) agenda is totally evil and there is know truth here...even their testimony isn't a testimony until you have received deliverance and that isn't shown here...REPENT turn away from sin and seek SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST..if you believe....
He as the pastor has large responsibility to correct the errors of men within the church and to protect it from false doctrine. If the pastor of the church is corrupted how much more are the people within it! Woe to that pastor who sowed wickedness into his church with false doctrine. For The Lord has called us to pick up our cross and follow him. This pastor has forgotten those very words in order to feel better in this temporary life…. but In doing this he will forfeit his own salvation as well as teaching others his false doctrine.
For the word of God stands firm and states:

the context is purely lustful homosexual activities, and even then it’s debated on wether homosexual was the replacement for a greek word that meant a man sleeping with a child, as in a p3dophile

Homosexuality is a sin
. So are the other things mentioned. We all wrestle with over coming our sinful nature. We all need forgiveness. We all need to seek the lord. I've been wrestling with the idea of this issue and I'm not certain we should turn them away. I think Jesus would offer them the same forgiveness as any of us have been forgiven of our different sins. In either case he would tell us to go and sin no more. I think we should still encourage them to be saved and to turn from it.
@@choopdap No, the verses speak on homosexuality, including its actions. There is no "replacement" for any words. The original wording of the verse was in Greek, and so was with the New Testament. Arsenokoitai is the word, and it means in literal "men who sleeps with other men". The word "child" is not in that verse.
@@cxarhomell5867 I hate to use whataboutism, since it’s such a deflect. But for example, do you eat pork? Leviticus 11:7 forbids it. Leviticus also condemned heterosexuality, and all lust of the flesh, yet Solomon had hundreds of wives he fornicated with. It’s all contextual, you have to ask yourself does this fall under sin of the flesh? Does it fall under loving thy neighbor? There’s reasons that sins are sins and you have to ask yourself why and not just “the Bible told me” especially without context
He said the world has to change with the Gospel and that he accepts who he is, he can speak the truth. Well the Bible is here to change up and Jesus Christ showed us how to live. If the Gospel doesn't change you, how do you really know that you have changed? I feel sorry for those who are under these lying pastors.

Jesus would've accepted this pastor. Many people forget that he sat with the cast out, and the sinners, and still loved them despite what they did. I pray that many, like you, will soften their hearts and love thy neighbor as thyself.

It’s not what you feel what you are. It’s what God called you to do. What these guys are saying is about the “community”. They are talking about themselves and not even mentioning God. It’s more about their feelings and not using the Bible. I hope God opens your eyes and you see clearly what you are getting into.

He is a man of God who preaches the Bible. He has a personal relationship with God and it’s not easy being who God made us in front of hateful ignorant people just because that’s how they were taught.

In order to have a personal relationship with God you have to be OBEDIENT. The bible warns us not to add nor take away from the word of God. If it doesn't line up with the word of God we shouldn't be partakers in it.

As an atheist, I never look down on those who follow religion, at least so long as they aren't using it as an excuse to couch bigotry. Religion can be extremely useful to people, providing comfort and well-being for people in difficult times. Likewise, it can be used to spread hatred or harsh idealogies. It's all about how it's used, and it always comes down to a personal level for everyone. If we need comfort during any time, now would be it.

I agree. Being a homosexual while cloaking their filthiness in the Christian faith is not acceptable. If any sinner is welcomed in the Church, they will had to respect God's Children as sinners. They must respect Christians in peace.

Romans chapter 1:24-32. I pray for deliverance for this man. Present your bodies a living sacrifice holy unto God which is your reasonable service.
rom 1.24 ff is explicitly about the behaviour of idolaters. it essentially says that ancient Roman idolaters did shameful things. it makes no categorical statement about same-secs behaviour in general. the man tried to live according to your interpretation of "holy unto God" and it failed him, as it has thousands of people.
When you become truly saved, your life is transformed from your worldly ways and you’ll want to soak up your word and everything God wants you to do. So there needs to be change but all of us need to grow so we just need to love people

I've been gay my whole life and I grew up in a regions family my mom side was.methodist my dad's side was Pentecostal . I held my secret in for Years then finally one day 4 years ago with my ex partner I came out. Of course it was a big blow to my church it was so bad that I got kicked out of my old churches clergy . But later on I found a better church who is accepting of all. I know what the Bible says Regarding this subject but remember man wrote the Bible and through out the years man added and tool things away from it so we don't fully know the truth. And if God wad against gays then I believe none would exist in the 1st place. Plus Jesus never said anything about homosexuality yet many preach against it let alone there are many gays in the church. But to wrap up what I'm saying there is more ti a person than their sex life and nobody should be judged on something they have no control over

"Christ's righteousness" is symbolised by the bridal gown. Rejecting the garment, then, means rejecting the qualities that qualify men to be God's children. People have no suitable clothing; "all of our nice actions are filthy rags" (Isaiah 64:6).
Remember the man without a wedding garment, he represents people claiming to be Christians who do not believe in character conversion BUT would rather continue to sin. For example, when the KING entered to greet the guests, He noticed a guy who was not dressed in a wedding garment. 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' he asked (Matthew 22:12).
The King was willing to pardon the man if he could provide a reason for his failure. The man, on the other hand, was "speechless," signalling that he was not guilty. He declined the suit that had been supplied to him on purpose (Matthew 22:12). In other words, the man was content to stay in his sinful prideful ways not realising at any moment he was going to be thrown into the outer darkness for eternity. Unfortunately, people do not realise that God the Father, Jehovah Yahweh is HOLY and we MUST have reverence for HIM. 'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy is understanding' (Proverbs 9:10). You need to REPENT.
@@rsmith7589 Living life while believing that god thinks the most special part about me is the worst thing in the world... Believing that he'd punish me for marrying my beautiful wife... That's not a life worth living nor and eternity worth hoping for. Thankfully, I know that god loves ALL OF US and would never ever harm us for being with someone we treasure.

Romans 1 is about idolatry, idotary ritual/worship and acts engaged in by heterosexuals as part of such worship. The Bible makes no reference anywhere to romantic love between 2 adullts of the same gender being a sin (homosexuality).
I give him every credit and all my respect for overcoming his adversity. Seriously. That's a heroic achievement. I still, however, find it utterly beyond my understanding how anyone remains within a religion that intrinsically thinks you are an abomination and a sin. Especially if said religion was forced upon your ancestors while they were being sold as property and brutalized for centuries.
As he stated, community is not about agreeing is about loving people, maybe you can get away from what you don't agree, but there's many lest fortunate that can't, so staying and helping change things not only for you but for the community is perhaps a better approach.
I get that. But the religion does not say that. People who misuse it do. It took me a while to come around to that, but I find it a genuine place to live. Some people find their spiritual home elsewhere. My hope (as I tried to communicate it to Dyllon) is that everyone will find a place where they are valued. If that is church, great. If it is somewhere else, that's great too. Community and value dignity are what matter to me. Thanks for watching! Rob

i would suggest that you look at translations of The Bible from more than 300-400 years ago. modern english 'versions' of The Bible are often used to claim that homosexuality and/or homosexual acts are sins but The Bible (as in the texts that were used for modern versions) contain no such reference.

I'm glad I found the strength to break away. To each is own but spiritually suits me so much more than religion did. I feel like most of it is just a way to control weak minds. I've always had a mind that works strictly from logic, so when I asked innocent questions in church that no one could answer I got beaten at home. I went on my own journey and found the answers I needed. Love yourself unconditionally, gay, straight, bi, lesbian, trans, queer etc ❤️ Don't let people dictate your happiness, or tell you what is right or wrong.. we can feel what is right and what is wrong in our hearts.

Accepting and encouraginf people's sin is not love
The Holy Bible said homosexuality is a sin. Leviticus 18:22, Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1 :24-32, Corinthians 6:9, 1Timothy 1:10.
None of those texts say anything of the sort. The category of "homosecsual" didn't even exist when the Bible was written. Every one of those verses is about something that's wrong for some other reason, not because it involves people of the same secs. A couple of centuries ago, people were quoting the same verses to argue that non-reproductive acts were wrong, but no one does that now.
FYI Leviticus does NOT say "don't lie with someone of the same secs". It says "don't lie with a male as you bed a woman". The ancient Israelites had a taboo against a male taking a woman's role in bed.
Rom 1 says that ancient Roman idolatrous males did shameful things with males, not that males in bed with males is shameful. Read it carefully. The description is not even superficially similar to loving relationships based on secsual orientation.
1 Cor 6/1 Tim 1 say that male-bedders were deliberately doing something so hurtful that it was incompatible with life in God's kingdom. It was because male-bedders was mistranslated as homoxesuals that led to the disaster we have today where people are condemned for a harmless naturally occurring variation over which they have no control.
