I am not sure what bothers you about what he said. What he said is right in line with Joshua 24:15 "Choose you this day who you will serve....but for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." All Christians are not part of the same "house." That is why there was a protestant reformation.

This is has always been my problem with tv preachers, they go with the flow. They'll tell you one thing for years, then when the wind changes direction they do too. It's all about $$$$ with these guys.
Try listening to some of the older pastors, Leonard Ravenhill, A.W Tozer, Martin Lloyd Jones, Paris Reedhead, modern preaching is easily seen for the gimmick it is after comparing to them

Darla, i don't think he means it the way many of you perceive. I think he is saying the church needs to evolve not necessarily accepting of the lifestyle, but in a way of being more welcoming of others to be able to influence those who are wrongly led. I took it a different way, some only see thru one lens, but there is many ways person can go about receiving Christ as long as he or she accepts him.

They are more concerned with appeasing the current culture and maintaining their bottom line rather than spreading GOD'S TRUTH, not man's. Such people will be judged harshly by our Almighty Father.

I understand what he was saying I grew up in the church knowing I had same sex attractions and my pastor handled me very honestly and carefully, he was never disrespectful or crass but never pretended to agree just tried to understand the battles I faced. I believed the church was "one body" and that doctrine was an understood consensus. Im older now and can identify with things differently
If you've found your peace, I'm happy for you and I won't try to challenge it. But if I can say this... please know that loving how we love isn't a sin and being told that the most special part of who we are is something god finds disgusting... that's the most painful message in the world. It lead me to a suicidal place. But now, I'm so happy to have come to a place where I believe that god ordained and treasures how I love... People are confused because (1) They go by word of mouth and DO NOT read the Word for themselves, (2) Churches are not on the same page and are teaching something totally DIFFERENT from what the Bible actually states, (3) The Bible CONDEMNS homosexuality up to about 7 times. Early Christianity rebuked any form of sexual immorality such as invest, rape, bestiality, fornication, etc, multiple times as well!

Bishop Jakes must repent for these statements that are counter to the Word of God. This interview has likely given many comfort in their sins.
This is what happens when you let money guide you stance instead of the word of God.
Bishop Jakes obvisiously dosen't want to come out straight and say LGBT life style will result into eternal damnation, so I will say it. Every Sin will result into a hellish reward if one does not repent.
Mr Jakes, the Apostle Paul was very clear on his stance to the church on any sin nature and cultral conduct, it was never a struggle for the Apostle.
However we can clearly see that this topic was devilishly design to ensnare both you a public figure and God's CHURCH. The church is not condemning, God's word clearly state that the wages of sin is death.

Most prostitutes, gay and lesbian persons, most people kn jail, most paedophiles themselves were molested as children. Also, the link between mental illness and emotional disorders is huge.

If the bible is in fact the word of God, and am not completely sure anymore that it is, then it has been used wrong to suppress rather than uplift and unite folk. Where do you stand on that? This was the defining moment when I backed off from following TD Jakes. He previously was a GREAT teacher of the word and had a powerful ministry for years. However here he clearly compromised basic Biblical doctrine so not to offend those in the pop culture. That way he wouldn't lose support and be more accepted by them.

Mr. Jakes is obviously minimizing the seriousness of the subject. His example of Paul's comments about a woman wearing a head dressing in church is not on the same level as a community in which threatens the very definition of marriage. The LGBT movement is the only organization that literally has a movement that asks the church to change it's view on what the Bible is very clear about! Jake's is an outstanding speaker, but he is just going in circles in this interview. I'm amazed at the gall of some of today's so called "men of God" when they have the audacity to question the word of God as it was inspired to his servants to write! Lets face it, this is a type of strong delusion that the Bible talks about in the last days. Why can't he take a stand for God's word?
