I know BMW business is done also but what happened to honesty integrity and fairness? well I should say thank you for your great help. I fixed it by following your direction changing one fuse for cost of $ 1.75.

Thank you so much for sharing how to fix BMW key fobs not working to lock and unlock your car door s and showing step by step instructions how to replace the fuses if blown!!! I tried this step by step instructions and I know nothing about the BMW fuses and have zero experience with, so I learned a lot Thank you of how to replace the fuses!!! I tried to replace the fuses as described in the video as I have the same exact problem on my 2009 BMW 335i Convertible with my key fob not locking and not opening doors and not responding to locking and unlocking key fob and my doors not opening or locking on comfort access door handles to get in and lock doors. Unfortunately the fuse did not work for me. However I learned alot so thank you so much!!!
Ihave been driving my 2009 BMW 335i Convertible with the key fobs I have (2) key fobs in the ignition switch when I drive consistently and still my key fobs for a year now have not been working to lock and unlock and open and lock my car doors and I do have comfort access on my 2009 BMW 335i Convertible. I did just replace my key fob batteries both of them, and now with brand new key fob batteries replaced in both my key fobs when I walk up to car and open and lock my car door with my hand physically opening the door with the comfort access it now works and my doors open and close now!!! So 100% the key fob batteries had to be replaced!!! However my car was not locking and unlocking from pressing the key fob to unlock and lock the doors still after replacing both batteries on key fobs, and replacing a brand new car battery installed and now following the instructions to replace the fuses as this video so valuable shows how to do, and my car still was not locking and opening from the key fobs. So after replacing the key fob batteries and then putting the key fob in the ignition and turned on the car and drove for about 1 minute, then turned off the car and tried to see if my key fob would work to lock and unlock the doors and it immediately works!!! So for me on 2009 BMW 335i Convertible I had to replace both key fob battery’s and then stick the key fob in ignition and drive and turn off car and to now works!!! I’m so grateful I haven’t been able to lock and unlock my car for a year now !!

I know nothing about BMWs, other than it’s a fortune for any fixtures, especially after I had replaced a part in past. But since then I had a few minor issues come up, one of them being this. I’ve learned to research a bunch online before taking it in and I was thrilled to come across your video. It’s extremely helpful and now I feel better at least knowing what I can do to diagnose and resolve the issue myself. Thank you SO much friend!

Thanks for the DIY tip!

Not sure if your 2 year old could actually do this nor do I think its wise to allow a 2 year old to service your vehicle lol but I love the idea of the hands on learning experience.. you just need to immerse them in EVERYTHING, all day long. Whether it's you turning on a light, picking up a wrapper off the floor&throwing it away, or you're cooking dinner. Let them experience it with you&explain what you're doing&why you're doing it...too often ppl get this mentality of "itll be easier if I just do it" &its true, it is easier, but it's not more beneficial for your child. I understand it can be hard&you're probably tired&what not, but its imperative for their development to take the time on the small things...so I applaud you for that!

Thank you. This solved my problem. My keys had stopped working, and I also had an auto brake malfunction error. I had a hard time figuring out what fuse numbers were associated because my car had no literature on it, but some research for a 2011 X5 suggested "6, 103, 109, 129, 142". 129 was blown and replacing it fixed the issue. The keys stopped working again shortly after, and I looked at the fuses again. After 103 was pulled out and pushed back in, it started working again.

I took my car to a bmw repair shop and they said it may be an electrical issue and may be a little expensive. Thank you so much for your video!!
I checked trunk and glove box fuses and they were all good. I changed the battery in the controller and it didn't work. and I also tried two or three tricks and absolutely nothing happened. but i did this...
one of my two controllers on my 2008 x5 stopped working almost 6 months ago. What I did yesterday was watch a video on how to open the controller (which is sealed) and replace the battery (which is soldered). then i watched a video on how to sync the remote to the truck, which is super easy, all i had to do was go, insert the key in the door to unlock the truck, get in, put the key in the switch, turn on, leave about 15 seconds on, and turn off, take out the key and check if it works or not. and it worked for me, immediately I took the control out of the switch and pressed the lock unlock buttons it worked. Thank God I already have my second control working for only 30 dollars with everything, battery and welder kit.
I hope and whoever has the same problem will find my comment helpful.

Now the spare key has the same problem where it doesn't lock or unlock the car when I click any of the buttons on it and the alarm also goes off when I unlock the driver door using the physical key from the spare (And I'm not sure why this is the case) but the spare key is able to start the car.

You need that 2032 round battery. If that doesn't do it, you have to sync it up to the car by starting the car with it. I had to do that one other time and it worked. Cheers!

@@BSA210 You know the reason I discovered the problem with spare key is because there's a RUclipsr who said all BMW owners need to keep using their spare keys so that they get "charged" when driving.. but I guess that was not true then if you say the keyfobs don't recharge.... Thanks for the info I'll now avoid costly mistakes.

@@lindabenton1436 the only keyfobs that recharge are the non comfort access. If you have comfort access then yours won't recharge and need a new battery. Let me know if you need help with how to replace it

Could this be the fix if the key fob works randomly?? Sometimes it will unlock the car, sometimes it won't. Sometimes I have to put the fob in the slot to start it, sometimes I don't. We've replaced batteries in both fobs. One fob doesn't work remotely at all; the other works randomly. We did take it to the dealership and they were no help at all. They were clueless!

This is great thanks. One question though. Would the dealership not check that fuse before deciding on giving you a new fob? Or are you saying they'll change the fuse and then try to charge you for a new fob?

You're suppose to put the key in the ignition when you drive. Do not drive these cars as a keyless car. I learned the hard way with my e60 they have an ignition slot for a reason.

They are push start keyless. You put the car next to the ignition to get it to start maybe, but you don’t have to put the key anywhere specifically.
