A lot of folk on here seem to be confused by the various governing bodies of the English game, who runs what competitions etc, ie they don't seem to know the difference between the Premier League, the Football League, the Football Association etc. Stoke played Man Utd in the Coca-Cola League Cup that year, a competition run by the Football League, the organisation Kev Lynch refereed on behalf of.

It was a 3-0 win for united are you really a fan or you just like to feel involved, then they played them again 2-2. Simple google searches won’t make you guys look silly
Man U beat Stoke 2-0 at old trafford in the league cup 1993. However, neville wasnt playing (too early for him to be a first team regular) and Keith Cooper referee the match, not Kevin Lynch. Hes completely made this story up.
