I heard theres a rare item at the beginning of the game called an ashen estus flask.. it's super rare, and its like an estus for your FP. Extremely rare and hard to find, only veteran players can harness this powerful item

I'd say that Solaires armor is more rare than Lorians armor since you literally just look at the shop after killing the boss to get it, While with Solaires full armor you need to drop a few items to the birds.
I'm not saying I agree with his chosen words but still, He does have some kind of a point.
alban board I didn't say anything on it being rare or not, or if it should be or not, but I think they "hid" Solaire's armor in the crow trades as both a neat hidden armor and as an easy to obtain set if you know the items. That way it's cool for the fans and if you want to dress as everyone's favorite sunbro, then you certainly can.

For those complaining how "rare" means hard to get in these games, it doesn't, rare means how many of those are obtainable per playthrough (one), because there's only one "rare" fits this meaning, we all know how easy they are to get but if you miss one of these in your first playthrough then you'll have to re do everything to get that ONE armor set in NG+ (or in another character)
Most of these armors aren't that rare, most just require killing a specific enemy or getting a specific set of ashes. The rarest on the list is probably the Sunless Set, since it requires completing an entire NPC story line, but it's still not really rare. Also the last armor set shown, isn't the Court Sorcerer set, it's the Karla's Set.

i would of finished ds3 by now but ive stayed back so me and my friends can finish it together, but that being said i know who the final boss is i looked up allot of stuff, plus i just had to have artorias's gear it's my favorite in the whole series

Anyone who has beaten all of the bosses has access to ALL of these apart from the Knight sets!
+Xanatos since everyone has access to it, it's common, none of these are rare at all, what rygarr said is the equivalent of saying that common cards in a trading card game are rare if they are rare in your opinion, rare is things that have a low percentage of you getting and those armors have a 100 percent chance of being gotten each playthrough, black knight, silver knight, and the evangelist set, those take time to get full sets and have a low percentage of dropping making them rare.

+Baroque Chevalier Noir At east DaS2 gave you the Heide knight mask. DaS3 look amazing but they definitely went lazy on the armor sets imo.

I thought sunset armor would be one because not a lot of players would concentrate on a side quest for that nice looking armor.
This main theme gets me everytime, it is so good, skyrim like.
Skyrim sounds more of a charge forward while Dark Souls sounds like loss of hope and unbalance tranquil

Almost none of these are "Rare" They're mostly easily bought from the old hags shop. Like dancers Armour, how is it rare? You kill the boss and can buy it from the hag, not rare. :/ Edit: I will give you Havel's Armor since you gotta kill the real one and manage to find his body afterwards in a separate area. Symbol of avarice since it is indeed a rare item drop and mimics are limited, THIS is what rare armor is. 2 outta 25

I love the souls franchise, and all the armor and weapons are great. My only complaint is I wish they didn't just re-skin some of the old armors. Havel's, for instance. If you want to play a tanky class, your pretty much stuck wearing Havel's in every game, so it gets kind of boring. I understand you can wear what you want, but if your going for durability and armor, Havel's was a no brainer. As much as I love it, I wish we had other options that are as strong, but look different.

I wouldn't really consider the armor you can purchase rare, but whatevs
The sunless armor is probably the hardest set to get here without a guide, but even then this entire list pales in comparison to farming for enemy armors. Hell, the rarest thing in the game right now is probably the Darkmoon Blade miracle due to how broken it's covenant is.

How is that considered f***ing rare? 90% of the Sets are available to buy after defeating a boss or easily found somewhere! Most of the shown Sets even require to kill bosses necessary to advance in story.
Wolf Knight-Dark Firelink shrine handmaiden sells it - No requirement, she has it always
Dancer Set - Buy after defeating Dancer - a for the story necessary boss
Dragonslayer - Pick up after Nameless king - The archdragon peak boss (optional area)
Lorians armor - Buy from shrine handmaid after defeating Lothric the lord of cinder - a necessary story boss
Dragonscale armor - Nameless king mentioned above - can be bought from shrine handmaiden
Firelink armor - After defeating the endboss - buy from handmaiden
gundyr - Buy after defeating champion gundyr in dark firelink
Havel - After killing havel in archdragon peak get it from the bridge above wolf of farron
Undead legion - buy after abyss watchers
Faraam- Defeat Albert in Grand archives , then buy
Brass armour - Darkmoon tomb - Shortly before Anor londo bonfire theres a illusionary wall with a corpse and this armor on it
Favor armor - Kill the beasts around Archdeacon McDonall - they give a ring - if you have the ring you can buy the armor
Eastern Armor - Buy after handing in Easterness ashes
Mornes armor - After Eygol helped you with Dragonknight armor or you killed him you can buy it
Smough Armor - can be bought after defeating aldrich
Symbol of Avarice - From Mimics -RARE DROP - THE FIRST RARE ITEM YOU SHOW - AWESOME
Sunless - After killing Sirris or Lothric can be bought then
Black iron - Kill knight slayer tsorig in smouldering lake - he is a red invader- then you can buy it
Exile - Kill the two hostile npcs above farron keep bonfire and you can buy it
Outrider knight - the boreal knight in grand archives drops the whole set
Black knight armor - RARE drop from black knights
Silver Knight armor - RARE drop from silver knights
Painting guardian - can be found in the blades of the darkmoon convenant tower - just drop down
court sorcerer - This isnt even the court sorcerer set you show - you show Karlas set - which you by the way get from either killing karla - then buying it or giving prisoners chief ashes then buying it. Court sorcerers armor is acquired from profaned capital - near a location with a single hand monster

+Sakuya Izayoi you are right about wolf knight set but if everyone stopped spoiling themselves on the internet there would be many players who won't know that the area untended graves even exists within the game wich you have to cross before you get to dark firelink shrine where you can finally buy it so if that would be the case you could say that its rare even if you just can buy it ( just my opinion )
If you know about it it's not rare at all. And it wasnt even well hidden, I found the area extremly easy on my first playthrough. Not. rare. at . all.

+Luis Perez I don't believe you need to kill her. Once you've got 3 of the lords down, you'll hear her voice and she'll automatically bring you back to the Dancer boss battle to continue your story progression.

aside from Havel, Wolf knight, Gundyr, dragonscale, favor, symbol of avarice, All of these armours are either picked up in relatively unhidden locations, gained from a boss, or just farmed off enemies until it drops. But Aside from 4 sets and a helmet. You really can't miss them unless you figure out where the secret areas are (while symbol is just a random drop from any mimic)
+Mediph Eranz (Mediphious) i wouldn't exactly call the garden's area secret unless u don't explore and go strait ahead after the dancer boss fight, it is however an optional area whereas archdragon peak is a totally hidden area requiring a special thing from the before said mentioned optional area to even access it

Mediph Eranz well if u go through the consumed king's garden it leads to the unattended graves after which is the dark fire link shrine so if u don't miss the garden which u shouldn't if u are exploring like u are supposed to do the u wont miss it at all, and don't u have to go through ash lake to get to the bed of chaos or some other boss? i'm not sure my ds1 knowledge is rusty cause i haven't played/watched through it in a while
You have to hit a wall behind a chest. Not many people do that. They think the reward doesn't hide anything else. Ash lake was hidden behind not one, but two hidden walls. and was completely optional.

When this said Rare armor I thought it meant that it hardly drops but most if not all these armors you can buy once you beat the person using it like the Dancers armor and undead legion armor

Guys when they mean by Rare armor they probably mean that you can only get it once or you know they messed up.
Only things that can be considered rare on this list are the Symbol of Avarice, black knight & silver knight sets since their parts are dropped by enemies
The rest are either found in fixed locations or can be bought

This should honestly be changed to "Unique Armor Sets" because a lot of these are not rare, you get them by progressing through the game naturally.

Most of these set arent rare, but instead require you to kill someone or somthing. Some of these armors can be purchased from the shop once you have the right ashes.

I don't think you guys really understand the concept of rare...
Most of these sets are fixed pickups (easy to find by just playing through the game and not being blind), dropped by an NPC, or sold at firelink after killing a boss or NPC.
The only 'rare' armor here is symbol of avarice, the mimic hat. It's an extremely rare drop from mimics, but you have better odds of getting it if you put the mimic to sleep with an undead hunter charm before killing it. A close second is havel's set, as it's a bit complicated to get (kill havel in archdragon peak, his set then becomes a fixed pickup on the bridge in farron keep, near the stray demon).
