    My classmates and i did this skit in a talent show back in the early 2000s back in high school, we won 1st place because everyone couldn't stop laughing even the teachers 🤣😂 I was Fred, my best friend was Lamont, and my Hispanic classmate amado was Julio. I wish someone recorded it I had no idea we would get a standing ovation 😅

    This was probably my favorite sitcom of all times. The newer sitcoms just are not as entertaining

      I drive by the house he had in Vegas quite often. His house was converted to a Reality office. The owner pays homage to Redd Fox with a logo of a red fox on their business sign.

    I just watched an interview with Eddie Murphy. He said Redd Foxx was naturally the funniest person he ever met. He said you sit in a room with Redd and you just laugh.

      Gregory was a great addition to many Sanford episodes. Most of the main cast of the show are gone with the exception of Wilson, Smith, Hamilton, and Platt. Yes "Donna" is still around!

    Whenever I watch an episode of this I feel like I am there watching it how I did in the seventies with the sun outside, lawnmowers, and the smell of the BBQ coming in from the backyard. For all of those young people out there, cherish your youth. Those are the real golden years.

    I love it. The freedom of the time and the class and ability that Redd Foxx was able to archieve to push but not too far and provide for all of us to enjoy such true laughter. Bravo!

    This type of comedy actually brought people of all races together, not apart, because we all appreciated great laughter. My favorite episode…well, one of them, was when Fred insisted on having a white dentist! Great stuff!

    I can remember my dad laughing out loud to both Sanford and Son and All in the Family! I catch them once an awhile now days and find myself laughing even though I know what is coming. Do not watch sitcoms now because they lack one thing, Humor!

      Yes but for different reasons. Archie can’t be replicated because you can’t replicate that character. Fred can’t be replicated because you can’t replicate Redd Foxx. Other actors could have been Archie. No one could be Fred but Redd.

    Julio was such a great character! His facial expressions, so lively and body language all came together.It was Redd Foxx who actually bought Julio into Sanford. They must have known each other well.

    I think I have seen every episode at least 3 times, and I still laugh like its the first time. Good classic show and its my all time favorite show.

      It really was a wonderful time. I think that Sanford and Son as well as All in the Family actually opened up conversations that never would have happened otherwise.

    Classic scene, classic show! The pickup truck is still alive and has been restored to mint condition complete with same color and sign on the doors. I believe it's a Ford from the 50's.

    Redd Foxx is still one of the funniest comedians ever. So much better than today’s formula comics. I saw Redd Foxx in concert with Slappy White and it was the funniest concert ever. But also the most XXXXXX rated concert.

    Between the early 70s, watching with my father and bros in the basement, I've seen EVERY episode a million times. THIS is definitely THE, or among the greatest scenes in Sanford and Son history! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
    Sanford and Son would NEVER make it in today's sensitive society...

    My Grandpa did not miss this show. He would get really close to see the TV set. When he got tickled he wud smack his hands. It was funny watching him watching Sanford and son.

      Today, if they did this scene,
      They would have to cut the "red" part of the shangrila (sangria) because it is Republican colors and may resemble "MAGA" criminal hats.
      They would have to cut the "Negro" part because it sounds like the N word and it is racist.
      They would have to change Lamont to another name because they would cite that "Lamont" was a slave name.
      They would have to cut "ripple" because that would stereotype poor black neighborhoods.

      They were the best! More realistically funnier than the 50's & 60's and not trashy like later generations. Not too offensive, yet people could still stereotype and poke fun without outrage from the snowflakes.
