So I used this video as a guideline and IT WORKED!! I was able to successfully do the all keys lost procedure with the first method you showed. It pre -processed the blank after market key and then generated the key. at first it wasn't doing the pre-processing so I had to reposition the key in the slot on the tool then I made sure to not move the key again for the next step - it took about 5 mins and I did not have to unlock the key. To be honest, I’ve destroyed one in my career but after that day I vowed to never do that again. I always come prepared now. Plan A with a Back up Plan B,C,D. I have the capability to repair modules now. I’m not worried if one kick the can because I know how to recover a Dead Module.

The 2009 bmw models key fobs can be programmed to be completely wireless . I was told it can be used on the older bmw models with the same kind of key fob types
I have the IM608, AutoProPad lite and the MVP Pro. Next week at ALOA in vegas I will get this and it will be my go-to. I do think there are way to many steps to programming, based off a Town & Country Fobik vid I just saw. It was the same amount of steps as this BMW. With the AutoProPad it's like a 4 step process. With the KM100 it's like 20. Still the things this can do it's worth it.
The im608 is just 1 step above the 508, I believe is the most complete CAN/ OBDII key programmer ... I would try the one from advanced diagnostics but is crazy expensive for my market(Mexico)

@@kevikristensen6605 you can try and if it fails and breaks your cas module then you need the im508 or im608 to fix the cas module if it can be saved if not buy a new cas module. That's your options to work with cas modules and all keys lost, oh and don't forget all keys lost need isn number. Good luck.
@@jorgemat8080 it doesn’t break or brick it…. The im508 or 608 won’t repair it…. Not alone at least. The XP400 is actually what is needed… autel has free software for pc or mac for the xp400 that includes a hex editor. It can always be fixed by simply dumping the EEPROM chip and changing a single character in the hex code using a hex code editor. It is unknown if this is an error on bmws part or if it’s something they do on purpose to prevent people from making keys. I cant tell you how many calls I get because a car lot hired some guy that purchased a 508 or 608 and considered himself a locksmith, posted an ad up on market place and went and screwed up a bunch of cas modules. So many people believe that this is not a fixable issue and have brought it to bmw for repair. I can only imagine how much money they have made because of this. I will say this…. If you have an xp400 or pretty much any other chip reader, then it’s like having god mode to a video game. You can literally alter anything you would like. For instance… when you turn a ford truck on and the video plays of the ford logo smashing through concrete… I changed that out with a lower resolution porn scene of a topless woman jumping up and down on my friends truck. He actually asked me to keep it on there as I did it as a joke… he went to the dealer for service and he said that every employee was mind blown and laughed…. Well the thought it was funny except for one of the higher ups that decided that tampering with the cluster was enough to void his warranty. Guess who’s got to fix his car for the next 8k miles if anything happens? Lol I offered to do so though because ultimately it was my fault.

I was saying if you only have the km100 and going to do bmw akl to be careful I did quite a few with my im608pro and run into issues where I had to pull cas out so I was just trying to tell people that bought the km100 and don't have any other tools to help if something goes wrong to stay away. But if it's your own car go ahead if you mess up no big deal its your car ( 😅 ) then just take it to someone else to fix. Because obviously that person that commented on doing bmw with the km100 probably doesn't know much about doing keys and just wants to go and do bmw.

It was a new key. But something occurred while programming the Key that required me to unlock the key and reprogram it to the car again. While generating a dealer key and writing it to a position it failed leaving the key in limbo
I'm going to try this myself on an E60 M5. The customer has no key and the car has been down for years so no risk if I need to get something more advanced like the xp400

Ok so some toyota models will only work with special key types like the XM38 TOY.T keys . Maybe try one of those . Create the key using Xhorse Mini Key Tool or Keytool Max. Worth a try.

It won't work on the F30 since that vehicle is using a CAS4 or FEM system. This tool works with CAS3/3+
