If you watch her closely when Fred is introduced to the old man and he says, hello Noble, she is doing everything possible to keep from bursting out laughing.. I have the set and binge watch them a lot and still laugh out loud.

I had jury duty a few years ago and in the interview for final selection the judge asked me if I watched television. I told him the last show I considered “ can’t miss” was Sanford and Son. I said judge , have you heard of that show. He said in front of the entire court( with reporter present) , “ that was a very good show” I was selected and became jury foreman. I can’t make up a story like this. Sanford was the best !

It is very political. I believe this episode, while very funny, was dealing with the idea of gentrification in Los Angeles and other major cities in the US where rich folks were buying up the historically Black neighborhoods. Comedy back then was political, but politics were different.
