We have a distributor here in South Africa so I am going to him tomorrow. I am adding a delicious tuning flex fuel kit as well with a PLM UEL catless header and a full custom 76mm exhaust system.
From my research Ecutek is best with FI setups, more options, more protection and more functions. If you running NA, then OFT will be the best option to go. OFT can be used for FI setups, but not as comprehensive as Ecutek
Don't waste your time with canned tunes. If you aren't getting a dyno tune or sending data to a remote tuner, you are probably not making more power and you could also be putting unsafe parameters into your ECU.
@@omardgardiner2225 Never did lol, had the car for roughly 8 months, did TRD catback, a front pipe and got rid of it since I also owned an E92 M3 and that was my priority. Honestly, if you ask me today, I'd say just run it stock, power gains on this platform just isnt worth the cost. If I had to pick one I'd go with dynotune, since the OFT is a canned tune that's very generic and conservative. Ecutek is essentially a device that allows someone to tune your car remotely but you're gonna have to drive the car for datalogging before, and after the tune, essentially what the tuner would have done on the dyno. Cheers.
Depends on what modifications you’re planning on doing, if you’re planning on doing more than e85, headers, exhaust and simple stuff like that, then go ecutek, if you’re planning on staying within that realm, just go openflash
I have a 17 370Z. I only have a cat back exhaust, throttle spacers, and some drop in air filters. For the level 1 rune do I just download the maps and go? I understand tweaking is necessary for forced induction, but as far as a largely stock car goes, is this something the average person can do themselves?
I think a video would be a good idea comparing. If you boost get an ecutek or plan on it down the road. That was all I needed to know to make the choice.
So, since you said the license is tied to the ECU, If I bought an 86 with an ecutek racerom tune but don't have the ecutek physical connectors and want to change the tune, would I need to buy the connector?
So I switched to flex fuel. And my tuner is amazing and they’ve been dealing with Ecutek for two months now saying my fuel trims are maxing out and cars running rich. Apparently Ecutek is having issues on there programming side to fix it. It’s aggravating. They’ve been slow to respond.
so do i need to do stage one first, im new to all this and want to do this, also on the website there is a boost tune what is the difference between that and stage two?
You could infinitely retune it right? The license is essentially connected to the car. Also if you buy one with a pre set tune could you change that to another one?
So I see some add ons when I go to add to cart (was looking at the stage 2 for a UEL) Would I need the unit ($250) and the hardware ($400) or just the unit if I am sending in data??
I have 2016 370z nismo as well. I do have a question though…i have added the Stillen 3 inch CAI and the AAM Resonated short tail. Do you recommend to get her tuned perhaps with the Ecutek since i am not planning on getting Catback on long tube headers anytime soon. Thanks
Question, I dont have the ecutek originally used to tune my car, im planning to get a new ecutek to get tune revision, do i need to buy an ecutek with license again or just the ecutek without license???
If you have a map for 91( lets call that map 1), but you want to use E85, can you just use the flex fuel setting to run e85 on map 1? OR do you have to make a new 'map 2' for running a performance map for e85
My tuner tuned my sti with one of these , Q: if I bought another tuning device from another brand , will I be able to tune my car with same license I have in my ecu ?
lets say I wanted to buy right now. I would need the interface cable, the license as well as my preferred tune package (stage 1/2/e85 ect.)? Is the tune license necessary if it's only being used on one car? Theres no description on what the license is needed for on ecutek. Great video otherwise! love the content!!
The license is pretty much a small usb flashdrive you get, that will connect to your computer and it'll put the license onto your ecu so the Ecutek program can recognize your car when you connect to your obd2 port. So yes license is required or else the program won't work for you.
