Ted Testing Of Wicked Tree Puller

  • Ted has redesigned the tree puller we started a few years ago, and made what is probably the most Wicked attachment we have ever made. Ted maxed out our Kubota SVL 95 and the tree puller didn't even flinch. See Ted put the Kubota, tree puller, and several trees through the ringer.

14 or 15 years after Teds first EA videos it’s still Ted showing and telling us how great his latest thing is and how much stremth it has and it’s still awesome. Love ‘‘em or hate them they make great attachments that are light weight and increasingly barely more expensive than stuff that is way less quality. Keep ‘‘em coming Ted. My 3rd function came from EA. They are great to deal with. Can’t wait til my wife ok’s a wicked 55….

kubotas can handle alot of abuses in them but it nevers lets ya down wich why kubotas are the toughest machines in the market

Well after all the years of product testing. The one thing that I’m amazed by is that you still have things left to product test with I thought there would be nothing but grazing pastures with in a mile. Love the videos.

I use my wicked grapple all the time, it is the best tool I ever bought for my tractor. Absolutely zero issues with it, with hundreds of hours. this looks like it will be just as good.

Great to hear, David! Yes, and we'll have a few different ones, so we can match it up ideally for the intended machine. Thanks so much for following along and for your business!! #EAcustomersROCK

YES! So far the only thing I can see is that the guard might be a bit too tall if you're trying to bury the curved jaws into the front of the tree. But definitely looking forward to seeing and getting the finished product!

At time 16:20 you should use the forks to break some of the roots "first"...this should make it easier to pluck the whole tree out of the ground...after weaking the root structure. Blue Sky's. Please experiment with this option.

Lastly, I wish EA would D&B a wicked backhoe for skidsteers - a proper one with outriggers. The CID Backhoe works well on my Kubota75 for trenching, digging up boulders, and a bargain at $5k, but >12" stump removal is quite a chore for the Operator without outriggers.

In the beginning of this video you said '' you wasn't hard on your equipment.'' This video of you operating this machine says otherwise!!🤣🤣

I'm thinking about the things it could do if the brush guard was replaced with a thumb. It would be similar to the beak attachment. Could pull Post and trees and grapple rocks and brush without changing attachments.

Looks like if you could get the prongs angled down and tear some roots loose below the ground it would take a lot of work out of this project. No need to abuse the equipment.

Ted needs to just go ahead and start manufacturing skid steers. The “wicked steer” I know it’d be built right and would never die 🤣

Next logical progression is a wicked tree shear for the skid steer, a 15inch÷ capacity w at least 70ton shear cylinder. It's the only thing missing from your lineup now you have gotten into this puller.

I'm at 13:44: What if you had a hydraulic vibrator set up as a power beyond on the clamp circuit?
A little vibe can make the roots come out easier and the dirt will shake off better.
And you're right, they could be replanted. Now you'll have to market to the tree puller clientele.
    Damn the bad luck (;
I'd have one if I had a skid steer for sure.

No way. The Quick Attach / Erskine “Extreme Power Claw” is superior in every way. Bigger cylinder, much thicker steel where it matters, significantly better mechanical advantage, etc. But it is super expensive. This one from EA looks like it has promise, maybe they could get close to the design elegance of QA but without the insane price tag…I’d buy one for sure.

If Ted had a 20,000+ pound machine, that tool would likely hold-up and the trees would get ripped out easier. This work was way too hard on the SVL95 and worse, the Operator! The video probably shouldn't have been made...or shown. Get the proper-sized machine and demo again. Where's Peanut - or did I miss him by playing at 2X?
